I tried buying KIOTA some time back, but it did not let me find the asset at the time.

It is normal to be frustrated, but unlike other coins, Iota can enters directly top 5 exchanges in 1 day time, and already in Fiat. I guess that dev may have this kind of plans.

It's the way IOTA has been since the beginning, IOTA is not to be released with exchanges without all the testings to make sure everything works as it should. Good news is that things are looking good and bits and pieces are all building up.
The founder does not take it lightly for anyone to attempt to pump, it just adds no real value and may cause the opposite to the project itself.
The founder is building a vision to life and not just for speculators to get rich. Speculators can do their own things as long as it does not affect the overall image of IOTA.

Don't overestimate that subreddit thing. 99,99% wouldn't mention that. What we really need is iota's environment, I agree.
I wouldn't underestimate it instead. We already see what frontpage means... lots and lots of people are flowing in! 
Reddit trending chose IOTA, so the IOTA subreddit is possibly visited by millions of people today.

There is a 1.1.3.5 release source code in github. Is it for testnet only?

I have a seed that has 12 GI on it and I have not messed with it since 08/25/16 I have been running it for a while on the new light wallet and not showing at all when I tried to claim it said invalid something but I know they are on there I did not use them or send them anywhere someone please help
Last I heard the claiming server was overloaded, probably DDOSed. But yeah, you would have to claim.
