What is the progress of iota releases? Are there any way to follow them?

Back-end is ready and needs only to add API support and be tested. Front-end is not ready. Those who purchased iotas are claiming them now.

Hmm.. seems like i haven't heard of IBM's ADEPT

https://www.theprotocol.tv/adept-demo-ibm-samsung/

Interesting, so IBM also sees the limitations of MQTT and decided to up their game.
Seems like they haven't heard of a blockchain-less system yet hehe  Grin

Noob Question:

How does MQTT differ from IOTA and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using IOTA over MQTT.
Or have i completely missed the point and is MQTT not in the same technology application space as IOTA itself?

THanks

Iota incentivizes delivery of data to all nodes because this increases security of the whole system, it also hides real endpoints of the communication and is more lightweight.

Just a few more open ended points that i now understand after reading up more on IOTA -

1. IOTA is obviously much different from MQTT as in it is a cryptocurrency hybrid and thus has value in that itself.
2. Correct me if i am wrong but MQTT was never designed with fog/mist/ local computing in mind. If we are to have billions of interconnected devices globally, then i understand that cloud computing won't be the solution for reliable and fast data analysis, especially when computing time, bandwidth and network latency can be major challenges to scalability.
3. MQTT cannot as easily collaborate and add value to existing blockchain technologies the way IOTA can.
4. MQTT packets support encryption (User name/password supported in packets) but are not quantum secure as far as i understand.

Very interesting, as old as MQTT is, i think i better understand how to differentiate the two in terms of architecture and application. If anyone has a better set of points to differentiate IOTA and MQTT in terms of benefits and use-cases, i would love to learn more. Thanks.

when is this going to be launched?
january

Yes, in January we'll witness what a directed graph with no directed cycles (DAG) network can do to disrupt the disruptors.

I think iota will be no blockin for us in the conventional sense or in the presence of more altered condition

Okay, thanks. So compared to MQTT, IOTA architecture allows for more decentralized consensus, higher security, anonymity of nodes and is more lightweight (suited for low powered IOT devices/nodes).
Hope that is a correct statement  Smiley

so i guess it's too late to buy some iotas ? No nxt asset either ?
Last lucky!!  Grin  https://nxtforum.org/alternate-cryptocurrencies/iota/msg204686/#msg204686

Buy IOTA on NXT monetary system.

Currency code: KIOTA
Account: NXT-LXTE-49TM-7BAZ-8W37F
Currency Id: 10176659922964555108

When Iota goes live, you can change 1 KIOTA for 1 000 real Iota tokens.
When Iota hits exchanges the price could be higher.
If Iota never goes live for various reasons, your funds will be returned to you at the rate you purchased KIOTA. Of course, you need to trust me to buy. I am selling from my personal ICO stash. It's an option for late comers.

I made a rough calculation, with nxt @ 0.00001589 (medium price today) is 2.78075 BTC for 175000 nxt to convert to 500 KIOTA(the existing stock) to convert to 500.000 IOTA.

approximately price x3 / x4 from crowdfounding.

I think is  a great deal, also the nxt forum user (lurker10) who created KIOTA is a  trusted member of the comunity.

The old addresses in /ac have disappeared. There are a few new. Do I have to enter the address new or is there a different list than /old.txt and /ac? Where? Thank you.

If you entered in once then no need to enter it again.

CfB, thank You very much for your response. Just a pity that I can see my address nowhere. But maybe later.
I know, now devs are very busy.

like 80% of the ico's Cheesy.

Mrboot, I'm pretty sure that most would not sell. we would Iota BENEFIT, and only in this way you can later get Iota.
Although of course it find those who have not understood the very great idea. They will sell.
