For me why bitcoin is important than ethereum is bitcoin is the base of all altcoins and ethereum is connected to bitcoin too if no bitcoin no ethereum.thats why the bitcoin is so important
Would their have been Ethereum without Bitcoin? I don't think so. And since Bitcoin is and remains marketleader how can Ethereum ever become more important than Bitcoin? While the price of Bitcoin keeps getting higher and higher, the BTC value of Ethereum keeps getting lower and lower because it keeps remaining around the same dollar price, it even lost some of that. During the last two months it went from 0.09 BTC to today's 0.03 BTC value, that shows that it can't keep up with Bitcoin and keeps struggling.
Bitcoin and ethereum are playing a big role in our life and to the community for the present generation, that's why it become important to us. But, it doesn't mean that we can't move without this. There is only a certain thing which they'll be needed. As the bitcoin community grow rapidly it is become essential to us, the adaption of cryptocurrency will help us to create a new system which very easy and it won't consume much time in different transaction we've gonna do.
Becuase of the price, yes. But if the conditions change in the future, the answer to this question would also change.
bitcoin is just the same currency as ethereum though! bitcoin is not control by anyone and it has no company running with it , unlike the ethereum theres a team developing the coin and once the company run with the money and stop the project all ethereum may gone to zero value.. this is how strong bitcoin in the market!

Bitcoin is more important the Ethereum right now because it has the first-mover advantage and it is a worldwide known brand and the only brand everyone knows associated with cryptocurrencies. ETH is catching up though, only a matter of time before it passes BTC I think.

I think Bitcoin is more important than Ethereum. But they're both important in their ways. Bitcoin is the first crypto, and altcoins just get their idea in Bitcoin. So without Bitcoin there were no altcoin. And in Ethereum if you look it up carefully you will see that there some good advantage too. ETH price was stagnated for a long time but It's only now that is gaining more attention due its surge in the price and faster transactions/low fees. It is true that Ethereum is the biggest altcoin in the market, but I think it's fair to say that Btc, with almost 54% dominance in the market, is the most important cryptocurrency in the world, and there's a reason why Ethereum is considered just an "altcoin".

Bitcoin is really more important than ethereum because if there is no bitcoin then there will be no altcoins because they only get their idea from bitcoin to create another type of cryptocurrency that is called altcoin right now and without bitcoin, some people are not rich because bitcoin really gave them opportunity to earn a lot.

Yes bitcoin is more important than ethereum because we all know that the first crypto currency is bitcoin and most people that have knowledge about crypto are invested on bitcoin. 
Very silly question in my opinion. Why do you think that either is more important than the other? The truth is that both bitcoin and ethereum are important in different ways and each have their own set of advantages and disadvantages which make them great coins in different ways. Some people favor bitcoin over ethereum like me and some favor ethereum over bitcoin, but both are equally important if you think about it. I will never stop supporting bitcoin and will always favor it over all other coins always.
