Apparently yes, but you need to act very carefully, because anything you do online is traceable, and you can bet that government agents are monitoring the blockchain just to see if something interesting happens... Be careful!
Apparently yes? No bro! Bitcoin is not anonymous. First and foremost, if you decide to state your public address and you keep using the same one over and over again, I can easily check and monitor all the transactions you do on that particular address. Do you want to also talk about dealing with exchanges? We can say bitcoin is pseudo anonymous, but completely anonymous like you said? No way!

Its not completely anonymous, but pseudoanonymous one.. every transactions on bitcoin is registered on a ledger called the blockchain. On blockchain, only the bitcoin address and amount of bitcoin that was received or sent can been seen, but not the personal information of the sender or receiver (such as name, age, etc). However, every transactions made are publicized to the entire bitcoin network.
Yes, Bitcoin is not anonymous because it's trending well and now a lot of people are involved in it, so the demand for money is growing so many people choose to join Bitcoin to get the best profit

My questions is not on the technical side, since obviously you can create an address in a very much anonymous way. However, when it comes to spending it or convert it into fiat or even when spending it on a legit shop online you have to leave an identity trace.

I know that with small transactions is fine, under the radar basically, but what happens with significant ammounts?

I am asking this because I intend to become rich in 4 or 5 weeks Grin Grin
Well we don't know or i don't know that bitcoin is really anonymous because bitcoin has a many many securities and it cannot be easily hack or be known as anonymous.

It is not anonymous. You can't hide you transaction. I believed that every node you used can store your IP Address. That's why others are using a mixing services to hide all their footsteps.

And then there's the issue of cashing it out to a exchange platform. They will require you to submit documentations, revealing yourself. And then there's blockchain analysis as well. If we really want total anonymous, look for a privacy coins like Monero and Zcash.

In theory yes. But you are anonymous only until you try to exchange bitcoin with fiat money.
With little sum it's not difficult to keep anonymity, but with bigger ones, it's almost impossible.

Use Monero!

Bitcoin is psuedo-anonymous not anonymous. All the transactions are available publically and anyone can access and verify them. So if your real id is linked to some wallet then it can be traced easily.

That is why if you are really looking for privacy then you need to use Monero.

Quote
Users must be able to trust Monero with their transactions, without risk of error or attack. Monero gives the full block reward to the miners, who are the most critical members of the network who provide this security. Transactions are cryptographically secure using the latest and most resilient encryption tools available.

Monero takes privacy seriously. Monero needs to be able to protect users in a court of law and, in extreme cases, from the death penalty. This level of privacy must be completely accessible to all users, whether they are technologically competent or have no idea how Monero works. A user needs to confidently trust Monero in a way that this person does not feel pressured into changing their spending habits for risk of others finding out.

Monero is committed to providing the maximum amount of decentralization. With Monero, you do not have to trust anyone else on the network, and it is not run by any large group. An accessible “Proof of Work” algorithm makes it easy to mine Monero on normal computers, which makes it more difficult for someone to purchase a large amount of mining power. Nodes connect to each other with I2P to lower the risks of revealing sensitive transaction information and censorship (tba). Development decisions are extremely clear and open to public discussion. Developer meeting logs are published online in their entirety and visible by all.

In my opinion, bitcoin is not entirely anonymous because the wallet that a person uses has been decentralized in the blockchain system so that any number of transactions and destinations to be sent can still be seen in a history. But if to know the identity of a person is very difficult and takes a long time when insisted to look for it .

It's not the bitcoin that is anonymous but its holder. Once bitcoin address is registered on the blockchain it will be recognized by the ledger and they will be able to determine whether your balance is good as what you transact. Unless of course, you divulge your BTC address in public because there are many ways to trace your transaction just by using your BTC wallet address.

No, of course not, a lot of people can easily track you if you left a lot of finger prints on your bitcoin addresses, i mean, if you posted your address on Facebook, twitter, or any other social media.

The anonymity of bitcoin is, of course, lower than the anonymity of cash transactions. At the same time, willing to wait for a long time of loyal users, they can find a way to anonymous access to and use of the currency, but due to the openness of trading books and other legacy incomprehensibility, was thought to have a perfect security identity and trading activity may in some cases was leaked

Right now, bitcoin is not yet known in the world. It is anonymous, many people need it but the people who need them do not notice it. It has never been known but has gradually become famous and has a name in the industry. The day is near the day that bitcoin is available to everyone or will be needed. It is best to recommend bitcoin to people who are not yet well known. Let us help them change their lives. Smiley

Yeah, no one can see our balance unless we allow them to do. Also in blockchain you cannot view that, also the 2 addresses and the amount sent/received and nothing more.

No, of course no, the blockchain is 100% visible, and everybody can see your entire balance.
The only thing that is impossible, is just to know WHO is the real one who is managing that wallet, that is clearly impossible.

people cannot see our balance as long as we don't give it to another people and only we that will know how much that balance. but I agree that we can see each of the wallet address in the blockchain with easy but we still don't know who is the owner of that wallet. I think this makes bitcoin stays anonymous and will be like that and we can use our bitcoin for anything we want.

Localbitcoins is anonymous or An0nyMoose Wink

It is good for buying or selling bitcoins without any verification or id proof at all. They also have an escrow.

But the price you pay for this is pretty high. I think the fees is around 10%.

The same thing you can buy at exchanges at a much lower cost but all exchanges need to have verification and anyone can track you using those exchanges.

In other words bitcoin is only as anonymous as you keep it.

Wow! that's good for you!.will for me its needed to be become anonymous, especially in your place, as you said that you become  a rich in 4 to 5 weeks. Its needed to protect yourself from any harm, interviews or something that can treat your life in danger or with your family, thats why its necessary to become anonymous person and still in a low profile as just  what our founder of bitcoin done for herself Nakamoto Satoshi, until now we dont know the real identity of this person.

Bitcoin is not anonymous and is often described as “pseudo anonymous”. One of the most famous examples of how Bitcoin is NOT anonymous is that of Silk Road. Many believed at the time that this new Bitcoin thing was untraceable and therefore a perfect means of payments for illegal items. As history now shows law enforcement was able to learn how to trace Bitcoin payments using the open sourced blockchain as their guide.  This is an important fact as many Bitcoin pundits will argue that its an anonymous payment system used mainly for illegal activities.  Now there are ways to mix your bitcoin address and essentially become anonymous but that’s a whole other story.
