No, smart contracts are great and all of that but in my opinion if the purpose is to be a currency then keep it simple do not add another layer of complexity that many people are never going to use so in this case the additional features of ETH are shackles that slow it down so bitcoin is not going to be surpassed by ETH as a currency.

Theres a 50-50 chance for Ethereum to overtake Bitcoin. We must know that ETH is a blockchain maker website, meaning ICOs and new coins can be built using Ethereum. In the next few years if new altcoin owners will continue to use ETH as their coin blockchain. ETH can be a threat to overtake bitcoin.
I think ethereum currently indeed is much better than the BTC because this coin a lot people searching for.

Of course its a threat but until ETH scaling problimes are solved , that not too imprortant.
ETH has too many project being developed , that are one the biggest in the industry now , if they succed in doing what they promiced that will require great hashing powers to handle all the tokens and icos and everything else.
Plus I mean every month i hear about new ETH attack - it the matter of time we gonna see something huge happen and that just gonna ruin it for eth.
BTC history is much more interesting
Ethereum is too far to reach bitcoin since ethereum is just alternative and bitcoin is the main and many company are already accepting bitcoin as payment unlike ethereum that are use only for trading purposes

bitcoin already have it's label as it is mostly used in making transactions and gained already the trust by its user but we were still looking for some alternatives to do more task and to know if there can be more who can do other task better. In my opinion ethereum cannot affect to the bitcoin. It because the value of ethereun can't rich the market value of bitcoin. If you analyze, nowadays the bitcoin value still rise while ethereum remain.
Also i think value of ethereum is based on the value of bitcoin every times value of bitcoin increasing then value of ethereum decreasing. No other coin in crypto currency could replace bitcoin on the top bitcoin dominates all the time.

No, Ethereum is not a threat for Bitcoin. In fact Ethereum makes Bitcoin stronger. We need a bigger crypto-currency business world. With Ethereum there are a lot of new project coming. This domino effect make Bitcoin and whole crypto-currency world bigger, better and stronger. There's no competition but mutual benefition here.
I think its not,Because bitcoin is the biggeat cryptocurrency in the world.As of now bitcoin is used by many people in the world.And these etherium is not that very popular when it terms im cryptocurrency.So thats why I dont see any reason of bitcoin to be threatened
I think it's not, because ETH is doing fine themselves. Besides, every move of eth will take has points of failure and will be put in worst possible position.
I do not think so, ethereum is now strong, but if the opponent is a bitcoin, it's still too far for ethereum. Yeah it is the eth price in the market is more applicable than bitcoin when it comes in investment the ethereum average price in the market make it the best for every investment for everybody i guess eth today is more profitable than investing in bitcoin its self. I.don't know what that exactly means that Ethereum is much better then Bitcoin? At the moment Bitcoin is the strongest and the most accepted cryptocurrency. Of course there are issues, nothing is perfect, but to my opinion at the moment Bitcoin doesn't have some serious competition. Ethereum is totaly different story and its not the threath to Bitcoin.
It has different aspects so it can be the tgreat of bitcoin maybe in level of eth and btc may too close but it will never be threat cause btc is the most powerful but we dont know if can be change. Jump to:
