I think Yes but partially. Look, most of the cryptos are traded with btc or eth. So if price of these two move, others’ prices also move.
in my opinion, when the price of the bitcoin price down, then altcoin will go up. As I observe the pattern. Indeed currently a bit difficult to make a definite price analysis. Moreover, the number of coins that the longer the more alone. And this makes the market becomes very unstable.
I think most of altcoin will be affected when bitcoin is dropping because that is market psychology. BTC is like the general index of this market, when its dropping, everybody is fear; when its growing everybody is greed. But there is still some altcoin growing when market is down, it like a safe assets which people gonna buy when the economy is in trouble.

Even global coins like Ethereum, which are paired with fiat on all exchange also experience the same pattern.

Yes it's bad, Altcoins are related to Bitcoin even if there can be slight differences, but the entire market is bullish if bitcoin is bullish and is bearish if bitcoin is bearish. I think yes because I know if the BTC down alcoin will go down and follow the movement because altcoin and BTC need each other then if Bitcoin price up altcoin will go up as well and now we better hold the altcoin we hold and wait for the price of our new rising BTC sell the altcoin we hold

It seems to form a new trend after a crash at the beginning of the year. Currently the crypto situation is like a single entity, especially on coins with a top 100 market capitalization. They interact with each other. But this of course can be utilized for decision making in managing portfolio.
Yes it is bad, altcoin prices often follow BTC's price. Bitcoin decides the market in general, it was meant to be like that. If you carefully see, when BTC goes up altcoins pump a little and further climbing up slowly with BTC's spike but if Bitcoin fall, majority of the alts are into the dip and can't hardly get back to it's price-leaving investors to dump more and buy BTC again. That is why BTC should remain and at constant surge.

Of course it is bad because most of alts value is tied with bitcoin as there's only a few alts that has usd pairing. If bitcoin goes down then they will also bear the impact, same when bitcoin price increase. We need more pairing outside bitcoin so they can be independent and actually increase in price when they achieve something.yes, I agree with you of course Bitcoin is very influential on Altcoin, Bitcoin is the mother of all coins so all coins depend on Bitcoin if BTC down it can be ascertained Altcoin down too.

All of the prices of altcoins are being influenced by Bitcoin. I think we need to find a way to stop getting influenced or relying on Bitcoin price. I am happy that Ethereum is stepping up to be another gateway for fiat currency conversion. However, it is not that kind of close yet. Here in the Philippines, banks are starting to implement Ethereum into their ecosystem for fiat-crypto conversion. Others such as Litecoin, Ripple, NEM and others are doing whatever it takes to finally end most of the Bitcoin price influence.
