It is possible to avoid scam projects but not entirely because some of the projects keeps changing their strategy to make their project looks real as possible if you'll be careful you can avoid them but it's really hard to filter out real projects to scam projects that's why I don't invest to new projects only if they only deliver what's on their whitepaper or if they are carefully following their roadmap. Results matter so I look to those things.

In this space almost every day someone is being cheated. It is very difficult to avoid all scams. Because there are always a lot of new people getting involved in cryptocurrency. These newbies are easily scammed. However, if we are a little careful and control our greed can be easily avoided.
And this is I believe one of the drawbacks that can be found in crypto space and as much as we wanted to get rid of those scammers I don't how would we going to do it but one thing would spare us to be a victim is to be observant and be cautious about the project. At the end of the day we ourselves are only the one who could help us to spare from those scammers. Always practice reading the white paper or have a proper research about the project before you invest.
A platform that can detect scam is not a 100%, we can not avoid all scam projects because some of them looks convincing and promising but a scam, it is difficult to detect them but still my advice is do your own research because at least you know what kind of the project that they running, you can still avoid the scam project just be careful what project do you invest.

This is a good guide that must be taken note by everyone. Thank you for this @valak. It is really challenging to discern which is which nowadays, especially that scams are rampant. And one thing we could do is to be doubtful enough to drive us to really scrutinize every detail that we could check to bring assurance somehow. But as they say, you’ll never really know so one should not be too complacent even after doing research.

It is difficult to determine which project is a scam or not, because sometimes a scam project also has complete information. however, although we cannot avoid scammers, we can minimize them. well, scammers have been around for a long time, and they can adapt. Scams are everywhere and anywhere you least expected, and certainly there's no investments that will give you profits in a short amount of time. So, if you encounter that sort of investments that are just too good to be true then it's best to decline or avoid it early because that will really cost you your money and time.

It is not going to be possible to eliminate scam crypto projects completely as far as what causes scam is still around, and that is man. This is not only the problem of cryptocurrency but every where even in religious gatherings, both mosques and churches. Man and his greed is everywhere causing havoc to life and making the innocent ones lose money. Scams in crypto projects are more pronounced because they involve alot of cash and most of the projects do not have a physical address they can be traced to.

Scam is something that one can't avoid completely. Scammers are constantly inventing more and more new complicated ways to deceive people and the only way to withstand this attacks is making a good analysis and double check everything before you send money anywhere.
