Participating in ICO requires experience for sure. You need to know how the ICO's work to understand if the ICO you are interested is safe or not. There are lots of scams trying to take advantage of investors so you need to be smart to avoid them. All in all it's safe if you are smart enough know who to trust or not.

Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.
You should really study their project first before investing on it. Read their whitepaper or check if the team behind it are real people that are really in that team, not just random photos from the internet.

It's investment.
You invest for their project by buying their tokens and the value of tokens would be proportional to profit of the project.
Most of the ICO's are profitable as their price would increase on reaching the market.
But some of them are total scams which would lead your investment to nothing.
So, study about the project before investing.

Yep sound advice..some ICO's can be very profitable. They get negative comments as there a few scams, if you do your own research you should be fine. Dont rely on others to do it for you.

Safe or not It depends on us as an investor to  manage the risk in investing in ICO. Invest in ICO is high risk high return so before jump it we should be have good risk management, like; to know  detail profile who is behind the project by checking their activities on github, to understand the purpose of the project and what problems they want to solve and what think makes them more interesting than others.

Some ICO's ends up successful and some ends up failed. So you still have to choose well before participating on some ICO's, better to read about their project first so you won't regret it at the end. And it always depends on the ICO, so better to be selective before participating. It is safe if everything went fine. The proper advice I can give to you is choose well, choose who has the potential, and choose the different one that can captivates the eyes of the people, in that way you can guarantee to yourself your are safe.

There are many projects with massive marketing now.
Scammers become smarter and invest huge amounts in pr/marketing before the sale.

So try to read "through" the marketing bullshit and don't go with the croud. "I invest where everybody invest" is not a strategy.

Read and try to understand the projects.

And ont beleive the numbers in FB/Telegram, they can be scammed as well

Participating in ICOs Is risky for people who are inexperienced and don't know how to find a legitimate project as most ICOs today are only scams.
Look for the projects which have a strong development team Which is experienced.
Look for projects which have a unique idea.
Try to find projects which have a working product.
I think all investments have risks not exception to ICO. you can see a lot of investors losing because ico to scam or ico is failing to enter the exchange or fail to run their project or no one uses the product from that ico. there are many possible risks in investing ico dude. therefore every investor is required to do picky on many ico so that they can choose and invest in ico which has good potential and good future..

If i can suggest, you can invest your money when it is listed on any marketplace. If you invest when ico its to high risk you have but also high return. It can be zero if its scam project or you can be rich if its success.
But still i recommend to invest when its listed on marketplace.
Investing in ICO is very risks, it is good to invest your funds when ICO is already successful and listed in exchange. But invest on what you can afford only, because there are many scam ICO's these days.

At present, if it is safe to invest in an ICO, I'm not 100% sure it is safe because more and more ICO projects are coming out, not all ICOs are of good quality and play well done. There are even a number of schemes that trick investors into making a profit for those ICO developers alone. But not all of them are. I advise, that if you intend to invest in an ICO project, it is important that you thoroughly understand it, the information and data must be transparent and clear. It is best to have a wallet to store separately for investors when receiving altcoin. Also find out about their development team, if they have the reputation and experience, you will be more secure.

If you want to participate in an ICO, you should first do some research on the ICO and read whitepaper to understand is it a scam or not.

For most of the upcomming ico yes it is safe because of the recent ban of ico in many countries many legit ico are asking for kyc because they are regulated. Take the case of jibrel network someone told me they are regulated by the swiss government so no scamming or cheating can happen.
In terms of return there is no guarantee that you will make profit but most projects will be legit now.

You shouldn't think that investing in ICO's are safe, all types of investments are risky and in ICO's you don't have an idea on many investors will be investing to that project and will support it's crowdfunding. Because there are a lot of scammers that are hiding in the veil of ICO and their very own purpose is just to scam people and they are now into ICO's. Beware of those developers that are leaving the project after the success of ICO.

In investing coins in ICO's there will always be a risk.  Aside from the most common of all which is the risk of being scammed there are also other factors that you need to watch for.  One of which is the rist in the coins price volatility,  no one can guarantee you that you will gain from investing in any coins.  All of the speculations are simply made by guessing but backed up by real research.
Therefore in order to succeed you must exert effort in reasearching anything about the coin you want to invest at.

We know that there are many ICOs coming out and many of them are possible to be just a scam. All kinds of investing is very risky so in participating in an ICO you should not spend so much but be sure you will earn.
