Yes, Myetherwallet is easy to use but i recommend you to use metamask extension. Safe than use private key on Myetherwallet. Metamask can use on Myetherwallet too.

You can try to download my crypto desktop wallet and it was providing a better security compared with MEW wallet. MEW has no offline desktop wallet and it will be so easy to be hacked or hijacked by the hackers. It is very easy to create a wallet using Myetherwallet but be aware of phishing or fake sites as i fall victim to this once. Fortunately though i have only a little amount on that hacked wallet. Advise to use metamask to better safeguard your assets.
Surely MEW is secure as long as you can save the private key with right ways. Personally, I don't save the private key online. Just keep the data of your MEW in offline computer. But it's my own strategy, if you have a better strategy in saving the data just go with it.

The recent phishing scams have mostly targeted MEW being that it can easily be cloned for wrong intentions. Honestly, I think it's secure, myetherwallet developers don't have access to your private keys, which means everyone must control and secure their keys. I haven't ever heard myetherwallet got hacked, just some people who lost their private keys and claim it has been hacked. Even most web wallets for bitcoin seems can not be hacked, unless you are reckless and the private keys could be accessed by the thief. The same theory for myetherwallet, electrum, blockchain, it's safe.

if you're going to use myetherwallet make sure you'll bookmark it
and always remind this if one site or one form redirect you to similar page of myetherwallet, leave that page its obviously a phishing site.

Well, based on my experience never had any problem with MyEtherWallet so far, its just a matter how you secure your wallet I guess. Hackers infiltrate your computer from vulnerability or where you stored your wallet that's how they able to hack some wallet but hacking myetherwallet its self never heard of it. So better secure your wallet when you decide to have one.

For all the wallet out there, i would still promote MEW and its very secured for me, i dont know about the others, but some says they have been scammed by hackers, maybe they were able to input to the untrusted sites which is common nowadays, to top it all, yes MEW is still secured.

I think it's stil safe to use myetherwallet because since i am started to use MEW i did not encounter or heard any negative issues that is why until now i keep on using and encourage my friends use.
