trade quickly to prevent the risk of the market going down again, but the market shows an upward movement for holders who started with the lowest price at that time, when compared with the current price, the estimated value of the asset can already be calculated profit, so if you want to invest you have to enter at the right time be precise with careful calculations because every action has risks

Altcoins have risks that are not necessarily time-specific, meaning they are risky at any time. Everything moves in a cycle and bitcoin is always the leader. At this time, bitcoin is the guideline, hold bitcoin, focus on observing it before the opportunity opens for the altcoin cycle to create waves. I guess, the opportunity to sort and reorganize altcoins is coming.
Everyone is aware of the risk that altcoins pose and they are consumed sometimes by the profits they can get from these altcoins and that's why many people fall victim of the dump so if you want to be in the category of investors that end up with regrets then buying some altcoins without proper research would be the best mistake you can do for yourself but when you consider the risk and facts behind an investment then you would understand that having Bitcoin as your major investment would be your best choice but having also some altcoins won't be a bad idea especially when the bull market has reached as they tend to pump fast and I would prefer a short term investment to avoid losses.

Investment in alternative coins is very high, especially if you invest in low liquidity altcoins or new projects, but there are several new projects that are successful. Even old coins, if we are not observant, can get stuck there, we can take the example of FTT which was dragged into the FTX case, many people thought FTT was a good coin because it was supported by FTX, but in fact it was also destroyed. Then Luna, the problem with alternative coins was very unexpected. Therefore, perhaps alternative coins are suitable as speculative coins (short term trading) but if it is an investment problem I will think a little and always be wary.

Wait OP, im this blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem, and when it comes to especially altcoins cryptocurrencies, is there ever a risk free time to go long on them? I doubt if that is true especially now that the technology is still in full infancy. Maybe in time, when the technology has grown matured and gained grounds and confidence in the mainstream.

It depends on the altcoin that you wanted to invest. Usually same narrative doesn't reappear in trending so if you wants to invest in meme project or Bitcoin and ETH hardfork project then I would say these narrative had their day and they are just some old project in the market. New project is more attractive and appealing to investors because they are the most potential one that can attract new investors and shows enormous growth.

Altcoins are very dangerous to invest for the long term. If you look at the chart of most altcoins, you can see that they rarely live longer than one cycle, which is about a few years. If you buy unsuccessfully at the high, you may never make a profit. But now is probably a good time to buy altcoins, because they have been at the bottom for almost a year.

Before you invest in altcoins at any time, first consider the risk associated with it, and if it's something you can cope with them you can go ahead and invest in it but if after all considerations, you find out that it's something you can't cope with, it's very much advised you leave it, the volatility is such that it could get you rich very fast and at the same time poor in days or hours as the case may be. Most times it's advised you DYOR and then go ahead to invest.

Sure, if youre investing for the long haul, Bitcoin's probably the safer bet.  But if you've got the stomach for it altcoins can provide some serious short-term gains... as long as you're ready to get tossed off once in a while.

Investing in altcoins is a rollercoaster.  There's no doubt about it - when they surge in value, it's incredibly tempting to ride that profit wave and make some quick gains.  But altcoins are unpredictable creatures, and before you know it, yesterday's top performers end up todays biggest losers.  It's a wild ride.
That type of risk is something I do not really enjoy in my life. I understand stuff like ETH and BNB because they are quite high too, and I end up investing into them, like doing that and in the end I do not end up with that much trouble with those two, and the yare considered altcoins as well so that's fine.

However, if we are talking about something bigger, basically something that could make it change big time, then I do not think that we are going to end up with a good result at all, it is going to hurt one way or another. I mean what you want to make is important, if you are chasing that 100x then your end result will probably be a loss, not that many projects make 100x, only a few does that and you will probably lose money chasing those few ones.

I would like to brief about the current market situation as there has been surge in value of altcoins a much higher surge compared to Bitcoin and many would have utilised this momentum to gain profit but if we look at the other side if you just look for top gainers you will find altcoins with top surge but the next day or after few days if you check the top losers you will find the same top gainers in this list as well. So there is a price increase for altcoin but not a established one like Bitcoin, because we have not seen dump in the value of Bitcoin for over an month now but Altcoins has been pumping and dumping and in my opinion it's not worth to make entery for long term as of now it's good only for quick profit whole being very active. What's your opinion ? Shall we invest or just involve in quick trades ?
Making decision to invest in altcoins depends on your risk tolerance, investment goals, and time commitment. Altcoins can be more volatile than Bitcoin, experiencing rapid price fluctuations due to market sentiment. While this volatility can offer opportunities for quick profits in short-term trades, it also poses higher risks. If you mean to invest, you better dont go on unestablished altcoins, the risk is to high. but it can be a good option for trading, because the rapid price fluctuations is a big chance to gain profit, if you have the time to actively monitor the market and make informed decisions.
Our risk tolerance would determine how much risks we are ready to take investing in a particular project. Those who had been in the market for long now knows how to calculate and make profits from projects even before the project have plan of crashing out.
This is a technique we need to learn how long we are meant to hold an altcoins before we sell it and take our profits.
We don't have to hold a project for too long if we are in for the profit especially for altcoins projects.
In the current situation, it is indeed suitable for making investments, especially for the short term, of course it is easier to make a profit, considering that market conditions are experiencing a small pump. If you want to invest long term, there is nothing wrong with this because in the current situation it is possible that the trend will continue to change where we have the opportunity to get bigger profits, but choosing top altcoins is the key to long term investment.

True, Altcoins can give higher returns in shorter period of time than Bitcoin but it's not guaranteed as Altcoin cannot doesn't have capability to bounce back like Bitcoin but it would be perfect for high risk takes for quick trades and definitely not for beginners unless they go with established Altcoin like Ethereum be because apart from Ethereum we don't have much options even coins like XRP, BNB, ADA and Matic may be risky if you invested at peak and market drops.

I agree with your point that Altcoins are more prefered for active tradings which comes at a risk factor wherein with Bitcoin we can have steady returns of we do it right.

There is excitement in the cryptocurrency market as altcoins surge ahead of Bitcoin. Many people want to use this moment for profit. However, altcoin growth seems to be unsustainable, with many quick gains followed by losses. For beginners, it may be better to engage in quick trades. Trading in the long term will not be successful for newly arrived beginners.

Investing in alt coins I still feel risky because I have invested in many alt coins in the past without any success. But I think not everyone has the same trading skills. Those who have good trading skills can earn by investing in alt coins in a short period of time.
I invested when the market was not very good but now the market is going up again now maybe it is right to invest in alt coins. But if anyone wants to invest in safe and risk free I would tell them to invest in Bitcoin.Because if the price of Bitcoin falls a little, it recovers quickly, so there is no fear of loss.
No it's not, when they will shoot they shoot More than Bitcoin

That righ @ivankoh Everything moves in a cycle. There are times when holding Altcoins makes a lot of profit. If we buy Alcoins now in quantity there will be a lot and if the price rises in the market it will indirectly increase profits. But, we have to be good at sorting because there are so many varieties. Usually the new ones are quite potential but sometimes the duration is short and you have to monitor them because many of them fall along the way.

Quick trades can be done by those who have enough experience in trading. Fast trading is very risky especially when you are just starting. Fast trading most of the time only happens in futures when you have a high leverage. If you're just starting, just focus on spot trading. Be patient, and learn more.

Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now?
It will depend on the altcoin you are buying.

If you will buy altcoins that are already established like those at the top in terms of market cap, the risk would be lower compare to those altcoins that has lower market cap. It will also depend on your risk appetite. Are you an aggressive investor that can risk your money buying low market cap coins, or are you a conservative one who wants only to buy those top altcoins.

Investing in general is risky, but it will decrease as soon as you have enough knowledge, and you know what you're buying, and doing. Investing is risky, but you will not gain profit if you will not risk. Investing into altcoins always have risk, but you have to take that risk if you want to make money investing into it. Smiley

Do it For Better Humanity (Bitget trader)
For me. This is the best time to buy some Altcoin. Most especially the new ones. I personally bought some. And Im still in hoping to buy more. I also used Bitget smart portfolio to pair some with ETH, SOL and Bitcoin and I've been getting more of those coins with the SOL pair lately because of the SOL pump. I'm sure that when the Bitcoin bull run starts, I'm gonna make more profit with my actions in the bear market.
be careful with corrections though nowadays most of the coin has increased more than 50%, even some reached 100%-300%, I believe it is a sign that we shouldn't recklessly invest otherwise we will get rekt, why? because usually buying at peak is never a good idea, there might be some correction waiting, or there might be even bigger rally waiting we don't know for sure thats why i would carefully invest my money at these time and still also observant towards the market, best opportunity to buy was when in bearish, but its already passed, now we only have coins that have risen quite highly.
I think we should wait until the news of ETF for both bitcoin and ethereum appear then we can make decision, SOL was increasing maybe because FTX was going to get revived under new management which supposedly also gonna help SOL grow, but we also can't be sure with that.

You gave me a good advice here. Most time when coin pumps, I follow blindly. I think the best time is truly after ETF. Also, seems FTX announced sell off and they locked up some SOL worth billions of dollars for two years. Although, I heard the ones that are meant to be sold are already being sold. So, I think you are right about not investing recklessly not to get rekt.
