I think it's still very good to invest in Ethereum for the time being, if you're sure it's time to start investing in ethereum, the prospects for the future are good and give you more results
First of all, I think that Ethereum is the best cryptocurrency on the market, and its price is very low now. I think this is a good time for us to invest. I believe that it will bring huge profits to us in the future.

it is true that until now there is no platform that has the most community besides Ethereum and Bitcoin but I prefer Ethereum over Bitcoin because Ethereum has many features not owned by Bitcoin 
When you have about 5000$ it is good to invest in ETH. But I would say that consider investing in three Altcoins. Ripple and NEM or any other coin that is doing well. It is simply this, that the value of ETH from 1000$ may run up to 1100$ in a course of 4 months let us say. And you have invested 5000$ in ETH which let us take to be 5 ETH coins. Then the net profit you make is 100$ per coin which is 500$.

In four months time if the value of NEM even moves to 0.6$ and you sell all your coins, you make a 1000$ profit.
