This is not a surprise that dollars are used for illegal activities. Everyone has saw films with drug dealers and their huge stacks of bucks.
I see more and more articles of the USD being used for illegal activities, such as funding of terrorists and unconstitutional, illegal wars, funding of wars that cause severe infringement of civil liberties like the war on drugs, among other things. I am pretty sure that when goons smash into convenience stores and steal stuff, then the money they probably steal is USD, which makes it criminal currency. Also, I am pretty sure that the baseball bats that majority of the goons have bought were paid for by the USD.
Also, most people collect rain water, drink raw milk, and throw cannabis seeds in soil, all three acts which are considered serious illegal felonies punishable by seriously expensive fines and extensive jail time, possibly life in prison.
Some people also walk, drive, fish, or hunt without a permit that can easily be bought for in USD.
Will this hurt USD in the long run? Will governments ban this just like they started to do with paying in cash for some services to harden the use of illegal activities, and money laundering?
Yes every kind of currency is being used for illegal currency like selling and buying drugs. Maybe this is the reason why the governments cannot legalize bitcoin because they think bitcoin is being used for illegal or criminal activities, that's we need to ban the people who are using bitcoin for illegal activities. Not only USD, other currencies also very possible to use illegal. Very difficult to stop the illegal activity because the currency used very free and anyone can use it.
It is not surprising that the dollar is a strong currency and recognized by all countries in the world, so it is not surprising that it is used in illegal activities, so countries should strengthen their control over the dollar.You mentioned the government's control over the strength of dollars, but its the fault is on the humans, there will always be reasons behind these illegal activities.

I didn't saw this thread, and I'm going trough comments and I'm a bit surprised that discussion about this is last so much. Everyone and everything can be used for illegal activities and for evil agendas, nothing is immune. That is the logic, can someone explain me how can plant's that grows from the ground can be illegal? Who is that man that gave so much power to himself to claim something like that? Legal and illegal is in the end one man opinion. It doesn't represent what is good and bad in reality, I don't agree with many laws in this world, most of them are stupid and without any sense.

All currencies are subject to be used in illegal activities like drug dealing, funding terrorism, illegal arms dealing etc. I believe its one of the most abused things in the world, existence of money creates more evil and greedy people but not all.
Even cryptocurrencies are prone to abusive use and people doing evil things more like it, they took advantage and benefit from its anonymity and limitless transactions.

The USD is doubtless used for the most illegal activities in the world, but other currencies are used as well for illegal activities. The government can prohibit what they want, illegal activities will always exist and in most times paid in cash.
You mean illegal transactions. US dollars or other fiats are being the payment of their activities and if they want a little bit of anonymity, they use bitcoin. And yes, illegal activities will always exist to balance the world. We can't just leave at peace because that will be really making the world not balanced.
Though US dollars are not that used because it always depends on the country, and if another country will be paying another country, they will use a currency that has a higher value than US dollar.

Maybe he is talking about the other anonymity here, like when you send a cash to another person maybe meeting up in a place and doing the transaction. But still, there is no way a US dollar will be anonymous, if it is anonymous, then why government can still track transactions happening. In bitcoin too, they can still track it but in the different way.

No doubt about that. We know how powerful is the US and of course their currency. It is the fiat currency of the world. All prices were based on their currency. And yes, maybe, the USD was used for crime and still using it. Actually all money were used for illegal activities. Example is the money seized from the hideout of the Maute group here in the Philippines. So as long as there were evil plans, people will likely to use any forms of money to expand and continue their illegal activities.
