What do we have to say about this?

I don't believe I am addicted to gambling, but I do believe that individuals have control over their actions. It is ultimately up to them whether they become successful or not in gambling, and they are responsible for their own lives. If you want to stop gambling, take control of your decisions and don't blame others for your actions. Everyone has the potential to win, but not everyone will. The problem arises when addicted individuals continue to gamble in the hopes of winning, even when they are losing too much money. Accepting that loss is a natural part of the game is important and can help prevent addiction.

Happy Christmas to all gamblers. I have been reading some threads and comments that many people have been saying that they find it very difficult to stop gambling (not only gambling addicts), but on one hand, I really think that it is not hard to quit gambling even when you are winning and not winning, but it is you who can't control yourself. Bets can not force one to stake, but a gambler can force themselves to stake a bet, even when he or she does not have money to bet. Some gamblers did not learn how to gamble. They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
What do we have to say about this?
In gambling the easiest way to identify a gambling addict is in the  lost of self control in how they gambling, don't have time when to gamble and when not to leave. I have heard of a gambler who couldn't leave the gambling house when the set  time for a meeting appointment he was booked for clocked even when his wrist watched which he had set alarm for the time rang he just turned it off and continued gambling.  Such is an explicit example of gambling addiction a lack of slef control and money management while gambling, the only time you see them pause is when they have lost all the money they came with. The untold truth is that when wild gambling has taken over you there's no stopping.

It all about the person mentality, like I always say we all have choices to make in life, you can choose to be an addict or not with the right mindset and self discipline, one can make better choices of his decision.  You can be choose not to gamble anymore, you don’t allow the game to have control of you rather you should have control over the game. Be the man in charge don’t let the game overwhelm you, don’t allow your emotions to have a hold of you because when it does you end up chasing lose which is not good thing for gambling.
So yeah, a person can stop gambling for good if he sets his/ her mind to it and tries to maintain his principle and to that you have to stop and block every nooks of getting into gambling activity. Be aware that you can actually do better without gambling this will even make you thinking about gambling less important. This realization can make one not wanna gambling much. Set your mind right know when to stop and when to quit.

You are simply saying so because you are not an addict to gambling, and since you have never been there, you see it as something very easy to do. It is easy to criticize people from outside, when you have never been in their shoes.

Some gamblers did not learn how to gamble. They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
Lack of self control is the primary characteristic of a gambler, so if a gambler cannot control themselves, it simply means that they are getting addicted to gambling, or addicted already.

Happy Christmas to all gamblers. I have been reading some
They just see themselves doing it, but they can't stop it. Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
What do we have to say about this?

the distinction between wanting to quit gambling and desiring to limit gambling activities is important. Many individuals who engage in gambling find themselves unable to restrain their participation, even if they haven't developed a full-blown addiction. This difficulty in holding back is frequently fueled by the optimistic belief that the next round might yield a significant win. Consequently, they end up playing more rounds than initially intended.

Quitting gambling is notably more achievable when attempted before falling into the grips of addiction. However, for those already struggling with addiction, the process of regaining control over ones self becomes difficult.

A Merry Christmas to you too mate.

Addicted or not, we're the one that casts our bets and no other people will do that for us. And that means, if we don't move at all then there's no bet at all.

Just like what you have said OP, we can control it if we're still have control to ourselves but when we lose that. We'll gamble no matter what happens and we can't stop it.

If someone runs out of bankroll or money and still want to gamble, that's the worse part of it. Because you'll never know what a gambler can do by that time.

not addicted gambler yet can't control himself to keep betting is kind of contradicting.

when someone is addicted to gambling, it can be hard to stop. some of them will even commit a crime to have some money to sustain this vice. there's got to be a point where they snap and decide to keep gambling to achieve the desired profit. but even those gamblers who won the first time they gambled end up addicted.

i read in one thread one gambler is addicted to winning which led this person to keep betting. but money is always the cause. if a gambler has no desire for lots of money, he may not keep doing it.

It's clear that the OP lacks a full understanding of addiction. Explaining addiction varies, and sometimes overcoming it requires external support to develop the strength to resist urges. Quitting for someone gambling for six months is easier than for a 15-year gambler. Just stay away from gambling if you know that you may lack the discipline to stay disciplined. It is something that will bring untold pains to your family members if you ever get hooked on it.

I can say this is like your view or perception of those who are gambling addicts, which is not so because the initiation of addiction starts from the brain, which is responsible for a certain substance called neurotransmitter dopamine that triggers pleasure, which is capable of making you do something and end up thinking why you did it, or you will be thinking maybe you were possessed by a jinn, which is not true, so the initiation of addiction is from the brain. In other circumstances, it might be inherent (genetic), environmental, or psychological factors. These three I just mentioned are also some factors that influence addiction.

So if you are addicted to something, it will be very hard for you to stop it within a short period of time. That is why many people who are already addicted find it hard to stop gambling or anything they are addicted to. It's not that you can’t stop doing what you are addicted to; you can, but it will take a very long time before you stop. For instance, someone who has been addicted to alcohol can’t say he will just stop it in a day but start reducing it bit by bit. By reducing the number of bottles he is talking about, if he is talking about six bottles a day, he will reduce it to three a day after a week or more. He can also reduce it to one and a half after a week, then he can reduce it to a half bottle after some weeks to just a cup. From there, he can forfeit the use of alcohol forever. If you can see the time it takes to stop the use of alcohol in this case study, you will know that addiction takes time before you can stop it, so don’t blame those who have been addicted to gambling or other things that can be addictive.

What do we have to say about this?

Folks who gamble a ton and can't put on the brakes likely have some issues with acting without thinking.  That whole impulsiveness thing is when someone does stuff spur-of-the-moment without pondering the results.  Lots of gamblers struggle with that, since betting can feel rewarding super quick and takes no effort.

Anyway, if someone's unable to control their gambling and struggles to stop, it might mean they have poor impulse control.  That causes problems since gambling offers fast easy thrills.

There is something trickish about gambling that you don't know and I'm sure that you don't gamble or you are not type that loves gambling even for fun. I have seen people that start gambling as a fun thing but on the way, they didn't know how they change and become so conversant with gambling and you know what trigger them to that level, it's the money that draw them to that extent, there is money in casinos and the moment it's enter you eyes to win, you will want to do any thing to get the bar.

Bets cannot force you to bet but your subconsciousness is the one that makes you do it even when you don't have interest in it, there will be a time when you don't want to be or you might bet and then lose interest after some loss but by the time you see any person win a bets, it's excite you to give it a try especially when you have some change. There are some situations that you might have small amount left with you and after you calculated it that it will not be enough to do what you want, you mind will tempt you to bet with the rest of the money and double it, it's not your brain but subconsciousness want you to try the gambling.

That's the thing difficult with pleasure; people who find it difficult quitting gambling are simply ones who feel pleasured or satisfied with themselves especially whenever they are playing. What makes it hard to quit? I doubt that it is entertainment which is why, but rather the idea of earning profit or getting rich in an instant. People are too hopeful of 'fast and easy food'.On the other hand, playing daily won't do you any good in this industry. It will just increase the risk you will go against with, and chances of losing. Emotions are too powerful and it is something which won't make you stop betting along with a strong desire of winning money.

I quite agree with the idea that escaping such exposure to gambling will just allow them to be more into it especially if there are things we desire of such as profit. Self discipline is hard to apply  'coz almost all of us gamblers are into money. Stopping a behavior won't also be an efficient solution but rather to take things slowly until you get that point of not worrying something.

Self control and discipline is what a gambler needs to have so that he can know when to stop gambling. Some gamblers lack these virtues and that is why they end up becoming an addicted gambler with time frame. Any gambler that is not an addict and cannot control their desire to gamble, will finally become addicted.

This is why it is important for one to create out a time frame in which he will use for his gambling activities and when that time elapse, he should quit playing either losing or winning to enable him control his loss. Another thing is to have a gambling budget for the week, and when that is exhausted, you gamble no more till when it is time for another budget to be used. Greed can also make a gambler consider stop as a no go option, because he was to make profit and he Wil keep on chasing his losses.

It's a choice based option for gamblers just as you already said no game will force you to stake or if you don't released money to stake no time you will gamble except such person doesn't have a personal say of he or herself. We can quit gambling if we are determined to do that but why can't some people stop does it mean that their lives are dependant of gambling or are
they waiting to make a live changing winning before quitting gambling?
No because when they even hit that which they wanted it serves as an avenue to reenforce in their wager or to whatever amount they planned for gambling like me I can stop gambling entirely or even take a break for some while before I resume again.

Anyone that is gambling and not able to control it simply means that the person is becoming an addict already or he is already an addict. If you are gambling and you are losing but not able to control it but you continue to lose and you continue to gamble, that means you are an addict.
