you will see that at the next Champions League, Atalanta will do even better
it's a solid team, built well over time so every year they will do better to become a great team
you will see, I have adopted them as my favorite team for how they think and act

Atalanta is still a favorite for me to be able to compete in the Top 4 next season. Although in the transfer market this time they are not so aggressive. With a minimal line-up, but able to carry out the coach's strategy well, Atalanta have been able to maintain their performance in several seasons. Maybe, to be a candidate for champions like the previous 2 seasons hard for them, but with the condition of Inter Milan having just changed coaches, Milan may still have a problem with their consistentcy, maybe Atalanta will be the runner up, while the champion will probably be won again by Juventus.

The performance of Atlanta with an average quality team last season is truly commendable. No one would say Atlanta is a strong team. But their performance is very stable. From defense to forward lineup, players in both places have tried their best to play well. The coach’s strategy was awesome. Hopefully they will be in the top 4 next season too.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Atalanta only were beaten by the very late goal from PSG and they almost won that match till very late minutes. It is the season Atalanta appeared in the Champions League and made big shocks but more surprisingly, they did not fall to a downside after that.

2 seasons later, they are still playing at the top of Serie A, it is very impressive and they ended the last season at 3rd position without Papu Gomez. The ex captain had big role in Atalanta tactics and it is so surprising to see Atalanta kept up the good work without Papu in the whole season. It proves that Atalanta can move forward well and won't depend on a single player.

Atalanta's progress is good, seeing from their performances they are so solid and every season will definitely achieve what they want I know they have big dreams of winning Serie A and other competitions without popular players but with their perseverance they can make good and even rise from everything what is needed includes their own players who are able to play even better.

It will be very surprising Atalanta can compete again with Inter Milan and Juventus if they have surpassed their capabilities there is no doubt that solidity will certainly change the scheme of the game and it will become even stronger.
We look forward to this season.

@SquirrelJulietGarden there’s no doubt about the potential of Atlanta player’s, but now to grow they should reinvest in the market and try and challenge harder for the title rather than just be happy finishing in top 10.
Top 4, did you mean so and only made a typo (top 10)?

I think Atalanta will have solid position in top 6 or 7 but top 4, they will have to fight so hard. The competition to finish in top 4 of national leagues is never easy and if competitors are strong and stable in whole season, result will be so tight and Atalanta are not dominantly strong than other clubs in Serie A.

Quote
Furthermore I hope they don’t sell anymore player’s, cause to achieve success during this season they need to retain their core player’s.
They will sell players and all clubs will have sells and buys on the transfer market. The challenge for Atalanta is how to sell to get financial income and reinvest it good enough to maintain the team's strength.

Indeed, their names are not as famous as Juve, Milan, Inter or Roma. But Atalanta are a good team, they don't have many stars but they can finish better than Juventus. Remember in 2019 Atalanta qualified for the UCL knockout stage. If I'm not mistaken at that time Atalanta only used players who, in total, equaled half of Ronaldo's salary. This is proof that Atalanta should not be underestimated, they are a strong team. I don't know for next season but buying new players is an option to strengthen.

because for me Atalanta still remains a small club in Serie A compared to the big ones with much bigger history.

After Inter Milan get bigger problem I think scudetto next year get back by Juventus, now they have seriously to get experience coach Allegri and kicked out Andrea Pirlo after failed give Scudetto for Juventus although success with Coppa, I think after Antonio Conte left Inter Millan look not take higher level under Simone Inzhagi how ever many great player sell from Asley Young and now have left Achraf Hakimi.
With Max Juventus can get the Scudetto in a next season but they will not easily get it. Inter Milan might likely have a downside but AC Milan will grow more. Also other clubs can bring more challenge to Juventus. They might not be strong enough to fight for the Scudetto but can steal points from Juventus and contribute to the competition between Juve and Milan.

It will be a good Farewell for Ronaldo in Juventus.

Indeed, and with this improvement, of course Atalanta must also compensate for other factors but, if they are able to grow and be consistent with just mediocre players then I don't think that will be a problem either. Currently top players still can't give a 100% guarantee for an achievement but indeed, when there are top players in a team of course it will increase a lot of advantages from all sides until the team can become even bigger.
Atalanta need to have good substitutes for their players in their squad. They will leave the club some days. The most impressive things I saw from Atalanta in the past season is not because they ended it at third position. It is how they kept up their good works without Papu Gomez. We know Papu used to be a most important players of Atalanta but they played well without him. Very impressive.

Atlanta Bergamo will probably finish high again next year, but I don't think that is a team that can become champions in the league in the long run. They have actually outperformed expectations for years. Inter Milan, Juventus and a few other clubs will continue to rule. Juventus has been very disappointing in the last year, by the way. Now that the covid pandemic is almost over, I expect it will be between them and Inter. AC Milan outsider.

Atalanta has only been up to these levels these last years and not before. They were a low quality team in Serie A most of the time and no one took them seriously. However with the latest investments and transfers they managed to play in Champions League lately. If they want to keep this level of quality they have to increase their spending as Serie A is a very competitive Championship for many small teams, because for me Atalanta still remains a small club in Serie A compared to the big ones with much bigger history.

These type of teams who are usually not good but become good have a difficult path in the future as well. What is that hard thing? Well players always want to get paid more and play in a team that may end up winning the league at least, or even a European cup as well, Atlanta is not that team (maybe europa if they are lucky) and that means players will want to go to a team that can do that whereas Atlanta will not be able to keep them easily. So what can they do? Well look at Leicester, they are a team that won the league once, but then they sucked however they recovered and doing fine for the last 2 seasons.

So, they should learn from them instead of all the other teams that worked harda nd then lost it afterwards. It is not an easy task, it is going to be very tough, but if they are smart about it they could actually become a top 5 team for decades.

I am also quite amazed by Atalanta's achievements in the last 3 seasons by always entering the Champions League spot, this actually proves
Atalanta is quite consistent in the last 3 seasons. Atalanta sold some of their players as you mentioned, it's natural to make the club's finances
stable. Because a team like Atalanta doesn't earn a lot of money, it's necessary to sell their players to help finance the club. I think Atalanta's
current success is because Gian Piero Gasperini's strategy is working very well, even though Gasperini failed to coach Inter in 2011.
But with Atalanta he was quite successful by bringing Atalanta to always finish in the top 3 for 3 consecutive seasons.
3 seasons are long and with the return of AC Milan, and AS Roma, the next season will be very challenging for Atalanta. If they will be able to end in the top 4 or the third position, they will demonstrate their powerful position in Serie A.

Success of a club is contributed by many people, coach, players, scouts, sport director, and medical team, etc. Atalanta succeeded with their small transfers like Dortmund and the players they bought at cheap price, are all playing well for them.

If you watch the match Portugal and Germany, Gosen is a player from Atalanta. They discovered him, gave him chance to develop his career and got a call for Germany squad.

Atalanta has been following this plan for many years, for years it has rebounded from Serie A to Serie B, strengthening itself year after year
it's like Amazon, which has a 100-year plan..

that is, it does not have a centennial plan but has a long plan, and calmly

Well, they have to bump things up a bit otherwise, it might become too late to do so. Now that the big teams in seria A are having difficult winning games and actively competing for the title, this is the perfect opportunity for them to snap it under their noses. I believe that in the coming season, top teams would strengthen their squads while dropping some deadweight and when that happens, it would be difficult for upcoming teams like Atalanta to get anymore shot at winning the title. It has to be soon before that opportunity window closes.

But the Italian national team has several players from Atalanta, very good players who are playing very well in Euro 2020.
Of course, the two clubs are at different levels, but Atalanta has been growing very well.
I agree with some Atalanta players playing for the national team, it proves Atalanta has quality players. Unfortunately Atalanta don't have
the finances of Atletico Madrid, so Atalanta can't buy the star players that Atletico can do. So I agree that both have different levels, but that
doesn't mean Atalanta can't improve. I believe Atalanta can develop into a better team, but it will be even better if Atalanta can get a new owner,
so can buy some star players.
Atlanta become most destroy team if keep consistent every year and keep dominance to get slot for champion league, we know almost three years Atlanta always pass to champion league without with qualification stage, They have more potential and quality player and last year sold Papu Gomez to Sevilla, they get much money and lately sell young player to Manchester United too.

I am also quite amazed by Atalanta's achievements in the last 3 seasons by always entering the Champions League spot, this actually proves

I don't think Atalanta will last that long. In France, Lyon became the champion for 7 years in a row, but now they are only fighting to get into the Champions League. In Italy, Juventus, Milan and Roma are currently performing rather poorly, so such clubs as Atalanta and Napoli are taking the lead. As soon as the former favorites gain strength, Atalanta will take his place in the middle of the table.
