I think it turns out 20th June is return date. That is not really all that different from other major leagues, that will be a very compact period for football all around the world. I think it is a good date because we are already going down right but given 3 more weeks that is going to make huge changes as well.

Right now I think the recovery will take a bit more time, because the death rate is going down and that is not going to be a lot at all, now that the hospitals are not filled to brim with sick people, they are capable of treating them much better, but that also means that people will feel better about going out and we gonna get an increase in infection once again but it is not going to be that high, it is going to be a fine amount, if we can go over that hump, it is all clear skies for us.

Ok THE day was Yesterday and Today we know what will happen with a *, I will explain later what it is.

Dates

13-14 JUNE Return simifinal Leg for COPPA ITALIA

JUVE-MILAN
NAPOLI-INTER

17 JUNE  Final Coppa Italia

20 JUNE recovery missing games
4 Games

23 JUNE the start of the missing part of the season

Now to the *.
They still have the rule of "if anyone not only players but anyone of the staff will be positive, the entire team must fo in quarantine for a total of 14 days".

The doctor teams are trying to change this rule as Germany is doing so, test for everyone, and quarantine only for positives.

Today is the day we will know if (probably yes) and when the season will start.

The idea is 13th June , recovery games.

20th June next turn.
So soon we will know when the Serie A resuming day. The best is on 13th June and the worse is on 20th June. I don't see the worst, no resume at all. It means the league has turned to positive direction, to resume it, not to cancel it after all. All looks good and we are waiting for official announcement to restart Serie A.

If the last solution, playoff and playout will be chosen, it will bring the Serie A to a very old league format many years ago. In modern time, there is no league applies that format for many years. Because of the pandemic, everything can happen and the best thing is always seeing the league finish. Fortunately, what we have seen recent weeks only bring us to better news, and better condition for the social resume and Seire A resume.

Yeah that part makes very little sense.

Yup, if the season will stop again for a case the only solution is playoff and playout...
Ruppublica a famous journal here talked about 8teams playoffs  Grin

Imagine Milan winning the title as 8th team  Grin

Still, a bad point on the protocol, if a player will find positive the whole team need to do 40 days of quarantine.

And the same question over and over rise: How they can end a season if one it will find positive?
Yeah that part makes very little sense. What if the infected player played in a match, what happens to the opposite team? They should be quarantined as well.
The way the announcements were made in the past I understood that if one players is discovered to be infected after the restart, the leagues will immediately get cancelled.

So, they modified the protocol again and the minister of sport is happier now but more under pressure since even Liga now said they will start.
He releases a statement saying that Serie A will likely start on June 13 or 20.

The last meeting will hopefully be for May 28, they must first see the effects of the start of phase 2 which occurred last week after the incubation period of the virus.

We are not going to see the league to be restarted till the end of June.
It is very sad though to see those teams that were competing for the league like Juve, Lazio and Inter playing the critical games in a month full of warm temperatures like July. Players cannot give 100% at those temperatures.

The start of the league will probably be sooner than the end of the month!
They are thinking on starting in mid-June and maximum on the 20th of June.

The temperature in mid-June in the evening is not so bad here, probably it will be around 26 °C.
Keep also in mind they will probably do some cool off tie-breaks.

Money is not everything in life, life is everything in life Cheesy.

Agree but most people need to works to get money to buy food, without food you will die too.
So where is possible we need to with all possible precautions to start the old life.

Anyway, fresh news! The minister of the sports for the 1st time is confident for a restart and for a good result on the last meeting sheduled for 28th May.

Money is not everything in life, life is everything in life Cheesy. If even one player dies, just one of them, everyone will realize that all of that money that could be earned would be for nothing. Hence I feel like the return would be too soon. Plus, there is a quicker recovery in Italy compared to many places only because they literally died to get rid of the virus. In other places it takes longer because people are trying to recover from it and that takes time compared to dying.
The more death tolls before, the more already infected people in the community, and the higher chance to sooner get herd immunity. There are cost and no one want to be among the deaths but it is life. I don't think players want to see league will be canceled or the next season will be canceled too. No one want that but if life goes hard, it will happen.

You can still bring back football, but I still suggest keeping everyone in check for a longer period of time, it is not only about players with no corona playing since that is safe, it is about also protecting the players from getting corona which will be very tough work to do when you let them be.
Fortunately, the curve above shows the fact that the lockdown has its good results and the percent of already infected people probably is high. Maybe it still is lower than 60% but it is high than the percent at other nations.

I both agree with you to be vigilant. However, somehow "the show must go on"! Leagues should be made playable by taking all necessary measures. This is necessary for people who have to stay in their homes for days more than anything else. Moreover, even if we cannot keep athletes away from this disease with a discipline, then very difficult days are waiting for us ...

I do not really see a reason to really continue

There is a valid reason called Money.
Football is not only the 22 people on the pitch for the game.
Football in Italy is the 3rd sector for working, with over 100.000 people working on it, from doctors, coaches, warehouse workers, gardeners...
Football money net is 6.000.000.000 € in Italy with over 1 billion taxes, that is why they want to start again.

Those are the active cases right now in Europe and as you can see Italy is not so bad now, the curve is going down quite quickly.
The hope is that the virus will not spread again ofcouse.

The virus is much under control Italy has opened up everything in Europe People are back in their workplaces but everyone is moving consciously. With the virus under control, Italian football teams are set to resume and every player is already joining the game In that case I don't see any way to stop it It has gained legitimacy and the players are preparing for the next match.

@coinlocket$ you’re absolutely correct as money was the key factor why their government gave them the permission in the first place, and in my personal opinion I too feel that they’re correct to resume the league otherwise many will loose their jobs and that’ll not be good for their country’s economy. @Negotiation indeed the efforts of the Italian government have been rewarded, and now I’m eagerly looking forward for the Italian league to start again.

I don't know how much beforehand you have to start training before you could actually go into games but I feel like if these players are left alone they may still infect others when the time comes.

Definitely these players will heal, however (and this goes for any league) if people are left alone, like go back to their homes and not in lockdown, they could probably get the virus from somewhere and come back. So it would be basically risky to even start, right now bundesliga is doing fine but they were pretty clean anyway, as a nation they didn't do that bad at all. So for nations like UK and Italy it is a bit more risky, they have to find a way to not just keep checking if they have the virus or not, because that is not enough, you need to also prevent them from getting it as well.

I do not really see a reason to really continue, some other leagues may do it but Italy had the worst (maybe USA is worst now) in all of this pandemic and thats really horrible if you just count it like its nothing and go back to sports right away. I get that coming back would basically allow people to stay at home even more because they have been stuck for so long that they are bored and everyone who likes football will stay at home and watch it while even some people who normally wouldn't but bored because of it would stay at home as well.

However there is also the fact that if you make people realize football is free and can be played and there is nothing wrong, they will feel like maybe pandemic is no longer a problem and they could be a little bit less careful and that could result in death, not many death because I doubt there is people who are that idiotic, but there are few who will be and I think thats still a risk I am not sure if league should take.
