seems that this year is finished for audience/spectators on football grounds in Italy, if the season is continuing, it will be without spectators for this season and start of next season, at least this is something that Italian government currently thinking about
If Italy government allows playing in stadiums the with crowded audiences, will you come to stadiums? It is not beyond what I thought, and my hope is seeing the season finishes in closed stadiums, then we will have next full normal season. Clubs will fight rest matches to find out who is winner, and who will go to Europe next season. This is my very last wish for this season.

Italy are being a bit more optimistic than they should.Sure the number of infections and deaths goes down daily but if they are not careful they risk another deadly wave of the virus. If all people do their part and stay locked at home until early May then we may see a situation where certain games can be played in closed doors. It is only suicide to let crowded fans be part of the game.
Currently watching situation and after this going with closed doors is best option for all as we are not going to have this all normal in near future so closed doors and going with all required measures for players is really needed if we need to complete this season safely.

I have read that they want to use a solution in England to have all games played at Wembley.
That could also be an idea for Italy. But then remains the question how fair this will be, since it must be played without long breaks.
A mini competition or 2x25 minutes would be better, but then you are stick to the rules of the FIFA/UEFA.

Maybe we are getting news from different sources, here is the news where it says that Serie A clubs "unanimously" agrees to cut their players' salary with the exception of Juventus who have cut their salaries for their players and as well as their staff a little bit earlier than the decision. However this agreement was only made between club owners and they are still waiting for the player's association for their counter proposal since they think that a 1/3 salary cut is something inadmissible for them. This only shows that the players themselves know that if they don't take a salary cut themselves the club where they are playing might be in a deeper financial trouble.

Yeah I had ear the news back on days but I don't think is official, it should be only a proposal agreed "if", I can maybe wrong.

At the moment only the agreement between Juventus and Juventus's player is official, the rest is only speculation and nothing official.
I'm sure the rest will follow the example of Juventus but for the moment nothing is official.

They are now talking about the possibility to play one game by the end of May.

They are also talking about the new season played with closed-door till the end of this year (of couse if we will have a vaccine this idea will be removed)

The lockdown has been extended here in Italy till 03 May 2020 so players cannot go to training before that date.
They can train ofcourse on their private gyms at home but they can't go on the team field.

I think if the things go right, they cannot play before the 20 May at best (but as I already said several times I think the season is already over)
I don't think the season is over, with the rest matches, the Serie A need about 2 months to finish if the league will be reopened. Maybe shorter depends on the intensity of matches per week. It is always better for Serie A to finish this season, with any period of delay. Finish the season with 2 or 3 months of postpone is not too bad. The delay finish day will surely affect next season but the effects will go away after 2 or 3 seasons by stretching finish days for next 2 - 3 season for a bit later. As always, they all depend on the pandemic.

Well, even with 30% reduction on player salaries we are talking about a lot more money that could be lost, think about it these teams are making money from tv rights as well as jersey sales and ticket sales and competition prizes and many other stuff while still paying for almost everything like nothing happened. They didn't closed shop and fired players like a company, they are still paying the same amount of money every month like nothing happened which means they need to give players 30% less AND also continue to play the games in order to be able to save themselves. Without that type of sacrifice from the players these teams going to be in big trouble.

Juventus is a huge team I am sure they will be fine, other big teams would be fine as well but the smaller teams need this ASAP to not go bankrupt.

for now only the juventus players have accepted the 30% salary reduction there is an arm wrestling between the football league and the players' union to be able to agree on this reduction, however the league insists on playing the remaining matchs of the current season at the end of the lockdown i think more for the pay tv revenue...

Yes it is a contract that needs to be fulfilled.
But this is not good for the health of the players as they will be at risk.
The salary reduction is not a big of a deal as Juve players are getting paid a lot of money.

I haven't seen any news about players and their teams having conflicts with regards to cutting their salaries where they aren't playing, Juventus, Milan, Inter all have agreed to cur their salaries ever since the league was suspended and even some top flight clubs in the EPL as well as LaLiga have cut the salaries of their staff and players. The main issue right now that I see with Serie A is regarding how hard are they trying to resume the league when in fact Italy hasn't even recovered yet from this pandemic, some of their players not a resident in Italy are on their home country which just shows that these players are not even ready to return back to play.

They are talking about law for the whole serieA with a reduction of players' salaries for months where they are not training.
If this law will be approved, almost for sure, every player will have the cut.

Italy is living this a lot harsher than any other nation right now, and that would probably show at Serie A as well. For example Bundesliga is making some sort of arrangement to come back during May and that kind of makes sense because they do not have too many death and they are handling it very well and they are not getting too much infection neither, so they saw what happened at other places and took care of their country very well, which shows that they can come back at May to football. However looking at Italy there are a lot more deaths and more % of people dying from corona, hospitals are not enough for the amount of people infected and so forth so they are not going to recover that quickly. This means there will be games probably at earliest july if you ask me, before that they can only manage to try to recover from the disease and can't really focus on football just yet.

We don't know if corona virus would be getting lower and lower, think about Swine Flu for example, it didn't really killed all that much people in the first 100 days but then got bigger and bigger, these are exponential viruses and even though we did take care of this one before anything worse happened and we are doing much better than anticipated by CDC and WHO, we are still in danger. So to say that by around May or June we are going to be just fine, is really knowing what future holds, which nobody can do.

I still think coming back this soon is a dangerous thing, how about they continue by end of July instead? Like start the league by 20th of July and finish it during August, that way we know it is postponed enough, and players could rest during September and come back by October for the next season.

For the most countries we are going to see the outcome of this era of quarantine during May.
I think that Italy is going to end up with coronavirus during June. And of course, this means that Serie A is not going to start till then. They have serious problem right now that they need to alleviate first.

I think the teams will resume training activities in the next 10-15 days. ~snip~
what would it be like if a football player didn't train for a long time. of course it is a big loss if the players lose their individual skills, on the other hand the club has no income because all matches are suspended. hope all football clubs can still practice even in closed training grounds.
