I wasn’t aware that football clubs were contributing money to Italy, but I’m really glad to see that clubs are generously donating funds during this crisis. While I understand that the lockdown is tough for people in Italy but I hope they’ll strictly follow it and defeat coronavirus for good. Also I’m very happy to see that the death rate is coming down in Italy, and now we all should sincerely pray for them as they need our prayers in this difficult time.

It is fitting for a football club to donate some money to fight the corona virus in Italy. If I am a wealthy person, then my heart wants to donate, but what little can I contribute in my area?
Italy does need a lot of money for this corona opponent because the death rate there is so big every day, even though it has begun to reduce, but the level of caution must be present especially in us.
In Italy many clubs have already contributed, meaning that there are still people who are kind enough in times like this and I can only pray that in the near future it will not get worse in Italy.

People will remember who help them when they needed it and who failed them.
Some football teams, China, Russia, Albania? are helping Italian people and governments with money, medical goods and staff while European Union and European countries aren't giving much help which is shameful!
Germany help Italy to care of some severity cases. I don't know how many severe patients have been cared by Germany, as one of their supports to the nearly collapsed heath system in Lombardy area but their help is much appreciated if we know Germany has still faced with their own pressure during the pandemic in their nation.

Other teams should follow too, even some foods or surgical masks that costs nothing, not even a one month salary of the least paid player, will be much appreciated by everyone...
Kindly help will be always appreciated.

Good news, at first we have some signals for better results from the virus containment in Italy. Accoridng to ISS's updates, the new infected cases in the last 5 days have been in a mild downward trend but we need next 2 weeks to have a more confirmed downward trend. Let's see.

The expansive orders till end of April (if will be approved by the President Conte) will help the nation has more effective fight against the virus and this pandemic.

In the meantime, locals have to help the government and themselves by seriously obey lockdown's rules. Just obey rules next 4 weeks, then they can start to think of enjoying lives again.

It is good to know that football clubs across europe are doing their best to support one another during this pandemic,
And also good that countries are sending help to one another across europe and the world.

This is to show that we are one, and we share love throughout the world via sports.
Hope this ends soon enough.

Not your keys, not your coins!
however Juventus have set a good example all the players have accepted the 30% salary reduction until they return to play, it seems that the league has decided (to be confirmed) that all the remaining matches will be played and the championship will end at half July...

This is not true is one of the possibility but IMHO it can be done cause if they can play they will play EURO cups and not the national championship.

They have a lot of ideas but no one confirmed yet

  • No games at all
  • All games on summer
  • Playoff
  • Canceling the Seria A but keep the position for cups
  • Watching last year leaderboard
According to https://www.ft.com/coronavirus-latest, the epidemic in Italy has began to flatten out. It means the peak is already reached or very closely to be reached. With the lockdown expansion for more weeks, Italy will soon to control the epidemic. After that, FIGC can have better conditions to make their decisions for Serie A.

If all rest matches of the season can not be taken place, I think some kind of a mixture between two seasons: this temp positions of this season before postpone, and the last year leaderboard will be mixed together with different weights. 2 weighted points for the current season and 1 weighted point for the last season. Then the total points for each club will be divided by 3 to decide clubs will be qualified for the playoff rounds.

The 30% cut was actually big, but because there really wasn't a match played. Then the salary deduction is a very appropriate solution. Maybe there are some clubs who do not like this method. But it all depends on the club involved in it.

What's your source here? Because the last time I check the Prime Minister of Italy has even banned them from practicing until the mid-week of April other than that I haven't seen any news regarding the resumption of the league games. Even if there is a rumor about the continuation of the league I'll doubt that it will happen especially if their own country that they play in is still not yet stable due to the pandemic. I wouldn't really hope anything yet not until their country is stable as well as all of the affected players are able to play for their team.

Juventus and AC Milan got punish by being automatically relegated to Serie B

Well, Calciopoli was a misdirection thing... If only soccerleaks was there...

Juventus has been proven extraneous to the facts and now has asked 450m € for damage to FIGC and Giraudo will do an appeal.

According to rumors, Juventus may refuse the title if he will win without playing the rest of the games while Lazio wants to play at all the costs the rest of the season for winning the title.

Find the difference.

(another rumor Giraudo will probably do an appel for the sentence of Calciopoli)

I don't think that a team has the power to deny a championship or else they could be facing certain sanctions here which they wouldn't like. If they are the default winners Serie A has been known to be not tolerant to clubs who violate certain rules and decisions and from what I know teams like Juventus and AC Milan got punish by being automatically relegated to Serie B for some seasons so if they do deny the title I was thinking that they'll have this sort of punishment. However there is no final decision here and Juventus is just talking about "what ifs" as of the moment and I know the Serie A board will be consulting with other teams regarding on how they will finish this season.

Indeed, it is unfair, I think Juventus are wise enough to make a decision like this because if you take the title, then their victory is not perfect because there are still games left in a few weeks.

If the Serie A matches are to continue this year, I am sure they will compete to win the trophy for me. That would be perfect if the match was completed this season.

Hope in the next few months the corona virus can be overcome.

I mean of course it is always nice to see people helping each other out but to call out european union to not be helpful enough is quite upsetting honestly. Don't get me wrong I live nowhere in european union so whatever you tell them doesn't matter to me but honestly the biggest countries in the EU is going through the same thing Italy is going through, maybe not as severe because Italy is the most severe country during this pandemic and they have a lot of people dying there which is quite sad however it doesn't mean that other nations are not having the same trouble. Many of them are in big lockdowns and are trying to save their people from dying. Could they somehow help out Italy? Sure they might, but that doesn't mean that they should spend time or resources on Italy when they are having their own problems right now. Russia and China is doing something awesome and kudos to them but that doesn't mean we should expect the same from EU as well.

If the club and management have issued a policy then they must understand and comply and as players and staff no longer have problems with the policy. This salary reduction step was taken to safeguard the finances of the club which currently cant play competitively and even the club is faced with the potential to cancel the season.

Based on the news that I read from the media, there seems to be no problem caused by this salary reduction and this policy may have been adopted by several other big clubs in different leagues.

But from my understanding most of those players and staff members earn much more money than an average employee. So having a salary cut for a half a dozen months given the current circumstances shouldn't be so much of an issue to them.
I mean the whole globe is down to its knees and there are people who are so badly off right now, Any person with humility would understand the current situation.

When I say "high-earning individuals" I'm talking about their employees who aren't part of the main operation which also part of the salary cut they are doing, obviously these employees in Italy need money and this is the time they needed it the most with the lockdown currently in effect in their country. And from what I am seeing some of the clubs like Barca and Tottenham are asking their players and staff as well to have no pay check in the coming months so I'm really glad that the Juventus management is not alone with this. The dissatisfaction of their staff and players might be gone because it is now being accepted by a lot of clubs already I would expect majority of the clubs to follow what other teams are doing right now with no income going on.

I agree with you. According to the article:

Quote
Juventus' first-team squad and coach Maurizio Sarri have agreed to give up four months' wages to help the club manage the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

It is clear that the players and the coach are synced with club about it. It's not like Juventus made it mandatory for everyone to do. Seeing the current happenings around the world, particularly in Italy, the home to the serie A league; they decided that its best not to get their salaries and that's fine. I mean, These are people earning thousands and millions of dollars/euros. Currently, there are people in different parts pf the world who are obeying the stay at home rule with nothing to eat. It's a case or die of the virus or die of hunger.

Let's not forget that Juventus isn't making any money as a club at the moment with all competitions/activities postponed.

Have you seen this news about Juventus reaching an agreement with their players on not having salaries on the months of March up to June? I was surprised that the players and staff even agree to this since they'll be losing 90 million Euros in wages and I know that some of their staff are not high earning individuals as compared to their players aside from that this will just give a big dissatisfaction towards the managent, some of their staff and players might leave the club because of this. Also with this news it already gives us a big hint that Serie A's 2019-2020 season is now over with the agreement of wages not being paid up until June which just marks the start of the transfer window for next season.

I think most teams are trying as much as they can to give up to the communities thou some events don't get much publicity. For example today i saw a video of As Roma representatives delivering care packages to elderly season ticket holders. It was kind of cool and soothing to see the elderly smile amidst this corona crisis that has hit Italy so hard
https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/roma-delivers-care-packages-to-elderly-ticket-holders-amid-coronavirus-lockdown-in-italy/
Juventus then AS Roma and we might see more football clubs in Italy do the same things. Not truly the same but in some types of different donations, and care packages or any other PPEs that are vital in the period of the war against SARS-Cov-2, as their contributions to help the communities and help their nation in general. I am proud of AS Roma, the club I love for decades because of their contributions as given by the news above.

Forza Roma, Forza Italy, and go onwards to beat the epidemic.
