From my point of view you can buy BTC now because its price is lower now so your future profit will be larger if you will buy it now. I think in this way.
And I'll agree with others that you are right. Altcoins are more active now than BTC and I think that there are more chances to get profit later than with another way.

I am a big believer in ICON and do believe it’s at a good price point to buy in at. However, I’d keep a close eye on BTC because if it doesn’t hold at this level with this most recent jump, ICON will also decline with it.
