Hi Everyone,

I'm back. I'd lost access to my secure machine these last few months loosing access to all my ixcoin-related account passwords. This combined with a somewhat lack of community enthusiasms for Ixcoin at the time,  made me focus on other things.

It appears the website Ixcoin.org was taken down by the host in January due to excessive bandwidth. For some reason, lots of people were accessing the Ixcoin website or it was hacked. I'm looking at restoring the website at the moment.

I'm not sure if I owe someone a 30K IXC bounty for something. If I do, please msg me. Last time I ran the Ixcoin client (several months ago), it was having issues synching with the blockchain and was only downloading a small number of blocks after startup then stalling. It's crashing on me now when I start it. I need to look into this. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be welcome.

I see that there's an initiative by ixcoin.co to update the Ixcoin client. I think that is great. I'm happy to put this up on the main ixcoin.org website (once I get it back up) if others welcome the idea.

Looking forward to getting Ixcoin back on track if there is community support for it.

Thomas.

OH, fuck me!

Welcome back, brother.  Take a look, I kept your name alive and even fought for your legacy!

But I still wanna punch you in the face for leaving me alone with these mindless [premine] hoards all these long months.  lol.

Don't dare take off again!   And YES, dot ORG is a must have.  And the twitter account.

What did I say:  LESS THAN 30 days to $10.  Ahahahhaaaa.   What timing!

Not again 30 days! hahaha  Cheesy

Anyway see your twitter, Wall Street is moving in!

Welcome back, Nasakioto. Hope you will not disappear again as usual.

About the website: I hope ixcoin.org will simply mirror what ixcoin.co will be. The reason is simple: I made an effort to convince websites to update the address of the official website, while others did not do it. Having both it will give anyone the chance to be updated to the last developments.

Plus: we need someone trading iXcoin on c-cex.com. Anybody volunteering?

Please do not forget to continue giving your votes / support.

Thomas,

Someone should state this publicly.

I spent 12 hours per day the last 8 months spreading the word and bringing in investors but without proper developers I would still be alone here.

That said, Friction brought hope back and brought talented dev work for two months and even built a site and new logo.

Luke. I have no words for this guy.  In just 3 weeks luke has moved mountains.

There is no coin with this kind of talent.

So Thomas, these two guys deserve recognition in a huge way.

And just like I supported Their decisions I will put my 633,000 iXcoin votes behind you all the way.

i still have that runtime error on the new windows wallet, worked fine on first run, it synched my old wallet address (the one which wouldn't send out coin), I managed to send Luke his 5 ixcoin back, then after my laptop had restarted, this every time I try to run the ixcoin wallet;

can anyone help? I don't want to uninstall everything as the wallet address which that windows pc knows is being mined to (and locked).

thanks in advance

Thanks for helping carry the IXC torch! Much appreciated.

Hello,

Luke Connell here. I've been following crypto-currencies for a while and after reviewing what's out there I determined that rather than create another altcoin it would be better to reinvigorate iXcoin.

I shared the following post with the community and then from there a few of us have been in discussions on the approach moving forward. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/reshaping-and-rebranding-the-ixcoin-432578

I've been working on a new website, roadmap and strategy for iXcoin in collaboration with the small but active community. http://lukeconnellau.wix.com/ixcoin-v3

It would be good to chat on skype to discuss iXcoin in further detail.

Regards, Luke.

That torch burned badly, but it's gonna be well worth it man.  Ha!

Really excited you're back.  Feels like Satoshi just showed up.  Man, your timing is incredible given my prediction from 2 days ago!  Amazing!

Now we can have a proper Mother-of-all Launches!

If, like LukeConnell is planning, mobile devices will be used to send and receive iXcoin  a problem will arise: fees. People do not like fees at all.
Now, let's suppose you let the customer to reduce or completely remove the transaction cost. How? Well, the solution seems already existing (http://icoplay.com/plugins/#nav-mobile). Basically the customer will have the choice to transform his device in a "mining" machine, otherwise to download apps for free in exchange of his "mining power" (http://www.macrumors.com/2013/11/01/new-plugin-allows-developers-to-turn-ios-devices-into-bitcoin-mining-bots/). It already happens something similar with programs like freemyapps: you test an app and receive a reward (itunes cards, subscriptions,etc.).

Frictionlesscoin, LukeConnell : is my conclusion right?

That's a good option but for now there's no need for fees.  Right now we have other big payoffs.  Price appreciation (coming soon, like Tomorrow, soon) and mining.

When mining stops then we'll talk about fees but for now it's not necessary.  And the fees can be very small, mere pennies per transaction since our costs will be nearly zero.  The real money will come in mass volume, right in time for terminal mining.

I'm not yet convinced it's going to survive 2015. If you can convince me there is a future for ixcoin even without merged mining (or with merged mining and fees?!) then I might reconsider. Meanwhile, I will play a bit with super undervalued coins like....Moon.

That's cool man.  I can't convince people more than I have.

Good luck with moon.

Here's an interesting observation about iXcoin on www.coinmarketcap.com

The folllowing notable coins used to have a higher market cap than iXcoin,  however now they are all lower.

28  Ixcoin $ 1,694,470 $ 0.093 18,275,090 IXC $ 4,572 +6.90 %

...

30  NetCoin $ 1,670,290 $ 0.0075 223,236,858 NET $ 18,323 -5.78 %
31  Anoncoin $ 1,387,849 $ 1.86 746,670 ANC $ 26,644 +1.50 %
33  Terracoin $ 1,322,913 $ 0.25 5,315,890 TRC $ 8,452 +1.27 %    <--- Traded at BTC-E
34  Freicoin $ 1,315,436 $ 0.035 38,030,749 FRC $ 924 -0.71 %
35  Copperlark $ 1,252,851 $ 0.20 6,404,449 CLR $ 323 -0.07 %   <-- Traded at MCXNow
46  Cryptogenic Bullion $ 742,482 $ 0.79 942,678 CGB $ 10,212 -1.44 %

There are plenty of other coins thar right now have a higher market cap than iXcoin,  and I expect in due to time that they will also all be worth less.

The reason we see this behavior is that IXC has been hovering at rock bottom for so long.

I fully expect that the following coins will be worth less than IXC within a month:

18  MaxCoin $ 5,276,378 $ 1.49 3,543,360 MAX $ 933,814 +1.30 %
19  Vertcoin $ 4,070,151 $ 2.14 1,898,300 VTC $ 541,356 +47.80 %
20  DarkCoin $ 3,495,409 $ 1.03 3,388,090 DRK $ 82,898 -8.56 %
23  Tickets $ 2,889,578 $ 4.3e-05 66,876,281,414 TIX $ 41,778 -0.95 %
24  Unobtanium $ 2,688,120 $ 17.48 153,785 UNO $ 117,957 +2.72 %
25  Digitalcoin $ 2,224,869 $ 0.17 13,423,469 DGC $ 26,336 -0.74 %
26  Zetacoin $ 2,149,047 $ 0.013 160,122,003 ZET $ 16,066 -0.19 %
27  Pandacoin $ 1,825,349 $ 0.00035 5,163,299,967 PANDA $ 195,054 -8.21 %

People are beginning to realize which coins are pump and dump, and which coins have true long term potential.

Vircurex? Fiat? I don't think so. C-Cex.com is in Ukraine, not among the most stable nations at the moment....

Maybe you meant the other Canadian exchange:

https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/about

Here is the Vircurex exchange for USD/BTC https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?alt=usd&base=btc&locale=en

BTW... thanks for the infor about vaultofsatoshi... interesting... there USD price is higher that Bitstamp!

What's the difference if the exchange is established in Australia, or other countries, for example Slovenia (like Bitstamp), Bulgaria (like BTC-e) or .... Romania.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

No difference other than Eastern Bloc countries are full of hackers and scammers.  But so far the exchanges in those countries have done well so that gives me hope.  But if I had to choose I would put my money in a US, UK or Australian exchange before one in say Russia or Romania.  Better safe than sorry.

Hi everyone,

The regulatory, policy, compliance and political environments are usually different in each country. Two compliance requirements of operating an exchange anywhere will be AML/CTF (Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules) and the other being taxation requirements.

Setting up a USD/IXC exchange is fundamental to IXC moving forward. In saying that Cryptsy is currently working on accepting USD and once that happens they will likely make it convertible with most of the altcoins on the site.

I'm currently investigating the feasibility of establishing a legally compliant exchange in Australia.

Regards, Luke.

Just a reminder,  Vircurex (in Canada) and C-CEX (Somewhere in eastern europe) both accept exchange to fiat.
