I added a few more internal Wiki references to the page and also referenced the IXcoin from the Virtual Currencies page. I guess that if more people also submit similar changes the page will get accepted.

Let me know if this the final design.

If so, we can award the bounties.

Thanks!

Please offer sm3ck some as well; his was the main inspiration for mine. Also newflesh.

Winning entry gets the 100 IXC bounty.  We will add 50 IXC each for the two who made contributions.   This will include sm3ck.

So far it is between jimhsu and newsflesh.

I think we have a lot of good comments from the team.

Wikipedia article

Hi,

I do not know anything about Wikipedia rules.
I just tryied to put an article on wikipedia.
After 10 minutes eveybody was beating my ass.

I asked iampingu to help me out. He seems to be a smart guy.

But it's true the more an article receive support from the community, the more the chances to be accepted.

Can you give, even if very tiny, a contribution to the article? In a few days they are gonna remove iXcoin file,

May I count on You all?

Thanks

One more interesting option is to use one color but different shades of it.  Like the Molten Gold but with darker shades all the way to the bright yellow part of molten gold so it's one color but the various shades add contrast, depth and a unique look.

Something like this:

All of a sudden, plain red looks bland and tacky.

Here's the colors that look good in my mind.

Try them in single colors and also a dual color combo.  The background you have I think is perfect.

Molten Gold spells money.  lol.

Green is the Global color of money.

Or this green; designed by God Himself.

@logo design guys,

I'm thinking maybe the red is a bit strong for some in the population.  Against the black it's looking war-like, almost bloody.

Can we, just for comparison, try the same exact design with maybe an orange, like that Lamborghini Gallardo orange.  That orange is hott, like molten Gold.

Or....

Or green, like the metallic green ink on the DOLARS since the global color of money is green.

It shouldn't be hard to just change the colors so can we do that and then see what others think.  I personally love the red but I'm a red kind of guy but we have to think global here.

It has to stand out like the red but be more friendly while staying hot like the red.

Or we could do 2 colors - the i in one color and the rest in another color.  Maybe try the orange and green together or a red i with the rest in orange or green.
If you look at the best internet companies like yahoo, Amazon, google, etc., they use bright colors and they use multiple colors.

Thanks guys!

How can I update my profile pic to include this new IXC symbol?

I've been trying to take my little girl off for months now but can't.  It's getting ridiculous.

You can never change it

Great!

I'm stuck trying to be a tuff guy with the pic of a little girl on my profile and I have to put up with perverts making comments too.

There's gotta be an exception they can make.

They make millions of $$$ from ads on here, I can't believe a little hack has now handicapped their entire website.  Instead of fixing the hole in the code they took a sledgehammer to it.  Pretty lazy...and sad.  Just like all monopolies.

I was considering taking a position in IXC, however the coin generation properties worries me:

Quote
Also it is not exactly like bitcoin as it makes 96 coins per block and does not lower that over time but instead stops boom directly down to zero at some specific block number.

Quote
there are currently ~13M iXcoins (as of June 2013) in existence and it is expected that all 21 million iXcoins will have been generated by 2015.

What will happen to the network hashrate in 2015? There will be no reason to merge-mine it anymore and it won't be widely adopted enough for fees to provide an alternative...

We're 16 months away from the final coin mining deadline.  16 months in this industry is 2 lifetimes.  By the end of this year the entire crypto coin landscape will be completely changed and altered and new coins will rise up above the likes of Litecoin.

So let's not alter the iXcoin protocol as it's a great marketing strategy for now.  Such an change and update can be made when we get close to that deadline; but only if absolutely necessary and if the majority agree cause right now the majority is definitely against it.

But don't worry, I would vote for anything necessary to keep iXcoin going but I really don't think it will ever become the issue some people fear it will be.

The first version of the coin is better, cleaner and the proportions perfect.  The second is too busy and the symbol is too large compared to the circle.

Otherwise the symbol has all the qualities a new-age, modern symbol needs to make it big:

I see a person sitting at his/her computer desk (digital money/social networking) looking at a computer monitor.  I see piercing arrows pointing to the center [the heart of the Coin] as if to accentuate that this is the xCoin; I see the mouth of a roaring lion charging ahead, ready to devour Bitcoin; there is the mandatory moon and of course, a giant erect phallic which no great empire has ever gone without, not the mighty Romans and definitely not the U.S. of A.

I don't know who came up with this BRILLIANT design, but You've got my thumbs up for the first version of the symbol.

Edit:  Also, if I'm right and IXC goes global then its symbol will definitely become XIC so this symbol should be easy to alter while keeping it largely the same.  That's called:  Forward thinking.  lol.

The logo looks very good, but I agree with jimhsu about the second version not working as well.  I think the proportions of the first version are better, and I prefer the background circle as well.

For me, it's fine, but I am not all of us. It could be nice to include it in the press release: new simbol = new direction to the coin. It would be effective. If we agree on this simbol.
Guys, there are already coins only with "I" or "X". To keep one of them as official simbol would increase the confusion. This looks like a complete cut with the past. Like a fresh but old coin.

Guys, express yourselves.

Hi, I'm one of the artists in that thread.

Original files:

smc.psd: https://mega.co.nz/#!PA0wyBYB!kRzNa9xm1d1x7pSe3SRIMSCe9X5ujVxlRSmtS3FRbeA

For the update version, the IXC might be too big relative to the circle (especially on the 3 upper right, lower left, and lower right corners). May not reproduce well at smaller sizes.

So every produced picture or document can get an indelible proof of date of creation or trasmission of it, avoiding legal issues linked to the time it was produced/delivered (e.g. to prove a certain file o software existed before -> copyright protection).
Question: can it be applicable to iXcoin considering the 2015 deadline? Will the mining still be used to produce, instead of coins, valid stamps?
Every coin can validate 100.000.000 documents. It seems a lot, but if extensively used, ixcoin would be in a better position being able produce to more "coins".

Yes, of course.  The 2015 deadline is just for mining new coins, but the block chain continues to run.

The reason I brought this up is that in most cases bitcoin doesn't want't their block chain to be polluted with a lot of junk.

However,  IXC right now has like 50% of BTC hash rate, but its block chain is mostly clean.  You can download the entire block chain in less than an hour!

Anyway,  that is the general thought.

Anything application that can pollute the Bitcoin block chain in an ideal candidate for implementation of iXcoin.
