I tried reasoning with my head but I'm just the toes and I'm always getting walked on. It looks like we are going to sell ixcoin.org. Sorry folks but we need a new hat.

Starting bid is $500

What does everyone think about iXcoin lobbying as a payment processor for Bank of America international wires?  Is it too much like making a deal with the devil or just a good business opportunity?

IXC would be ideal for that but I would need leverage to sell them on it and right now I don't have that.  We don't even have the security we had before which was one of the biggest weapons in my arsenal.

We really can't do much if we can't get any support from our partners.  If we get some help I have no problem giving it my best shot.  IXC can do the job and much much more.

What is the next move, things are a bit quiet.

I propose a contest.

A one page website for ixcoin. Or ixcoin and friends. Wink

Community votes on the best one. Winner gets fame and glory and can also post donation address.

Remember that IXCoin is just one out of a whole family of merged mined coins, all mined together.

IXCoin and I0Coin help us see what no more mining rewards is like (I0Coin also giving us 1.5 minute blocks instead of the more common 10 minutes per block used by many other familiar coins), GRouPcoin and CoiLedCoin show us what forever mining the same number of coins per block is like, and DeVCoin has the same number minted per block forever while also giving 90% of the coins toward free open source development.

Notice that all of these coins are all free open source, and development of all of them goes together, just like when I0Coin solved the RAM problem and all the other coins then were able to make use of the solution.

So with all these development-needed ideas, you-all should be involved with DeVCoin as well as the rest of the merged mined family.

They all go together, and the funding-of-development department is DeVCoin. Smiley

Development proposals should probably be couched in terms of projects that benefit all the merged mined SHA256 coins, and bounties applied for from DeVCoin.

Let us not forget too of course the other members of the family, NaMeCoin which provides domains and aliases and such (usable by various things such as Open Transactions); GeistGeld (XGG) which shows us the bleeding edge of how fast blocks can be, and is so darn fast it might even need slowing down, unless maybe we are just waiting for hardware to catch up or something; and the new member of the family, UNObtanium, which gives us the rare-coin member of the family.

(Keep an eye on HuNTercoin too of course, in case they ever manage to get their merged mining working...)

Also when you say we own many ixcoin domains, who is the "we" you are referring to?

We as in i.  lol

http://who.is/whois/ixcoin.co

Ixcoin.co expires in late november.

Maybe someone would want to email the owner of this site as per above link?

Email who?

It's friction - why email him when he's right here.  I doubt he'll let it expire - it's only $12.

Then again....haha.

Buying Frictionlesscoin's site ixcoin.co makes for not only an easy upgrade but we get the networking effect of that site existing for so long. It always comes up in an internet search.

Does anyone know how to contact Frictionlesscoins? Vlad you talked to him last. What price did he want for the website?

I don't remember him giving me a price.  And I was afraid to ask.  lol

I don't really agree. A site doesn't have to be 100% from scratch, somebody could use squarespace or wix to get a simple site directing to the necessary downloads up in 5 minutes.

It's whether or not the domain owners want to, that's the issue.

We own plenty of IXC domains - even IxCoin.info so I don't think that would be a problem if we can get someone to build a good site.

Again, my point is the quality of the site is mostly irrelevant, as Kraizi pointed out, litecoin.org is simple as can be yet fully functional. We just need something for people to download the latest release and show we aren't dead.

Vlad2Vlad, yes even someone as incompetent as YOU could build a site with squarespace!  Wink

The problems isn't the maintenance cost, I can pay that.  The problem is the required skill to build it and manage it, as I don't possess that skill-set.

I just found the owner of iXcoin.com.

http://coinx.com/leadership

I just hit 'er up like Tupac Shakur.  Haha.

CoinX would be a big partnership if I can get her to add IXC.

If you can manage the website (i.e. free labor) then the cost is minimal.  It's less than $100 per year to keep a domain ($10-$20/yr) and web host ($50-$80) running.  I can donate toward that if you or someone in the community will manage the website itself.  This is something we need to do ourselves.  Our big partners aren't going to do it.

An easier option is to buy Friction's website so a new site doesn't have to be designed from scratch, but it's a one time acquisition.  Did he ever give you a price?

No, Friction is not gonna be too reasonable when it comes to money.  And We don't need another IXC domain.

But yes, it would be nice to have a legit site like the new and improved Bitcoin.com.  I would gladly pay for one myself if ixCoin ever takes off.  It's impossible to get anything done without proper funding and it seems nobody is willing to help out.  I have single handedly outspent all of our partners combined who together are probably worth well over a billion dollars.

Look at Litecoin's website (https://litecoin.org/).  It's very simple, just one page, but very clear and concise.
