Sure he could leave Canada and go to Malta for example to continue the site but if he doesn't want to then that's OK as well. Who knows? Maybe he has friends or family living in Canada and doesn't want to leave them forever and is happy with the million or two that's he earned from Just-Dice. I know I certainly would be.

As far as I can tell, doog would have made (by today's BTC market rate) over $1m in commission from JD - I doubt he's in a huge rush to sell just yet.

Hi Doog,

Are you going to be selling your website/code? Surely there would be willing bidders.

P.S. Thanks for the 3 btc profit over the last 9 months.

If you are really interested in buying a site, knowitnothing who owns ggdice.com is selling the code to his dice site here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5862378

Would doogus considered selling the code?

Also increasing house edge for big bet is completely laughable, even Las-Vegas would not think of doing such a thing. Why punish a high-roller for giving more action and volume? In Las-Vegas they would actually lower their edge to get those players.

I found this discussion about raising HE for higher bets interesting. As the above comment points out, Vegas normally lowers HE for large bets.

But one of the things that is unusual is normal gambling sites (B&M casinos to lotteries) considerably raise house edge for large payouts. It doesn't seem to have been discussed on this thread at all. Perhaps it is because people didn't play jackpot plays consistently.

There is a few milestones where some players won million to one payouts, but presumably they were gambling dust.

Does anyone remember anybody winning a 100X or higher bets where they gambled something more than "dust"? I realize the dooglus is probably too busy making plans to comb through old bets anymore.

Give the guy a break. The law is brand new, and until there are prosecutions under it, no one knows how it will be interpreted. They clearly felt that it was better to return the investors money now, and go on a clean sabbatical, than to risk the government making a test case out of them.

I am sure they are consulting with their lawyers about how to proceed.

I doubt he is ready for a fire sale.

do i get this new law right? if you are a canadian resident, you cannot operate a site such as JD unless you ask for identification of all investors/players? It's really sad to see such a great place going down. i wish you all the best. hopefully you made enough money in the past year!

It would make no sense for Dooglus to put his life on the line to keep this going. He would be at risk of losing everything he has ever worked for and being put in jail forever.

Thanks for understanding. Smiley

Also remember that Dooglus many times said that he was at the point where he run the site for the benefit of the bitcoin investing community.

Just-Dice allowed us to safely invest in a gambling sites bankroll without fear of having to commit. He created the site when his net worth was well under a million, now the bitcoin price and the profit the site has generated made him a millionaire, he had little incentive to keep the site months ago. He said that he only kept it going for us and for that I thank Deb and Dooglus a million.

Now laws all over the world are restricting bitcoin activities, pushing fair gambling out of the window and into the hands of the big greedy casino's. That's what laws do, empower the powerful.

Deb and Dooglus, thank you very much, it's been a great ride!

He doesn't need to risk losing anything, he just needs to run it from another country with a less interventionist State. In Malta for example there are many gambling companies.

Why don't doog and deb use their bitcoin and move to the bahamas or w/e? They should've compiled a nice portion by now.

This is a nice two story house with 3 bedroom and two baths. 3,607 sq ft. Amazing views. Gated community with the most luxurious lifestyle! $375K in Panama where they are operating.

They should be able to buy this place cash with the first year's profits. They can be up and running in weeks.

If you figure 6BTC per day in commission, if they shut down for four months in Canada while lawyers try and figure out the new law, they could pay for this house in that time.

Lately they are making more like 2BTC per day, which is still enough to live anywhere. I hope Dooglus doesn't surrender, his idea is too good and he could just keep offering Just Dice from a less interventionist country.

Sad to see just-dice go. I hope everything will go down smoothly.

+1. Just move! With the profits that you were getting you could live anywhere in the world.

I have a sizeable investment which I can't withdraw. My standard balance is showing as the number I would expect, but the withdraw box says "you have 0.00000000 BTC"

Is this a cold storage issue?

What idiots, I never seen such drooling retards.

Why wouldn't you just run the site offshore with a philippine tiki hut villager as unaware owner.

What an overblown sense of entitlement you have. Did your mother breastfeed you until puberty or something?

If you're so fucking smart, why don't you just follow your own advice and cash in on your brillaince?

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
Anyway, the bankroll size was getting to grand, maybe it's better this way to clean it up and start fresh with a new one.
I'm sure the coins will pour in if they launch again, assuming it is similar.

It takes time for coin investments to start pouring in though
So the early bankroll for the first few months will be higher  Wink
