Evil beware: We have waffles!
Even more curious. Just checked the detailed Awesome Miner log for my 2x s9's and 2x R4's at home and only 1 R4 shows a blip for the issue. I'll have to check the log at work to see if it's the same. Again, only 1 s7 at work lost connection long enough to start beeping so problem is restricted to the controllers (both are Avalon's) and in my case at work, possibly running 721 and 741's on same Pi. Different chains but 1 Pi.

EDIT: 8:50p EST, looks like the 741 at work has finally gotten up to full speed. Considering how long it took using  721's and 741's together vs each type on its own controller bet thass the reason. TBC in the Avalon thread.

Ditto on the 721 reboot thingy...happens here occasionally. Considering the issues I had with the S7s, that's nothing.

There was a second reconnect on NYA at 21:49:31 UTC

While the server provider had stated there were issues in New Jersey a couple of hours after the previous very short network dropout, it hadn't affected the hash rate.

However, the node code crashed at 21:49 and automatically restarted as per normal if that happens, so everyone on NYA will have again reconnected at 21:49:31
Interesting. I have the NYA node as pool 0, the pass-thru as pool 1, and the DE node as pool 2 on both Avalon controllers (at work and GF house). All 3 dropped out on both locations. I just restarted cgminer on hers (a 741) and it's back to full speed. Interestingly, AFAIK only one of the Bitmains complained (beeping), an underclocked s7 in my office.

The ones at work: Tried cgminer restart. the 3x 721's on the controller are fine, the 741 barely over 6.1THs. GUI reboot of the 741. Same. Hard boot of the the controller and all miners on it. Same. All PSU's are APW-1600's and have always been trouble free.

Got a hunch the 721 and 741's don't play well together on same controller and have another Raspi hanging around so will try the 741 on it's own control.

Shocked
About an hour ago the NYA, pass-thru, and de nodes went down for several minutes. When they came back up - my 4 Avalons (3x 721, 1x 741 on 1 controller) at work have now lost a total of 7-8THs! Rebooted several times, restarted cgminer several times - no go. Before the outage I was running 27-28THs with them, now down to 20-21THs. The 741 at my GF's house is also now running slow - down to 5.6THs.

I see that Canaan has also massively dropped from a couple PHs down to ~500THs. What has changed that the Avalons don't like?Huh?? All my Bitmain miners came right back up to normal speeds.
I have also run into this problem from time to time with my 721 and I've been able to fix it with reboot in the web GUI Avalon Devices Status.

Yeah same happens on my A721 dropping from 6.x to 4.8-9. Rebooting in Avalon Device Status with subsequent restart of cgminer always brings it back to 6.x

The disconnect was NYA - 17:56:50 UTC - it reconnected only a few seconds later 17:56:55 - so miners should have just failed over and back again.
Also - it's a node, not a passthru - minor difference Smiley

It had no effect on Canaan, they lowered their hash rate over half an hour, from around 17:15 to 17:45, before that, and don't use NYA.

If HagssFIN's suggestion doesn't help, check your PSU to see if that was the cause of the problem?
I've managed to kill my PSUs on my 721 that's why it doesn't mine at the moment - the 741 I have much better PSUs on it.
Otherwise contact Canaan support.

Indeed you've got to love this pool!

In fact, considering when this server upgrade/reboot is going to occur, and based on no firm science at all, I smell a Block Friday coming!!  Cheesy

That must be a great sense of smell you have. Grin Grin Grin

Hello!
I'm new on this Bitcoin world.
Few days ago I begun to mining in Kano pool.
Actually I don't know how and when dust payments will be send out.
Thks.
As it says at the top of the Payments page, they aren't sent out yet.
(and at the bottom in smaller writing, they aren't automatically sent out)

It's been a couple of years so far, so don't hold your breath, though it is near the top of the todo list.

I'll be doing a web server upgrade in about 20 hours - 31-Mar 3:00am UTC

No mining will be affected at all.

During the web server upgrade, the web site will be completely unavailable.
This is a straight forward VPS memory upgrade since the server provider has doubled the available ram on all their servers at the same cost.
I'm not sure exactly how long it will take, but it will certainly be less than 15 minutes.

Doing the web server (first) I'll be able to see how much effort is involved and how much of an outage it will be.
This will also lead to later upgrading all the rest of the nodes (NL, NYA, DE, SG , JP) and also finally the passthru that everyone mining to the main US node goes through.
I'll of course post about those upgrades before they happen, once I've worked out when they can be done.

So for now, just the web server will be upgraded tomorrow 31-Mar 3:00am UTC

Edit: I've also added a notice function to the web site and it shows this also - and I'll continue to use the notice function in the future also as needed.
Just a reminder Smiley
This will happen in ~1 hour and 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, good to see the pool hash rate clearly above 30PHs at the moment - 33.5PHs Smiley
Web server 'hardware' upgrade went without a hitch!
It actually was only a bit over 1 minute of server down time, but I did a bit of extra checking before and after to be sure all went as expected.
Next to start planning for the node upgrades ... Smiley

Ja. Looks like Canaan has another batch of miners online for burn-in. 2 days ago they were down to 280THs, now back up to 2.3Phs Smiley

Rock on canaan! Grin
