Block by jmww!  This is your 33rd Kano block and our 2nd of the day!  Cheesy Cheesy

EDIT:  That block finally pushed me over my financial break even point for the first time since the S5 days.  Hallelujah!  I am now $8.65 in the black...at least until my next host fees are paid!

I need coffee too, the coffee shop takes Bitcoin and as a favour to me he'll let me have mine after 2 confirmations instead of having to wait for 100 Wink
There ya go...on my island, however, there are maybe a half-dozen folks who even understand it, let alone use it. Dinna lose that barista, laddie!  Kiss

I know it sounds simplistic...but there appear to be two camps on the issue...as with all BTC things, it seems...those who are in Bitcoin to make a fast profit, and those who are in Bitcoin for the long haul.  Kiss

EDIT: Gotta remember to have coffee first...what I meant was these two views should not necessarily be opposing, but often end up that way for lack of wider vision. I happen to agree with Kano on BIP101, and for the same reasons.

Mine on.

Miners want big fat blocks, traders want low fees; can't see that ever changing. We want traders to keep trading and they want us to keep mining though or the whole thing dies, even an ID10T like me knows that. Kano-san's small miners are on both sides of the fence as we have to consolidate our small payouts into some useful mount (just got 1 sat/B because the mempool's virtually empty)

Forcing growth at an exponential rate as BIP101 wanted was way too fast and unnecessary in my opinion.

Ah, yes.  I missed that BIP101 comment and did not understand your reference to aliens at the time.  It did make me picture a first encounter w/ ET as a financial one. Now it makes sense  Wink

It's so complicated.  I think the idea of a linear and gradual block growth with each block may better address concerns over fast movement with a stepped change.  Then again ... I don't really know much - except about bicycle transportation planning

Bitcoin is a $15 Billion ... industry.  Maybe it'd be a better idea to experiment some with the silver highway called Litecoin.  That seems like a nice proving ground. I hear they are voting on SegWit. That's only a $200 Million industry with ASICs and is trading at like $4.  I just transferred some BTC to LTC for my first time, ever.  Nervous time for all.

Lots of blocks!  Always a good thing, especially with the price of bitcoin  Roll Eyes

I think it's becoming clear it's not an ETF rejection, but the  Undecided fork  Embarrassed discussions.  I've been thinking on this post:

P.S. core is the cause of this problem, clearly ignoring what the majority of Bitcoin want.
70% voiced interest in wanting BIP100 ... no sign of that.

I agree. Is it possible to signal BIP101? It's an interesting proposal by Gavin Andresen: "I really don't care what the rule is. I just like predictable rules.  I like knowing what the block size is going to be like on Feb 15, 2022."

Where he received the project directly from Satoshi (or is Satoshi, right), perhaps it's worth a look?

Happy mining! Tongue

EDIT: He encourages not mining blocks with the current version.
Heh, no I think BIP101 is probably the worst option so far.
It's making a ridiculous assumption about how quickly bitcoin can expand and ignoring the possible side effects of that.

From a miner's point of view, it also means a drastic drop in txn fees.
As we all know, fees are up at the moment, but if the block size jumps up too fast, fees will drop VERY fast.

Having a way to keep a balance between supply and demand (block size and transactions) is important in my opinion, which is why BIP100 was the best in my opinion also Smiley

Hi everyone. We have switched to Kano. Just want to introduce us. We are 3 brothers from SA. Doing about 100TH/s on Kano from now. I'm sure we are gonna have a great time expanding here
The more expansion the better!
Welcome aboard Smiley

As most should already see, there's 3 big miners at the top of the list that are growing and will hopefully continue to do that, so we can reduce the variance we have seen recently.
The more big reliable miners that join, and the more they grow, the lower that variance will be!
Great to be part of this group. Thank you Kano.

Over the last few months I have increased from 14th/s to 86th/s, and I plan to add more in the future.

I'm trying to add one or two miners per month or until my wife kills me Wink
LOL - Try to stay just below the point of your wife killing you because we don't want to lose you from our mining pool  Wink
