What is CDF? And where are the blocks for March that you're keeping track of? The link above doesn't seem to point to a post where you are noting found blocks for March, unless I'm missing something.
It ended long ago (last year)
Note that you are referring to a post dated Feb 2016.

The winners are listed in the first post.

The blocks table on the web site has a CDF column.
Cumulative Distribution Function https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulative_distribution_function

The CDF table I often post here gives the "Complementary cumulative distribution function (tail distribution)"
i.e. the expected probability that a block will be longer than X%

e.g.
Code:
0.39346934028737   50.000%  1 in 1.6
 0.63212055882856  100.000%  1 in 2.7
 0.77686983985157  150.000%  1 in 4.5
 0.86466471676339  200.000%  1 in 7.4
 0.95021293163214  300.000%  1 in 20.1
 0.98168436111127  400.000%  1 in 54.6
 0.99326205300091  500.000%  1 in 148.4
 0.99752124782333  600.000%  1 in 403.4
 0.99872735771441  666.666%  1 in 785.8
 0.99908811803445  700.000%  1 in 1096.6

And now for the details of the March version of the AVALON6 GIVEAWAY Smiley

For the month of March we will track all blocks and keep a record of the Highest and Lowest CDF blocks found.

So at the end of the month we'll have 2 blocks, one with the Highest CDF and one with the Lowest CDF
(if there are 2 the same CDF, I'll check them to extra decimal places to work out which is in the lead)

Of those 2 leaders, one will win the Avalon A6 and the runner up I'll give my pool fee from the first pool block of April
.. it's a bit over 0.125 BTC, not a lot but better than nothing - enough to buy a very nice bottle of wine or spirits Smiley

The winner of the two will be chosen by the first block mined on the bitcoin network (i.e. anywhere not just here on kano.is) with a UTC time in April.
If the last digit of the block's hash is even, the the highest CDF will get the Avalon6
If the last digit of the block's hash is odd, then the lowest CDF will get the Avalon6
(and by 'last digit' I mean all the way to the end on the right)

The pool log "Block hash changed ..." message will decide if a block close to 00:00:00 UTC is in March or April

Now for one other point that will require clarification in advance:
The process of passing the winning Avalon6 on to the next winner in the event that the first winner can't accept it:
If the winner is the High CDF, then the ordering is High 1st, Low 1st, High 2nd, Low 2nd, etc
If the winner is the Low CDF, then the ordering is Low 1st, High 1st, Low 2nd, High 2nd, etc

March 1st 00:00 UTC is in a little over 25 hours ... miners get your engines ready Smiley

Edit: all of the other non-conflicting rules (listed in the first post https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/kanopool-kanois-lowest-09-fee-since-2014-worldwide-2432-blocks-789369 ) are still the same

Edit2: I'll keep track of the blocks here so it's easy for anyone to see:

5 consecutive blocks over 100%... Our luck will turn soon  Wink
Only 102 for the last 9 and 103 for the last 25 non-stale (and that includes 3 over 300, one of which was over 415); where you think it's going to turn to?

To hopefully something better than consecutive 5 blocks of 100%+. For example, I'd be happy if this block gets cracked while still under 1T, and the next one be as much under 100% as possible. I'm modest like that.

Yeah 9 in a row between 90 and 99 would be okay.

Kano, by signalling segwit you can significantly reduce the likely hood of a contentious fork and give the market a big relief. It would be huge news. Would you consider doing this, even tho you may not think its a perfect solution?
2 things:

1) please stop asking about segwit over and over, your multiple posts on the subject have been answered many times.

2) a currently smaller than 1% pool will not "significantly reduce the likely hood of a contentious fork"

Thats fine. You do not have the miners of your pools interst then. Bitcoin price will continue to dwindle, and you just stood idly by. Thats fine. But how can you live with that and how can anyone support this pool?
Well can all live without core's centralised financial interests being the reason why they do what they do, we prefer Bitcoin's better interests.

... and again you've been answered many times. I wont ask again.

P.S. core is the cause of this problem, clearly ignoring what the majority of Bitcoin want.
70% voiced interest in wanting BIP100 ... no sign of that.

Hi Kano,
For the past day I've been unable to login to my account (moecarrim). the password is correct but it says login failed.
Ive tried resetting the password too but i did not receive the email( i made sure the email was correct).
could you please assist me with this

Thanks in advance
Start a new account.

I'd rather not start a new account as all 260 of my miners are configured with these current fail over settings.
Could you please tell me why I can't login and how could o possibly fix it ?
You have a financial agreement with another pool and have a large hash rate.
Thus in this situation, my luck reporting will start afresh with a new account.

I don't understand why this would result in me having to create a new account. I don't mind you starting your luck reporting from scratch but I'd like to keep my current username moecarrim. So if there is a way to delete that account so I can create a new one with that username it would be nice.

Regardless of the agreement I have with another pool I do not see how that would result in the locking of my account instead of just a reset of your luck analysis.

could you open new accounts with a small change  say

moe7865NEW

moecarrimNEW

I have had to do this on more then one pool

it would take less effort to program the failovers

If BU occurs at the ridiculous level some people are suggesting, 51%, then your wallet will be the last thing you'd have to worry about, coz BTC price will fall badly on both sides of the fork (worse than it has already)

It basically means that you can turn the "21 Billion Bitcoins EVER" to 42 Billion.  If that happens, then there goes the gold comparison and everyone will question the entire value.  It's not that it would be value-less, but the value could take years to recover with transactions showing on both chains.

What needs to happen is for proper transition from one protocol to the next using 95% as core does (yes they do some things right Tongue)

That's obvious, but do you think some of the larger Chinese corporations would try to deflate the price (and entire BTC economy) for perceived competitive advantage in the long?  Why would anybody want to move away ...?

we all need to hope that no one is stupid enough to force a fork at 50% ...

If it happens at 50% then your probably best to stop using your Bitcoins until the problems die down and there's a definite winner.

That's my plan. I'd like to start mining some AltCoins now but don't know much about any but ETH.

Edit: 'sources' say BU requires 75% for 2 weeks, so I guess all the talk around about lower %s is probably trying to scare people into making decisions.
But anyway, if BU ever does reach 75%, that means you should have 2 weeks to sort things out.
... and the 2 weeks is probably 2016 blocks, which if there is a fork of any sort would mean more than 2 weeks.

Good info.  I agree.  There will be a lot of pressure on pools and miners supporting those pools to either switch or 'cause' the fork.  I just want Bitcoin to keep working.  Transactions backlog every-so-often, but I don't think it's time for changes.

Needs to be a new account.

Just feel it's highly unfair locking an account for no apparent reason and without any notification for the simple reason that I partnered with another pool Huh . Regardless of the luck stats you run or whatever the case is, it's no reason to lock a miners account Smiley

Anyhow I'll keep chugging away with my miners.
