Kano is a disgraceful troll, don't use his pool

Here, in this thread, he decides to troll Segwit adoption with crafty sleights of semantic hand, probably because he's bored or butthurt about something.

If he's willing to be so churlish because of some Saturday afternoon man-childishness, think how unscrupulous he's willing to be in the name of his uncontrollable emotions with your money.
As I said there, you need to learn to read how 0.13.1 works.
It does not (as gmaxwell also said there) connect to non 0.13.1 bitcoinds Smiley

Non 0.13.1 nodes can connect to it, but not the other way around.

And yeah trolling here, coz you made that stupid comment there about me, wont get you anywhere but seen as more of an idiot.

This is what i also do not understand
Why would other pools support it? They must know something an average miner does not.

maybe because it solves a bunch of technical problems? besides, what is the alternative?
increasing block sizes x2 every 3-4 years?
Sounds a bit simplistic to me.
BTW, increasing blocksize 2-fold will probably halve the fee as well (or more), so there will be no bonanza, far from it.

Well, doubling the block size would reduce the average txn fee but increase the number of txns possible per block.

If we aren't short on space at the moment then, that will probably mean a decrease in txn fees.
If we are short on space at the moment then that could mean no real change in the total fees but more txns.

One point that seems to be swept under the carpet is that satoshi designed in a 32MB block size in the current code but just limited it to 1MB ...
We really haven't hit a wall yet at 1MB ... and it takes doubling that 5 times to get to 32MB

That's really interesting

Well my screwy S9 has started xing out again. Hopefully a night off and a restart tomorrow will bring it back to close to normal again. One of these days that's not going to work anymore. I have a feeling it is the controller. Which part of the controller I don't know. I really hate to be pulling that sucker apart again and swapping out parts to trouble-shoot the problem. Doing that makes for two miners off-line, not just one. %#%^&%$#%^&& Bitman!
There goes my 5Nd

When/if I get it repaired I will be going through Colorado. No more shipping parts to china for hundreds of dollars!

I wish Canaan had been a real competition as far as hash/cash. But if it comes down to it, I'll just plug in one of my old S7's and over-clock it up to about 725 - It's cold enough here for that now with no worriers about over heating - until I can get the part -eventually - repaired. Damn crappy (expensive) cheap manufacturing!!  POS Angry

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Come on BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Fall, you MthrFvkn block!

Good For you Kano, just another reason why I love this pool so much.  I don't know why anyone who relies on mining for their livelihood would support segwit.  Besides of the technical concerns, it would be taking money out of our (the miners) pockets. It would allow off chain mining which I am 100% against and with that you can kiss those juicy 13+ BTC blocks goodbye.

Will this pool be signaling for segwit at any point?

I ran a search to find Kano's opinions on it and it seems he's opposed to it for a few reasons. Attempted dev control of bitcoin and disk space issues stand out the most in my memory. Any further clarifications would be appreciated. I don't visit the forums that much, so I apologise if I missed a post regarding it.

Would also be very interested to hear ck's opinion as well. Thanks.
I'm not against it. Kano and I differ in opinion on this one and ultimately this is his pool; I'm part of the administration and tech support but it's not my pool.

Kano, how do you feel about letting your pool users vote for or against segwit?
Nope.
ckpool doesn't allow it anyway.
