Sweet that you got an A7!

How are the temps and noise so far Kano?
Also, what about power consumption?

I am waiting for my units to point them here.
Well while I had it up here in the laundry it was ok - no jet engine noises.
Now I've moved it down to the garage ... no idea long term how much noise it makes ... but once it got to over 6THs the fan was noticeable, but still not jet engine levels.

Power is around the 1000W mark - mine went over to ~1070W but I only had 4 plugs in it.
In the garage I connected 8 plugs (4 leads with 2 plugs each) and it hadn't got to 1000W yet when I went and turned on the old A6s.
So somewhere around 1000W - but it takes a while to ramp up - and that's actually to do with 16nm chips and making sure they're all ok.
I wont be surprised if people find the A7s way more reliable than the recent Bitmain problem miner - but we'll see.

isn't 5THs about half what an A7 should do?
You been smoking something?

also - Pool has is currently displayed as 32THs not 32 PHs

That says 32PH ...

And that page also says 7.58THs ... yeah funny about the inaccuracy of hash rates Tongue

Also as I said above ... it takes a while to ramp up ...

Also looking at one number when there's a graph of quite a few that says otherwise ...

So ... I have an A7 mining on the pool right now Smiley
I'll add a menu a bit later so people can see my workers - if anyone is interested.
I'll post here when it's done.

Miner is actually no where near as loud as I expected - and it's 26C here
(and I have it in the laundry which is about 28C after running the dryer an hour ago)
It's hopping around 2300 to 2500 RPM for me - in the middle to low 60's dBA (i.e. certainly under 70 dBA)
It's temperature says it's 31C

Need to let it run for an hour or so to get a reasonable hash rate estimate.

For anyone who uses the default RPi image (as of today) on canaan.io - it's setup for static IP 192.168.0.100
So you may have to login to that and switch it to DHCP if you have more than one - or if you have a lot, set that in the image.

Very cool Kano!  I can't wait to see what you you get with your new toy! Grin
OK it's up and working.
Everyone logged in now has 2 extra options in the 'Workers' menu:
K.Workers and K.Graph - that shows my data below the menu (still your data above top right)

Edit: oh I'll take it down to the garage at some point later and thus it will have a short outage - but the shift will show that after I do it - it seems they start a little slower then climb up for an hour or so to get the speed right.

Edit2: though it's clear from the Workers page, you can separate out the A6s and A7s on my graph by using at the top "all" ".A6*" and ".A7*" and pressing "Update" - though it will forget your settings if you already had some for your workers.

Edit3: moved - so it was off for a bit over half an hour.

You guys were making me nervous so I just transferred my balance from Coinbase to my KeepKey (about 4 coins).  I do this normally anyway once it goes over 1 or 2 coins so I don't have any real balance open to hackers but I had let it go a bit too ling this time around.  Total time to complete the transaction and get all the required confirms...12 minutes.

Now I just unplug my KeepKey, put it in my safe next to my Glock, and all is good!
Sounds like here...my flash backups, pending data recoveries, etc. are in my safe...next to my Glock. Yowza.
My (final) ones are on my desk, safely next to my R2D2 USB and Tenshi Nendoroid Smiley
... though that's an encrypted drive that even I don't know the password to Smiley

I'm pleased to announce that I've received an ava7 gratis as well from canaan for continued support of this device in cgminer and am already running it on the master cgminer code on this pool.

Hi all..first post here but been reading the posts for some time. Anyway just wanted to get some suggestions about the wallet I'm using for my pool payments. I've been mining with this pool for right around a month just using a btc address instead of registering. I know the benefits of registering but that's not my issue. When I started and currently I'm using a Coinbase wallet address for pool payments and while I haven't mined within the period of time the IRS is asking for records of I still have some concerns as to if it would be a good idea to continue to use Coinbase as my wallet or if there are valid reasons that I should dump my balance over to another wallet platform. Open to suggestions and have appreciated the advice I have found here already thanks in advance .

Awwww maaaannnnn...you got yours first.  Grin

I was sorta kinda expecting a relatively quiet experience; my A6s have been a lot quieter than the S7s.

I was going to re-burn my RPi card tomorrow anyway, as I await my unit. Thanks for the update.

Hard to say whether this is good or bad, on the one hand we have miners complaining that their transactions won't go through but on the other hand we have miners shouting "yippee" because a block was paid 13.6 BTC rather than the 12.5 BTC that you get for an empty block. I'm not even sure that it's spam, could be Coinbase users moving their stashes out of the clutches of US government.

May we live in interesting times.
