kano being kano probably got up set out the payment and went back to sleep.

im thinking the auto pay would have been announced if it was online.

I honestly think he never really sleeps...maybe a power nap every once in a while!  Cheesy Cheesy

rumor..kano is an advanced AI prototype.
Ready for the Turing test, buddy?  Grin

If that's the case stick him in a race car and let him run le mans.

Hi Kano,

I noticed #405930 payment just into my coinbase account.

Is the automated payment working now?

.... unless you are awake and sending payments manually now...
Its must be like 530am down under now.

I know you were working on it but I didn't see any postings on this.

Cheers!
Yeah I randomly am awake Smiley
The next one was 10 blocks later so I wasn't awake for that one, so it was a couple of hours late being sent.

Block Cheesy

This block is by josephtran2, his 2nd kano block!

Block!  Thankfully this one didn't wait for my node to come back up like the last long block did (since that is going to be a while-- just trying to move the VM to a good disk is proving to be a pain since the disk is failing so quickly; I may have to start over with a fresh install).

I've been renting fairly steady for days now (and still am), so lets make the next few quick ones!
i got 2 that are stalled. 1 at .0029 the other at .0028. might increase both just to get them started.

Yeah, right now I have a series of orders that I don't touch from 0.0030 down to 0.0028 on both sides (WH and NH) and two "floating" orders that I raise/lower as necessary to keep my rented rate averaging around 18TH to 24TH.  It is a hybrid approach I'm trying to smooth out the variance I was experiencing with just my set-and-forget orders before.  My 0.0029 and below orders have hardly been touched in days and the floaters are all the way up to 0.0030 to keep the rate up.  Someone there seems to like renting a quick burst of 16TH across both sides every now and then (yesterday 6.4TH/9.6TH at 0.0033).  Everyone raises their rates to compensate and then it takes a day after they are gone for everything to settle downward.

That said, one of my 0.0029 orders has been flickering to life in the past hour.  If it stays then I may be dropping a floating order down in price soon.  Chances are it will not and this burst of 36TH will serve to fill in the "scheduled dip" later in the day.  I hate having such a high percentage of rented hash 1% over market (after fees), but I keep telling myself this pool has been averaging 107% so it is probably low risk.  It can't be any worse than my chances of ROI on hardware.

yes the problem is not the pool is with MRR my rigs were highjacked from the rental company for over an hour
Well, remember that if they are Bitmain miners, they default to allow anyone access 2 ways:

1) user/pass like most miners, have a default that you need to change
But also:
2) API, bitmain set the API so that anyone with network access can change your pool settings

So check them both.

Also note that if you reset the miner it will go back to the default

Does anyone know how to lock down the API on an S7?

alright just getting back into things with a antminer s4.  I used to mine on slush but from what ive noticed slush is not really decent anymore.  Doing some reading up and kano seems like a dude I can support and in turn receive support.  So im joining the pool, only question is should I set my difficulty to 2048?  Is that still applicable with the latest s4 firmware?
The simple answer is, unless there's a problem with your firmware, there's no need to set the work diff on the web site.
Setting it on the web site will only take effect if you set it above the pool's calculated value.

If there is a problem with the firmware then avoid using a power of 2 like 2048 - instead use a little higher e.g. 2052

As usual, remember that the work difficulty has no effect on your reward other than variance.
Higher diff means higher variance, but not much of an effect unless you make it a lot high e.g. if you set it 10x higher.

Appreciate the answer, and I am letting the server decide then.  As far as I am aware I dont think there is an issue with the s4 firmware other than not being great, like it freaking out when I set it to a static IP.  And it changing IPs every few minitues on DHCP.  And running 4.8.0 miner.

Not sure what kind of router you have but some routers allow you to assign a specific DHCP address to a device.  That way your S4s stay on DHCP and each time they request a new IP, the router sends the same one they had last time.  My Cisco/Linksys E3000 can do this and it works great.

I run a Netgear R6700 router, and am able to assign DHCP addresses to specific devices so they don't change over time. I can also open the ports for a full node.

Anyone else notice how Slush is simply not finding blocks? I sort of keep an eye on it as I used to mine there some time ago before coming here. I now understand, though, that it's due to Kano and CK's sharp work that this pool is performing better, all luck aside.

You can find good answers here.  Cool

I mined slush before coming here and I've noticed the same thing. I wonder what is going on.

This block at 243% and guess whose node is down again (it went down just as we passed 100)?

I think I have a disk failing.

Also I just bought this lol.  For $265 on ebay so I will want to run it for a bit.  My goal would be to mine enough to buy an S7 but that could take a while if ever.

maybe try relisting, maybe the person you beat in the auction will buy. see if you can get yourself 2 s5's would be more power efficient, which would allow greater profit thus a faster s7. im sure there are plenty on here people are selling.

Considering I would also have to buy a power supply for the S5s it would put the cost of ownership much higher than the s4 I bought.

Two S5 hashing power = 2300GHs.  Only 300 more than my S4, not bad though.
Two S5 power draw = 1180 watts.  Vs 1400 for the S4.  A bit better power efficiency.

Cost to purchase two s5 units without power supplies = $160 per unit on ebay.  So total of $320.  Thats $60 over what I paid for the S4.
Cost to purchase two s5 units WITH power supplies = About $200 per unit.  So about $135 over the S4.

Im too lazy to do all the math for the profit difference but I doubt its a large enough gap.  Electricity will kill me though, but luckily I live in an area where I get .08kwh
