Mine for a Bit
multibit.
anyone can recommend me a safer wallet ? maybe something with mail confirmation to approve an transaction ?

MultiBit should be fine...... I use it on a Linux machine (with a 30+ character password) - I can't really see how someone could make transactions from your wallet without physical access to your PC or unless it has been compromised in some way..... What OS are you running? And are you sure the payout address wasn't altered somewhere else - ie. on the miner or in your ckpool settings.....

more specifically access to private keys.

access to your wallet (with passphrase)
access to a cached copy of your keys while moving them from a to b.
use of an online vanity address generator.

One of the safest ones is airBitz that I have read about that has the best usability: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Well I wont give details, but there is one glaring issue in it all that should mean it doesn't matter that I sent the payout.
But then it makes no sense Tongue

So I've really not jumped the gun on sending it and really didn't want to hold it up any longer.

since wallet hacks were touched i would like to ask if i missed  a payout Smiley

well i just got a indirect response to my query

No one has ever missed a payout here.

It is nuts to come in after being unable to read the thread and catch up, but I have been watching the blocks pop knowing there was some cheering going on and couldn't wait to get back to enjoy things with you guys. It has been a rollercoaster like it always will be. I didn't mind waiting longer for my payouts.

The thing is, there has never been any security issues of which I am aware, and I believe if there were they were each determined if it would harm the community to release the information, but man there are never security issues and I swear I hope there never is one but things happen to the best and happen more to the worst. Innovators do push some boundaries.

Even saying all of that, nothing happened which any of the pool or db code, system, procedures, etc failed, or were even challenged.
From what I have read, we do not even know the timeline or other basic things needed to examine the situation.

It fucking sucks, it does, I feel for you, but this is not the place. It is better off handled out of the spotlight until you have all of your facts straight, and if you had just e-mailed Kano, you might be surprised how helpful he is when he can be.

So, anyone saying security breach or software issues, etc lets get a conversation going a different way and drop this talk from this thread please.

I brought enough Chicken and Snapple for everyone.
I would like to help people count all of the FKG coin they've raked in as well, and any issues. I can help with this issue. If anyone IE the OP wants to contact me and lets go through it line by line I am happy to help any way possible. Tracking through the blockchain is always doable if you have the time, the time, the time.

I think we have the potential to be the greatest group of miners with the greatest pool fellas. These threads get rocking and the pics, that is what this is for so lets keep this going and keep other things where they belong.

I appreciate every single person I am mining with today. Look at that green stack.

One last thing:

The 5nd is a very important piece of the puzzle some of us make calculating rewards, but let me take you back one level from that pov.
No matter where you mine there will be things you like, and things you do not like. This pool is not perfect and I do not agree with everything Kano does or his every opinion. We have discussed things... respectfully. Because obviously all of us wouldn't be here if it weren't for a couple of the biggest kids here.
Consider the 5nd is going to bounce at whatever pool you are at. Personally this is one of the most stable pools I have ever mined with. The extra attention comes from being successful. No pool guarantees 100% uptime and it isn't their place to do so. That is fkg entitlement. Business people and people with hobbies know there is a cost for either one and the sun doesn't always shine.
You will not find a better pool.

I appreciate everyone who has been here, everyone who has joined int he past few months and anyone who stays because I think again, this is a great group of people who have so much to offer and remember, the pool has a size limit. Lets make it a lean block making machine, a monster ...in many different ways.

Edit:
CK, I understand this is what you wanted to stop. I will never speak another word of it in this thread again, but it was burning me up.
By the way I meant nothing at all against the person I quoted, it was a generic example of my biggest point.
I respectfully request you (and Kano) leave this one, at least for a day?

Yeah, something seems fishy to me... Like someone is trying to make you look bad.

It seems to directed, only funds from this pool, this is the only place that password was used, etc.

I say give him a couple of hours to confirm with you. I know a few hours won't affect me.

Well while jumping for joy at having more BTC to send people ...

I've not heard back from vortex via email, he said skype, which of course isn't appropriate, I replied again that I wanted email, I don't care who anyone 'says' they are, they need to use their account listed contact details, and still wondering do I need to redo these payouts or send his BTC to his old address?

Nothing has changed on his account so that leaves me in the quandary of wondering who the account owner is vs the forum member ...

I don't really want to reprocess these (now 3) payouts, and just want to send them ...

(and I'm also not 100% certain it is his account Tongue)

Trezor, love it and sleep at night knowing my keys never leave the device. Very easy to use with Chome plugin. Even if you have a infested computer or use a library computer, bad guy can't get your keys unless they got a gun to your head and you give it to them.

+1! Get a Trezor (and a second one as a backup).

If you do go this route, there are some important tips (like using a separate account for mining). PM me and I can send you the related links.

Sorry for perpetuating the off topic discussion ck. Back on topic now...

Really nothing like getting paid 12 X PPS at 238% on some shifts. In the past I was impressed with 6 or 7 times PPS on shifts, but 12 X. WOW.
