Anyone else notice kano.is being funky?

Miners seem to be OK tho..
Just the opposite issues for me: Avalon6 performing sub-par recently (~3THs, randomly stops mining, etc.). Man, not sure what's going on. Seems like the heat's affecting it, but temps are still 35 65 65, for example.

Couldn't even find a can of compressed air since dopes huff it, so less stores are carrying it near where I live. Did find an air pump laying around the house, so I at least tried to dislodge any dust that I could.

Hoping for the best here since I probably have a year left of mining before this thing pays itself off... Can't believe they're selling for $100 nowadays. Cry

Ya  Looks like a database restart.  Back up now.  I'm sure Kano will give us the dope on it shortly

MINE ON!
Was just database timeouts - no restart.
If the web server loses connection with the back end server, you get a build up of timeouts until it can renegotiate the connection.

all devices failed over to a non kano pool just now....

pool 0 and pool 1 are stratum and nya,  both were not accessible for a very short time.
seen this on awesome miner where all devices failed over to my pool 2

Stratum (which is now in Oregon) had a failover for everyone on stratum at 7:19am UTC

However NYA (different provider than Stratum) locked up temporarily a few minutes later though it didn't disconnect, so either failover failed as often happens or it failed to connect to NYA a few minutes later due to the temporary lockup and thus ended up on the pool3

All the Stratum nodes (AWSLS) reconnected pretty much immediately so the usual cgminer fail of waiting 5 minutes also keeps it off pool1.

All OK again.

I forgot that stratum moved to my state.

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN, IT'S TIME FOR A DIKEMBE MUTOMBO BLOCK PARTY!!!

Since my Twitter is still locked up, I focused more attention to other platforms. Found that reddit is full of keyboard warriors and bottom dwelling trolls!!! Note to self: find a middle finger emoji Cheesy

I've been doing Great on instagram this week though. I ran into our member selfblumpkin, and he's getting his gear set back up from his move. Until it's ready, his colo is going to be providing him with HashPower. Goodluck to him!!!

Also, I touched base with a few mid size miners, who are considering joining Kano's Pool.

In closing, C'mon bust that BTClock!!!

should I be worried about the " FAILED"   ?  This particular S9 has one hash board stop working, a reboot fixes it for hours, or even a day, then sometimes  goes back to one board not hashing.... been in operation since Nov 21 2017

chain[5]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[5]: FAILED!
chain[6]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[6]: FAILED!
chain[7]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[7]: OK!

I check my S9s 2-3 times a day.  I have several that lose a hashcard which a reboot fixes - for awhile.  Yes, its defective.  No, its not worth sending back to Bitmain.

If anyone interested.. I shut down the miner in question, blew out the dust with a compressor.  Now the test log shows...

chain[5]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[5]: OK!
chain[6]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[6]: OK!
chain[7]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[7]: OK!

Seems to be working fine now.  even the hash rate went up it the 14.2 that it used to be at, rather than the 14.08 while it was having the problem.

Hopefully.
Actually I even switched power supplies. after I cleaned the S9..hmmmm. maybe bad power supply.

W00t! Keep them coming...Thanks blockfinders. Would love to see expected column to be lesser than actual blocks found.

Appreciate the block, quite a small payout though 😐. Is this a sign of things to come ?

Huh?  Have you also noticed that the pool's hash has increased lately?  Barely any fees in the block we found too, barely over 12.5

I wasn’t complaining, just querying as to why my hash rate has increased slightly but the payout was lower. Is this due to the increased pool hashrate so the share has to be split more ? Also in theory more hash rate more volume of blocks ?
Payout per block depends on the pool hash rate.

If the pool hash rate is higher then we expect more blocks per day.

Luck being 100%, if the pool hashrate increases you expect nothing to change - more blocks - less reward per block - same average amount per day.

The reward for the extra miners of course comes from the same blocks.
