Hi All

Officially mining on Kano Pool, contributing ~60TH, not a lot but hoping to increase that over time.

What's the policy on dust payments?

Keep up the good work Smiley
When I complete the accounting.
Getting there - slowly Smiley

KDB Restart NOW
Getting a resource problem - all is OK so far but I can see it causing problems shortly if I don't give it a kick.

Mining is unaffected - just the web site will show lotsa zeros and '?' while restarting.
Mine on.
Unfortunately the pool dropped all miners and thus everyone failed over initially from 14:08 until 14:13

Not long after this the pool crashed - however in the crash it wrote a corrupt worker status record to the reload file and KDB couldn't handle the corrupt record and crashed also, until I found and removed the corrupt record from the reload file - which required stopping the pool while I did that.

The console log says all is OK, but I'll rerun the shifts on the backup server and make sure they match/correct any differences before any more payouts.

Sorry about the long mining outage - but all OK again finally.
Unfortunately I've had to do a quick (resource) patch on KDB so I had to restart KDB again.
Mining is still (currently) all OK.
The web site will be back up once KDB has finished restarting.
Unfortunately the resource issue continued due to the long KDB reloads as it got further out of sync due ... to each reload failing and thus compounding the issue.

After shutting down a few things that mining can function without and yet again ckpool crashing, KDB finally was able to catch up and all finally OK at 17:05 UTC
One important point to note, however, is that no shares were lost in all this.
As per normal, a KDB restart does scan back to before it was up to when it stopped, then run forward using the reload files and in this case that was all OK other than the original corruption that did not lose any shares - all share sequence numbers were accounted for correctly.

Of course everyone was failed over to their backup pools for quite a while during this, but any shares submitted have been accounted for.

Sorry for the long delay fixing the problems, but finally all is OK again - and of course the web site is back up and all functioning OK again.
As I mentioned I'd do above in red, I reran the shifts on the backup server from before to after the problem occurred.

I reprocessed, on the backup server, all shifts from after "a9wsh rem" to before "aa8bz rem"

Stats of the results on both servers were exactly same so all was OK, as the console said and I expected.

The 200% blocks go by pretty quickly these days Grin

Barely a blip on the variance these days...

But we seem to have lost a bit from sidewinder - hopefully any troubles get sorted out soon Smiley
Apparently should be back online and working within the next day.

Congrats on the recent block!  Cheesy

I plan to move my hashing power from another pool to Kano shortly. Any tips for monitoring my connected workers without having to log into the site multiple times per day? I mainly want to know when/if any of them fail over and total hash rate.

Can anyone recommend a mobile app?

and do not say anything to do with awesome miner...

I'll throw-in a bitmain $100 coupon (or two) if I get a good suggestion.

Thanks!
There's 2 apps and a web site listed in the first post (with links to here on the forum - I don't post off site links for that)
The iPhone app gets better support of the 2 apps Smiley

Check the Account->User Settings page you can also use the API to get worker stats.

Edit: if you are a very large miner and need to give access to the Workers->Workers and Shift Graph pages (very useful for when you configure a large number of new miners) there's also another (undocumented) link to view those in your browser using the API key so you can give simple access to your tech guys.

CKPool Stats is a good app if you have an iOS device. Not sure what's out there for Android that's still being updated. There was/is this app, but I think the developer stopped working on it.

What kano said....Moore's law is catching up to ASIC's right now...just like it did with CPU chips (INTC, AMD)...

I'm not exactly sure how anyone would believe marketing hype where a company says they can do something a LOT harder than what Intel, nVidia and AMD have yet to achieve with just CPUs and GPUs

I see no 10nm CPUs or GPUs in the near future, and Bitcoin mining is a lot more power intensive and thus a lot more difficult to manufacture workable chips.

Yet they're boasting jumping straight to 7nm ... ... ...

There's also google-able reasons (related to power issues) why there are no 10nm CPUs and GPUs yet Smiley
