It's about time -- All merrit accepted !!!
Hard to believe more are not mining with the guy who made cgminer !!

Still in terms of math and extended mining you should yield the same btc in a larger or smaller pool (obviously) but still I think so many people have used cg miner or it's various 'mutations' over the years...... if you never contributed to it or sent btc......... joining the pool might be a way of showing some support !!  For me the first time I got cgminer to compile I felt like a godess for 2 days.  I cannot imagine all the hard work and testing ect... that had to go into coding a project like that......

Just throwing this out there.

Kano,

Is there a way to delete some workers from our pool under manage workers tab?
You wont ever be able to 'delete' workers.
However, on the 7 mile long todo list there will be an option to ignore workers with no results more than some limit in the past.
I'll sort out how that's handled when I get to it - still not 100% decided.

Gotcha thanks.

No I'm wondering why block halving in general would be considered good news?  We would be getting less per block found, and theres absolutely no guarantee price will go up

I don't care what you are "wondering" about 'WHY" I asked "MY" question.

I'm telling you I asked it cause I first thought it would be December, 2015.

Anyone would know one would be getting fewer bitc per block when it halves.

I just wanted to know WHEN it halved.

Go try to put words in someone else's mouth.  Not working here buddy!
Hmm, OK, not sure what is wrong with asking "why" ...

Indeed the drop from 50 -> 25 did not trigger a double in the price of bitcoin, so it was indeed an immediate (temporary) loss in mining revenue.

Block reward halving is every 210,000 blocks
First one from 50 to 25 was Nov 2012.
From https://blockchain.info/block-height/209999 to https://blockchain.info/block-height/210000

Next one (420,000) from 25 to 12.5 will be about Oct-Nov 2016.

210,000 blocks is ~4 years at 10 minutes per block.
Since difficulty has almost always gone up since 210,000 and thus on average blocks have been less than 10 minutes, it will most likely be less than 4 years between 210,000 and 420,000

Since bitcoin block reward cut in half in December 2012, does that mean it will not cut in half again until December 2016?
It can only be an estimate, but here's a countdown clock:
http://bitcoinclock.com/

Reward-Drop ETA: 2016-07-31 03:44:40 UTC (82 weeks, 2 days, 22 hours, 20 minutes)

Thank You very much!!!

Book Marking it now...

After that news, I will most definitely invest in rigs and power upgrade to the house to assure I have a minimum of 130 TH/s by the end of the year.

That is excellent news to hear.

how is that excellent news?

It's excellent if one thought it was December 2015; like I did.

I'm sorry if that came across badly.. I didn't mean it in a derogatory manner... i get it now that I reread it, you thought it would half in 2015 but it's 2016  Grin

I thought I was missing something and there was a benefit to block halving..

sorry for the mixup
