Hi there,

I can't connect today, I have this red message: "Too many failures, come back later"

Is it something usual?
Thanks,

DaTongue

Howdy! You'll have to send Kano a PM with your IP address. If you have too many failed log in attempts, it will lock the IP.  It is a security feature of the pool to keep us safe from hackers.

surprised ppl keep getting more machines online though the profit non existent now for those who have to pay fer electricity assuming the machine life of 2 years.

I pay .14kwh,  and made  near $200usd, at current BTCprice, the last 30 days. Recently went to a buyers consultation for Solar. If all goes smoothly, I'll be hooked up by summer.

Edit: the cost of Solar is .05kwh in my case. And after its paid off, obviously free.

yes some places are definitely cheaper fer electricity but for Americans it must be getting to be a lost cause in most areas. here in Canada its cheep as dirt but still takes a year jst to pay for the s9

Some people can mine at a loss, for future profits.  Don't look at it as a short-term solution, think of 1-2 years down the road.   That said, if you can't afford your electrical bills now, you have to do what you have to do.

Totally agree, with BTC price being where it's at, ROI, will take longer. Kinda makes me Happy I bought mine with BTC I bought at $170 back in 2015. Wink

My county has a co-op for electric. Only 8cents here no matter the time or the amount.

Mine on!!
Hello community experts

Need to get your advise on something.

did any of you tried connecting 2 S9s to one 5" exhaust? I am running out of space and need to "combine exhausts".

I am using a 1.5m length 5" ducting for each S9 and it appears to me from the airflow at the end of that 5" ducting can support more air flow as it is not that strong.
my S9 fans are mostly running at 4280 rpm. Ropm temp is 18C.

Thanks.

I believe if you run both into a single 5in, you will see a rise in your board temps. You will increase your fans "static pressure",
which in turn, lowers the cfm. However, if you increase the size of the single pipe to 8in or at best 10in, the cfm should be
tolerable for good board temps.

u could also run a extra exit fan at end off the pipe to draw the heat away from the machine\

Also, never use flexible duct. The interior of a flexible duct becomes restricted at every bend (exponential). Round metal duct is cheap and easy to run.  https://www.homedepot.com/p/6-in-x-5-ft-Round-Metal-Duct-Pipe-CP6X60/100125106

True, but that fan would have to be around 8000 rpm, to relieve the static pressure of the 2x4280 fans.

if of same size and same blade design yep min of 8k would suggest shooting for 10 though. surprised ppl keep getting more machines online though the profit non existent now for those who have to pay fer electricity assuming the machine life of 2 years.

The smallest you could run two units into is about 7-1/2". Even then, the static pressure increase will raise your temps slightly.

I remembered, a guy who was in same situation as i am and he asked you same question about ramped up period, he was completely ramped up like me, he left and came back and you answered him differently by saying he already completed ramp up period and no need to do it again.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "nope - you are remembering incorrectly."   Mainly, because what you're remembering is just wrong, and Kano wouldn't have said such a thing.  One ramps up while mining.  One ramps down while not mining.  You have ramped down and thus need to ramp back up; simple as that.

Mine ON!!!
Speaking of promotions and giveaways, I just wanted to give credit to whom it is due and recognize some folks for their amazing grassroots efforts....

1) Gotta start off with Kano's 10BTC giveaway, which I would argue has brought our recent block find average to under a day and a half
2) luxMiner, perfectplus174, and K.P. PassTheHash--wish we knew who this hilarious character is--for the recent bout of hashpower giveaways
3) Shazam, Tnaa97, padrinogtr, et al. for promoting the pool on Linker and TwittIn Grin with 1,000+ combined views, reposts, likes, comments, etc.

Sorry if I left anyone out. Frankly, it's getting hard to keep track of all the great stuff going on!

Keep up the great work everyone. Glad to be a small part of such an awesome mining crew. Cool

i believe social media is a helpful tool. we will keep at it seems to be working great

Mine ON!!!
I would like to commend those who have been promoting the Kano Pool. I joined this pool when it was 26PH's and without hesitation have sent every possible Hash I could generate to the Pool.

It continues to grow and it is refreshing to see such a dedicated community. We as team members with Kano have a Pool with ~94 PH and growing, consistently, steadily every week. That is great news for the Pool, a feather in Kano's Hat but more importantly fantastic news for Bitcoin.

There is more at stake with supporting this pool than just a .9% Pool Fee.

There is more at stake than just making money, granted a requirement, but not the overall purpose.

Freedom, true Freedom is why I mine Bitcoin and why I mine with Kano.

Bitcoin must stay decentralized. Kano Pool provides me a way to support that concept and it has been the absolute best, hands down, at providing us that avenue.

Bitcoin is the ultimate concept that you can take control of your own lives and banking/financial requirements.

When Hashing becomes centralized, all of it out of a few Pools that validate the financial system, it gives those FEW incredible leverage over the MANY who enjoy the use and FREEDOM that Bitcoin will ultimately deliver and that the concept/technology represents.

That is why Kano Pool is so very important to the future success of Bitcoin and I urge you do grow it.

Kano Pool provides the avenue to participate in your own financial freedom while helping secure a future avenue of financial freedom for countless millions if not billions of other people worldwide.

It's Bitcoin baby, the ultimate FU to Centralized Control Freak Bankers. The enslavers.

The fundamentals of Bitcoin have not changed. Actually, to the contrary, we are one financial crisis away from seeing Bitcoin take it's rightful position within the Global Financial System. A common means of exchange between Nations and People that cannot be corrupted by a Central Banking System. I honestly believe Bitcoin will be the cornerstone and keystone to this and it will be good.

So, that's why I Mine On With KANO-SAN. The Best Bitcoin Mining Pool on Earth!! The Redoubt of FREEDOM!! Press On!!

Not Preaching, Just Sayin! Lets get the Pool to 200PH by June!!

Shazaaam and the others are doing a great job on twitter!!!
i thinks it is working great

i was here on kano.is for two months before i leave it, and now came back again after one month, my question is where is my ramp up period gone?

It is already more than 24hours since i moved here on kano but my shift graph showing avg 0.84Th/s  Huh
...
The 'ramp' is a name people use for the effect of PPLNS on Rewards.

The Reward code selects all shares found 5Nd before the block is found.
Since you left (long) before the last 5Nd, you only have your new shares as shown in your graph.
If you click on the "time key" checkbox at the top, you will see the left hand side of the graph is after you quit mining.

The light red area shows the 5Nd before the last block we found about 16 hours ago.
Thus if you've only been mining for 24 hours, then you had only been mining for 8 hours when the block was found.

Alas I guess you also didn't notice that when you left a month ago, your 'ramp' down will have included (very good) Rewards after you left.

Have a read of the Help->Payouts page - though I presume you worked out that when you were here before?

Also, the Shift Graph shows the average over, about, the last few weeks, not just the 5Nd.
Your Reward for 514974 will show what your calculated hash rate was for the block's 5Nd

Quote
do i need to start my ramp up period again or what.
Yes coz you 'ramped' all the way down and got those 'ramp' down Rewards also.

I remembered, a guy who was in same situation as i am and he asked you same question about ramped up period, he was completely ramped up like me, he left and came back and you answered him differently by saying he already completed ramp up period and no need to do it again.
