What is your internet connection?  I'm near the beach in Virginia and it's only 93ms to the stratum from here.

Pinging nya.kano.is [104.207.132.42] with 32 bytes of data:
Ping statistics for 104.207.132.42:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 33ms, Maximum = 36ms, Average = 34ms

It could be a problem with the service too. I had very little connection around 1am and 2am. I live about 1.5 miles away from our "tower",
but being out in the middle of farm fields, probably doesn't help. From our "tower" to the main "tower" is about 50 miles, might be getting
delayed in there somewhere.

EDIT: 2hrs uptime with, 1 reject, and ALOT less hardware errors.

Must be something in the air. My internet service bottle necked the signal around 6 UTC, then again at 7 UTC. Strange thing was, it only affected 1 miner at a time.
Did a reboot, because it seemed I was getting alot of rejects. All looks good now.

What part of the globe is the node for stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333??? Curious if I should switch to nya.

It's on the west coast in Vegas.  Ping all of the nodes to see which one is the best for you.

Thanks! nya. is looking like the best, which makes sense, since I'm in Michigan.

Yeah the failover and failback seems to have changed all the difficulties for the miners and threw more invalids. First time I've ever been higher than the pool invalids.

Glad it wasn't just me seeing this!!! Hahaha!!! I was becoming paranoid for a moment....well, more than usual.

Had a failover/fail back 'event' on the Silicon Valley half of the main stratum server at 08:50 UTC
This is caused by the fact that a node requires a permanent connection to the main pool server and if it disconnects and reconnects immediately, it kicks everyone off the node and they reconnect i.e. failover/fail back (which takes cgminer 5 minutes)

A lot of the miners on stratum.kano.is will have failed over to their 2nd pool and will have already failed back.
Reminder to make sure your 2nd pool is another kano.is node so that if this happens, you simply failover to your 2nd pool node for 5 minutes then back again.
Thus you hardly notice any gap in your submitted shares.

Well to be more specific Smiley

Bitmain is the largest and worst competitor of every person who buys miners from them.
And they apparently can't set up an e-mail service either.  I've been getting the same coupon notice once a minute for the last 2+ hours from them. and they're still coming in.

You think they repackaged used boards?
40th/s for $3000. If you could hook 3 to a A3++, it might be worth it

Bitmain usually sends out used equipment that they say was "tested". That's where their pool gets most of the hashrate that it
has. If you get free or dirt cheap electricity, it might be worth it, otherwise not at all.

Bitmain is the largest and worst competitor of every person who buys miners from them.
i.e. they have mining, bazillions of S7s and S9s and of course now whatever their next miner is, that they will let everyone buy some time in the future.

They need to get rid of their old garbage - S7s - and use the power for better miners than the S7s
That's what the V9s are - their way of making MORE profit out of the old S7s they've been mining with.

It looks like the V9 consumes just over 1000 Watts. You won’t power 2 of them with one apw3++ psu. Also 3 of them together won’t equal 1 S9 in hashing speed and still consume over 3000 Watts of electricity. The S9 still wins.

Back to 60PH! Let's hope it sticks this time.

EDIT: ...Aaaaannndd, it's gone.

You can't count on the Canaan numbers being reliable for long periods of time, those are testers for the most part and they drop off within a few days.   It's when people like cryptostar and sidewinder show up, that we need to be cheering!

HUZZAH FOR THE BARKEEP!

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!

Yes Canaan numbers go up and down.

However, I've certainly no complaint to make about that - they consistently point a lot of hash rate at the pool!

You CAN count on them reliably pointing a lot of hash rate at the pool for a long period of time!
Just not exactly how much Smiley

I think their miners come default to this pool too, so if someone just plugs in to test without checking the config they'll hit here.
Yes they do.

Any other kano whiskey drinkers out there care to down a dram or two of their finest single malt in an effort to crack the next block?
