Me too a newbie. Starting with only 1 machine. I see a hashrate, so I know I am connected. What I understand is that we have to wait. t will come. Yes, it would be nice to see your small rewards add up with time elapsed, but it does not work like that here. I trust patiently.

Hi guys I am new to kano mining and i have been mining for around 25 hours with S9.. I cant seem to find my wallet and what my balance is... please can you help. Thank you

We have not found a block in the last 25 hours, so no payout yet.  You can see your contribution to shifts here: https://kano.is/index.php?k=shifts

And you can read about the payout system here: https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout

Account->Settings to set your payout address.
Account->Rewards shows your balance (which will currently be zero)
Rewards each time we find a block.
Rewards are PPLNS as per Help->Payouts.

Gotcha. Well, when you are ready let me know. I am setting up a hosting site for myself and a few other people as we will be able to get power at 0.05 cents per kw if we band together and pull our resources together. I would be interested in picking up a few more units.

I am also in FL. PM me with details, I might be interested in abondoning my search for a site and come on board. I have 106 miners coming

I agree with Grog and Biodom that the monthly stats are confusing when the number of blocks that we find take weeks.  With the very clear mathematical talent that Kano demonstrates, I expect it has been checked and rechecked tons of times over the years.  Obviously setting up background daily calculations is probably not an easy thing to implement without a lot of testing and may make the data really inaccurate during the transition.  Of course we are all hoping the pool will grow so it will be a non-issue anyway.

So I wonder if an asterisk (*) could be added to the monthly stats (January in this case) when the month has rolled over without a block.  then under the monthly table, add the asterisk again with some sort of description below it?  At least that would give an indication that it will be updated at the next block.

Beyond trying to offer another thought on this, I would like to remind everyone here that we all are perceived as representatives of the Kano site even though we really are not.  I am an old fart that has always told my kids that texting and email communication is much easier to misconstrue versus face to face or phone where reactions are instant.  This forum is the same in my book.  As tempting it may be to do a quick pop off on a heated topic, please consider a re-read and edit before clicking the post button.

Now lets crack this block so we can get back to the cheering and Mine On!
While I can understand your point of looking at the monthly number that way, the number of blocks we are expected to find in a month is too insignificant to perform any kind of statistical analysis on. Due to our loss of hash from last September and the ridiculous rise in difficulty, our one month numbers are meaningless. Who cares if January looks a little better or February may look a little worse.

Look at some of the bigger pools. The 10 and even 50 block luck swing wildly all the time. Anything less the than 250 block number can change too much with just a couple bad blocks.

So whoever this cryptostarusa is must have like 1000 S9’s. How do you even put that many on the pool? Certainly you don’t have to switch each one individually to a different pool. You’d have Worker.001 all the way to Worker.1000. It would be pages long and take days. So how would you manage that many to direct them all at the pool?
There's apparently some pretty crappy tool available from Bitmain to update the settings of a bunch of miners.

He has a lot more than 10PHs of miners, but as makes a lot of sense, only a % are pointing here to reduce risk.

Sounds like that could be handy even if a guy had 20 miners.
Awesome miner has a proxy function built in.

I was thinking the same thing; I thought I remembered that from a while back.

I use awesome miner even though I do not have that many miners. It is very handy. Allows you to manage pools and miners fairly easily.

Dang $1800. I’ll need a few more miners before I get that.  Cheesy

Pro is $85 and Premium is $170 ... a couple day's worth of mining for 10 Or 20 rigs ... if you're unlucky

I've got the pro version and I am very pleased. Remember if you decide to upgrade in the future you only pay the difference between versions so don't feel like you have to get your max right away. Start off with what you can and try it out a little cheaper then work your way up. I'm more than happy with my purchase and will upgrade when I have the need.

Hey I wish this pool would get some life in it .. I mined here for a good 3 months but then I said a few things to try to get a spark and pretty much got the usual scorn

This pool should try all kinds of gimmicks to keep miners here..  like charge 3% fee but give 2% to whoever gets the block.  Make the gambling worth it.. could even increase the fee payout a little more each day like a jackpot and then reset after the block...  put a little graphic jackpot meter on the website that grows just like the casinos..  yeah maybe I'm that guy on the boardwalk I am talking about  Smiley
Gambling is for other pools and casinos.

There's already a pool out there to attract small miners - with a stupid payout system that gives small miners the possibility to take from the large miners, and the large miners lose their block reward on the first block coz he can't code it properly Tongue
Oddly enough there's only one large miner on that pool - the guy who found the block that -ck threw away - yeah I've no idea what wetsuit is thinking Smiley

... attract small miners by skimming from the large miners ... i.e. try to send away the large miners Tongue ... and people who don't realise you're losing out.

Yeah not really my aim for this pool Smiley

You sound like those guys walking around the Atlantic City boardwalk

Ouch - that hurts!  I don't gamble and if I did AC would be the last place I'd want to go!   Grin

- the problem is that at least the casino odds & payouts stay the same..  but with mining, luck doesn't even out from one diff change to the next.   It only evens out correctly within that diff change and with this pool you only have a few rolls of the dice between diffs to even it out..
that is what kills small pools..  the need to get more spins on the wheel before a bad 'day' at the track puts you on the street.
a bad day at a big pool is like two bad months here.  You can recover if it really is one day during a diff cycle... but here that same amount of hashing would span 2-4 diff cycles

You make a good point - with the difficulty changing a bad run may never really even out.  Nevertheless, I'll stick with Kano since his pool is fair and transparent.
Bitcoin will go back up eventually and make it all worthwhile and if it doesn't then life goes on - its not like my life savings is tied up in this.  Smiley
