Anyone else think El Classico will be 0-0 this game? Under 2 goals looks quite a nice bet to make, since we don't have the main goalscorers of last few seasons who are normally fired up to win. I still think Barcelona will win this, but it all depends on how the first half goes. If they both play cautious, which I think will happen, and half time is 0-0, then we maybe get 1 Luiz Suarez goal at the end or just nothing. Espanyol will be of course hoping Barcelona lose, and I admit it would be nice to see a new team lead the Spanish league!

I think Barcelona (even wit Messi injured) will teach Real Madrid a lesson this weekend. Every great Champion eventually comes to an end & I think Real are past their ‘use by date’ (forgive the pun).

although without messi i think barcelona still win meet real madrid
madrid still bad performance and must play away to barcelona home

Barcelona will get the win but it will be a really close match, they always are. Passion’s run very high in El Clasico, wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a red card, probably Ramos Grin

I would be very cautious before placing a bet on either of the teams, it's the fist time after 2007 that el Classico doesn't have Messi and Ronaldo in the match. While it's true that Real Madrid form has been poor, and their head coach could be given marching orders if Real Madrid looses, however this match brings the best in every player, with those high level of emotion anything is possible, haha yeah a red card for Ramos would be really nice it's like the ref is always ready to pull one out for him.

Mostly this match will be more boring and both team will try fully to not give a goal, under 2.5 goal is a good bet and draw full time bet is also good.

The ‘No Ronaldo, No Party’ theme continues this season for Real Madrid. They’ve just lost again!
As a Liverpool fan losing in Kiev hurt, it hurt a lot so I’m enjoying seeing Real struggle at the moment. They are a spent force without Ronaldo it seems.

Missed the news, strangely, only headline I recall was Barca ploughing through even with stars injured. Definitely feels sweet to see them suffer, if they continue at this rate they may not even see Champions League action next season. And that, would be good to savour.

Personally thought the Ronaldo effect was overplayed, also thought Bale might step up for his sake.

Wrong on both counts, happy to be.

How bad is Messi’s injury? I’ve seen conflicting reports in various media outlets. I didn’t watch the game but saw stills of it & his arm looked bent in a very awkward angle.
According to Barca press release he is out for 3 weeks apprixamately:
https://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/news/2018-2019/messi-out-for-three-weeks-with-a-fractured-arm
So he's going to miss a few key games like the Champions League match against Inter and the Clasico against Real Madrid next weekend.

Fun fact: it'll be the first time in 11 years that we won't see Messi and Ronaldo playing El Clasico.

As a RM fan, I'm upset that Barcelona won't have Messi as I would've liked to see the best players on the pitch. On the other hand, we might have a shot against Barcelona, no Messi is a massive handicap, but still, given how shit we are right now (we've won 1 out the last 5 games in the league), I believe the chances of winning are very low. I'll take at least a draw.
With the way Real Madrid have been playing so poorly, it wouldn’t be surprising if Barcelona are able to beat them in the El Classico without Messi in the team and they should be even grateful that he is out injured.

Agreed, Messi would have sealed the victory within half an hour if he head played this game and Madrid kept their poor form. I now see the worth of Ronaldo to this Madrid squad and still can't understand why they sold him.

Money matters, i think it was Ronaldo's wish to leave the club and join Juventus as he got very high Package. But still without it Real Madrid are lacking the front end support. Now they are in 7th position in LA LIGA. I think Barcelona will beat Real Madrid easily with good goal margin.

It's not that bad as I expected, because it was really scary how his arm went.

Barca beat Sevilla 4:2 and they're back to the top of the league. But Messi suffered hand injury. It's most likely that he will miss El Clasico. It will be interesting to watch how Barca can play without him.
EDIT: Messi out for 3 weeks approximately...

I doubt they would replace the manager so early on the season. I have never seen Real Madrid doing such things from a long time now. I am the one who think that Mourinho should go away from Manchester United but still for Lopetegi here I think he has not had enough time to show his true colours with Real Madrid.

If I were Real Madrid president I would give him time at least until end of December before taking any final decision like firing him.
I think that upcoming UCL match and El Clasico can be crucial for Lopetegui - his chair is hot now. But can we blame hime for bad results when Perez didn't bought replacement for Ronaldo? I read that he is saving money for reconstruction of stadium. But if it's true, why he bought Courtois???
And I can't remember Real coach who was sacked in October. Speaking about recent managers, Schuster was sacked in December and Benitez in January.
And about Conte - there are many news about him in press. And quite reputable italian sources announced that he js new RM coach, so I think it can be true.

Another match same story Real Madrid turns up and is defeated, while one had to feel for their coach I feel the blame lies in the boardroom there was no need to let Zidane and Ronaldo leave together, and when it was clear Ronaldo was gone they should have brought in an immediate replacement. I don't think he'll get fired immediately he'll be judged on his performance in champions league and el Classico win that and he's save for now.

It's sad Messi won't be turning up for el Classico it'll be interesting how Barcelona perform without him, this is a good chance for fringe players to step up and claim a starting spot.

I just got a text message from a friend that Real's manager is being replaced by Conte.  Lol.  And that Conte already signed the contract.  Grin

Can anybody confirm this?
