Rodrygo is a centre-forward but the conditions are still not there and he is also a runner type of player so it is not very suitable. but it would be better if he was honed more in the middle especially for the wings at the moment there are Asensio and also Valverde who actually could be placed in this position too especially with the condition of Benzema who is getting older it is clear that there must be improvement in that. Unless indeed Madrid still want to find another player for that position.
I don't know if Rodrygo ever played as a center forward. But he seems more suitable as the right winger in Real Madrid. He is a quick player, he can deliver good assists, and he has accuracy in shooting. With his ability and his height (1,74 m), the ideal position for him is a winger (not a center forward). In my opinion, he must improve his physical strength and his height if he wants to be a center forward. If Real Madrid has no money, they can use the alternative to make Rodrygo be a CF. But if Real Madrid has a money to buy top striker, it is better to buy a new striker (Mbappe should be the ideal CF).

I believe that Benzema has two options i.e. try to find a new club and hope to secure one last big pay, or take a pay cut and stay at Madrid as a striker who’ll play from the bench for the 2023 - 2024 season. Furthermore Real Madrid have shown the door to Casillas, Ronaldo despite their legendary status, hence it’s only a matter of time before Benzema is shown the door too.
I don't think so, the news about a short-term contract extension until 2024 was heard a few months ago, I think this is a signal that he will still be at Mardri. regardless of how his current condition is, he is still very influential, especially when his body is back in shape and now he has decided to leave faster than the French national team and this is certain he will focus more on his career in the domestic league so nothing can making him leave as long as Perez is still happy with his form unless there is a better replacement later this is possible.
That's a better decision for him. He can focus to get another UCL again with real madrid rather than always think about how to be included in the national team that didn't make him feel satisfied with it. I hope that real madrid will give him new contract as soon as possible. Real madrid already hunted some new strikers as a replacement for him but he will have more years to stay in real madrid. Im still waiting his performance with real madrid despite his injury that was always preventing him to play with the club.
He is such a beast striker.

Benzema has announced that he has retired from France national team.

There have been so many big names announcing the same thing these days. Messi, Ronaldo and now Benzema... This is upsetting for football fans of course because we won't see these big players in big tournaments with their national teams anymore. They have been playing a big role in making these tournaments more watchable.
As far as i know if messi was also thinking to not retire from the international career. I think that messi is still thinking to winning the upcoming world cup that will be coming in 2026. It seems like that he was believing even he was not young again and he is still capable to defend the title

Yeah Messi was also seeming very determined about retiring from his national team. But I have also seen those news such as he won't be retiring soon. Maybe this World Cup title was a motivation for him to play even more time for his country rather than being enough for ending his national team career. Argentina would definitely like to see him playing for them for more years. Because they are very used to playing with a leader like Messi and I don't think they have a backup plan yet to implement in the absence of him.

Benzema's place can still be filled in France by the way. Giroud played really well in this World Cup and scored many goals. He can continue to play in his place or they can find another good striker to fill this place as France have really good talents.
If Messi go to the next world cup he might not be able to perform very well,I believe luck was at their side for them to win this year's world cup he has lost few in previous finals. The god of soccer favoured Argentina because they won the world cup last in 1986 which was 36yrs ago before this year victory. France didn't win as they were the defending champion,I don't see any country carrying the world cup back to back anymore it was in the 90s that such things can happen. Messi will have nothing to over if he goes to the next world cup as young stars will dominate the tournament.

Benzema's contract expires in June 2023, but I'm sure Real Madrid will renew his stay with the Whites again. It's just that, Benzema will only receive a one-year extension until 2024. This is due to Real Madrid's policy which will only give a one-year contract extension for players over 30 years of age. Even though Benzema has made a big contribution, that will not guarantee that he can last longer.
Even in this case I heard that both of them agreed to extend the contract until 2024 last October.
No matter how big the contribution is in Madrid, I think for a team this big you still won't see that, especially considering the previous condition of Madrid, which always with the same characteristics threw away some good players who were not too used, so I think this is also a reason for a contract extension one year.
Every player in Real Madrid is aware about the age condition of renew or extend his contract whatever his position and how good he is. Real Madrid wants fresh young good players to keep the team always competitive for a long period of time. They are working to win current competition while trying to secure the future of the team.
I assume Benzema will not be an exception.
Therefore, no matter how big the contribution to the team, it will not really affect this one club because they have always done that from before so it is not too strange if it is rare to see a player who has retired to Madrid.
On the other hand, this also makes the competition a bit more competitive actually because when old players are here it will be very difficult instead of forcing them it is better for them to find new moorings for their club and this will surely happen for Benzema sooner or later.

Benzema has been able to make a big contribution to Real Madrid. Madrid management's decision to add a contract for Benzema is very good and right, because the French striker can still be relied upon for the next season. Apart from that, Real Madrid have yet to find the right replacement. Rodrygo and Vinicius are not center forwards but wing stickers. So the Whites' management had to move quickly in the transfer market, a pure striker was required to maintain balance up front.

Benzema is currently a Real Madrid icon. He is a legend for the club for his contribution, but I think Benzema will have to face the fact that eventually he will get some time off or retire or not get another contract extension. Currently, Benzema still has the chance to get a contract extension, but I don't think for the next season.

Benzema's career is complete on an individual level, so it doesn't matter if he doesn't want to continue his career after he is 36 or 37 years old. One thing, his tenure with Real Madrid is coming to an end, that is a reality.
Real Madrid have extended with Benzema contract until 2024, this season not running well for Karim Benzema after missing several games with Real Madrid and he loss opportunity with World Cup after injuring. Finally Karim Benzema announced about he has retired from France national team and right now can focus 100% for Real Madrid.

Currently left two years later for Karim  Benzema contract expiry and he has enough time for showing his potential and consistency performance scoring goals on every match, however he has been key player for Real Madrid last season with UEFA Champion League trophy and I think Karim Benzema has potential repeating what did last season for Madrid.

Yes, that's why when there was a case about Benzema recently I didn't think the case would have any impact on Benzema's own career. Because after all, Benzema's age has also entered its final period, which means, Benzema is ready to retire. Unless Benzema is still obsessed with pursuing achievements like Ronaldo, then maybe Benzema will still continue to play.
But as far as I'm aware of Benzema, Benzema is not too obsessed with winning an individual title, so if Benzema chooses to retire when his contract expires then it will still be fine for him.

So, in the absence of excessive obsession, Benzema will still be able to play freely or at least not be burdened by his own obsession. Therefore, Benzema can still play in a different league if he feels that playing at Real Madrid is too draining and worries about his health.
But as a legendary player, of course, Benzema will still have a good future, whether it will be part of Real Madrid, such as serving on the board or any staff at Real Madrid.

Seeing from the development of La Liga, Atletico's actual performance has looked chaotic from the previous season and indeed now it still can't be said to be something good for them, especially with the condition of their game, which this season looks boring with its defensive strategy.
I think it would be great if Simoeone did something more tangible in the schematic change now. their players were actually above average but the state of their attack scheme wasn't very good.
This season is truly the antithesis of Atletico Madrid. Instead of being a challenger to Real Madrid and Barcelona, they are now a loser. Now Atletico Madrid fans are starting to doubt Diego Simeone's capacity.

Diego Simeone is one of the highest paid coaches in Europe. He has created a legacy at Atletico Madrid since coming to the Vicente Calderon in 2011. However, it seems that Simeone's golden era is beginning to erode. He was several times inaccurate in making decisions and it seemed that management had to evaluate them immediately.
This has also been the case from last season in how many doubted Simeone but he still persisted and said he was capable even though it seemed like a waste with his current condition.
But interestingly last season how bad they were in the end third place is the most comfortable place for them and right now it's not impossible to come back like that regardless of anything I feel right now there are only a few clubs that have the potential to be in the top 4 and of course it rules out Sevilla in terms of this.

It is really interesting that Real Madrid still haven't extended with Benzema. But I assume it has been due to the World Cup process. Maybe they wanted to wait for it to end to return to their targets as always. Benzema was injured for some time as well. However this injury shouldn't have a big impact on their decision to offer a new contract to him.

Benzema is still one of the important players in this team. Real Madrid owe him a lot especially in the previous season. I think they will extend with him at least for two more years.
Real Madrid owes ..but football is not the place of emotion.  It's a profession.  Who can give good in football and who will benefit the club.  Only keep him in the team.  The proof of which is Barcelona and Lionel Messi.  But Benzema is still fit enough to continue playing.  But if there is a better option, Real Madrid will take it.

I agree that professionalism comes first. But as long as Benzema stays helpful for the team he would surely stay longer.

Maybe he might not be able to play in the starting eleven until the end of his time at Real Madrid after one point. It depends on whether they make a top striker transfer next summer or some time in the future. I feel like they will surely do this because I don't think Benzema can always show a similar level of performance to the one in the previous season. He would start being less productive in scoring goals at one point which might cause him to lose his place in the starting eleven.

I feel like that's not going to be too easy, this guy is nearly 30 years old, and Real need a great striker for the future. Anyone who is like 25-26 would have been a lot better for them. I keep saying that not getting Jesus this summer was the biggest mistake they did, they hoped for Mbappe and I still think that is a sliver of chance they might, he loves Real, so it's possible.
However, having Jesus to replace Benzema would be awesome, he would be playing both now, and also in the future and he is super young as well. They decided they are going to wait for one more year, and because Benzema had a Ballon D'or level year, they didn't want to bench him following year.
What I think is that Benzema will be at Real Madrid until the year 2024, he will do nothing more than look for a younger striker, I don't see a 30-year-old player hired by Real Madrid, especially now in the World Cup Some very good forwards from some countries have been seen, however, I would be inclined towards them wanting to sign Brazilians, Portuguese, who are young who are trained after the best forwards that Real Madrid still has, without a doubt Real Madrid will keep Vinicius Jr who is a very good front.
In the development of the World Cup we will see more class from the forwards, we are in the Round of 16 and Semifinals phase.

Real Madrid: Josko Gvardiol reacts to Los Blancos transfer rumours

Quote
The 20-year-old defensive wunderkind has been highly impressive at the World Cup and has also been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League side Chelsea.
Amid Croatia’s World Cup success, Gvardiol took time to acknowledge potential links with Real Madrid in a way which may excite Madrid fans, given the club’s history of signing players on the back of strong World Cup showings.

There are many rumors, we just need to wait to see what can be presented in the next few days, but the negotiations are undoubtedly already here.

Real Madrid have been purchasing the best players of the World Cup for the last few decades. We have seen that in the case of Mesut Özil, and James Rodriguez and I'm pretty sure we will see the star player signing for Real Madrid after this World Cup as well. I think that they really need a lethal striker as a backup for Benzema as he is aging well and will only be able to serve Real Madrid for I think at most two more seasons. Also, I have heard rumors that Real Madrid are interested in Jude Bellingham but I think they need to get a striker first. Harry Kane seems like a good option for that but I doubt that he is 30 years old and will only play well for too long.

Honestly, Kane would be a great acquisition, but due to his age I don't think they are very interested, unless it is for 1 or 2 years maximum, Real Madrid is interested in young players, like Gonzalo from Portugal, or Joao Félix They already have a Vinicius Jr, but I think they are going to get more, because there are already several players who are going to leave Real Madrid little by little and the team's portfolio is open to new options and the best thing is that it will be open to more players, regardless of the price, because it is a really rich team, of course we cannot rule out one of the richest teams like PSG that also wants to strengthen itself and may be Real Madrid's competition.

He is at the level of Messi, Cristiano.
Oh I'm sorry, but he don't. Benzema is not up to par for individual achievements. But he one of the best striker.

I also think that Benzema is not at this level. And if you compare Benzema's performance to that of Messi and Ronaldo, he doesn't even come close to either. Then of course we are not talking about the current performance on the field, but about the past few years. And Ronaldo and Messi have shot all records from the books. As far as I'm concerned, the only ones who seem to be able to match Messi and Ronaldo are Mbappe and Haaland. But Haaland looks a bit woodier and less dynamic. Benzema will stop with France as an international, but I expect he will stay with Real Madrid for a few more seasons.

What happens I know that all these players have a very different style of football, in the case of Benzema it is different, remember that he has a finger that needs surgery, that he has a fractured finger and that little pain sometimes slows down a little despite everything the effort can be made with the legs and feet, a nuisance, however small it may be, is a nuisance, with respect to Benzema retiring, that is up to him, he is a very complete player, and if he wants to retire, he is in everything His right, although I think he should hold on a little longer so he can go to the next World Cup, is a player who has a lot to give.

Griezmann and Lloris didn’t want Benzema on the French national team -report

Quote
When Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema was forced to return to the Spanish capital with a muscle injury, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and playmaker Antoine Griezmann were happy as they thought Benzema’s presence could put their leadership in jeopardy, according to a report from French reporter Romain Molina.

Molina adds that Giroud and Benzema’s problems are a thing of the past now, with Giroud wanting to start alongside Benzema in the World Cup and not being part of the issue during this tournament.

Benzema found out in Madrid that his injury wasn’t as bad as the French Football Federation had told him, and the attacker wanted to stay in Doha all along so that he could recover for the Quarterfinals or even the Round of 16, per that same report. However, the French Football Federation and coach Didier Deschamps never considered Benzema’s return to the squad so that Lloris and Griezmann could lead the team.

You know public doesn't know what's going to happen when you see polls like this. We are ignoring and not talking about the poll results, Barcelona leading the league right now, and yes maybe they won't win the league it is still not known. However, the difference is 100+ votes to just 40 or so, that shows you that people have no idea who would win, because if they knew it would have been close like the race.

If Real wins, they will win with close points, not as much difference between them and Barcelona as the poll results indicate. It's fine though, considering sports betting is one of the most profitable business' in the world, it's normal, because we all lose and that's why those companies make so much profit.

Can you imagine that Real Madrid are signing Haaland and Mbappe both in the future and building a literally dream team?  Grin

Who knows it isn't impossible in the end. I already think about Mbappe transfer to happen in a few years. I think he will spend his time with PSG for 2 or 3 more years the most - including this one. After that Real Madrid would have the upper hand on signing Mbappe rather than some other team. They were already close to it last summer but PSG's insane contract changed his mind. Real Madrid would just offer a similar contract and convince him. Haaland is also going to be available by paying his release clause in 2 years seemingly. Real Madrid might find a way to lure him also.

There would be an amazing trio of Vinicius Jr - Haaland - Mbappe.  Smiley
Lol
That would obviously be the scariest team for a club like Real Madrid. Hopefully one day it will happen, nothing is impossible in football, even Ronaldo ended up landing at Al Nassr. For now, Haaland is at the right club and treating him as he should. Man City is very loyal to Haaland. As far as I know, Haaland for the next 3-5 seasons will still be seen at Man City. Vinicius Jr, Haaland and Mbappe were up front in perfect formation. It's unimaginable if these three dangerous players complement each other's attacks.

A busy schedule sometimes makes players vulnerable to fatigue and injury, something like this could have happened to Benzema if he had not decided to focus on just one goal and the policy that Benzema had chosen was absolutely correct. Playing at the club level with so many existing competitions is of course a definite calculation for Benzema.
Yep. He already made the right decision, focus on Real Madrid is a must if he still cares about his fitness/health. He won't be worried to retire from France team since there are some young strikers to replace his role. Mbappe and Nkunku seem to be the next CF in France team, they are still young and has a long time to play. While for Benzema, he will focus on Real Madrid now. With no international schedule with France national team, Benzema can use 100% his energy to Real Madrid.

Maybe Benzema thinks that instead of having to spend time with the French national team, it's better for him to devote all his time to Real Madrid. The figure of Benzema for the Los Blancos squad is very important considering that only he is currently the only one who can be a role model as well as the team captain and Carlo Ancelloti seems to be continuing to provide opportunities to play for him. The French national team will grow with young players as you mentioned Mbappe and Nkunku are the best strikers for France at the moment, but as for Benzema's role in the French national team so far there has been no one to replace him.

I believe that Benzema has two options i.e. try to find a new club and hope to secure one last big pay, or take a pay cut and stay at Madrid as a striker who’ll play from the bench for the 2023 - 2024 season. I hope instead that he recovers, he seems a little down in tone and also down in morale
I don't understand what happened to him, he's very far from the shape of months ago (mental and physical)

benzema is very nice to me, with Real Madrid, Benzema won numerous trophies, including 4 Spanish Liga championships and 4 Copa del Rey! is a rock
Karim Benzema has been a blessing for Real Madrid. After Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema has led the Real Madrid team forward. Real Madrid has won many titles since Karim Benzema feat. Karim Benzema is really a great player, Karim Benzema is greatly missed by football fans in this World Cup.
It's a shame we didn't see him play for France in the World Cup. If he can play then the competition will be even more interesting at that time, especially in the final match against Argentina. Since many players who have brought success to Real Madrid have left, Karim Benzema has become one of the players who can bring success to Real Madrid in La Liga and the Champions League. He also won the Ballon D'oR last season.

Atletico's performance at the start of this season was not very good, even their appearance on the Champions League stage was really messy. currently Diego Simeone's army is ranked 5th, under Athletic Club even though they have the same points. amazingly, Real Sociedad is in 3rd place which is usually occupied by Atletico Madrid. even so, I am quite optimistic that Diego Simeone's troops will be able to finish in the top four until the end of this season. because after all, the difference in points between the 3rd rank and the rank occupied by the ATM is only 2 points apart.
Seeing from the development of La Liga, Atletico's actual performance has looked chaotic from the previous season and indeed now it still can't be said to be something good for them, especially with the condition of their game, which this season looks boring with its defensive strategy.
