As far as I know Madrid they very rarely provide a place for a player let alone retire there because only a few players can reach that stage.
They will not hesitate to remove from the squad when performance or other things such as injuries and decreased performance occur, regardless of how expensive or how big their services are there.
There have been so many victims so I feel like Benzema will eventually leave and can't retire here unless he decides to retire early while his contract is still out but this is even more unlikely it seems.

Benzema was injured, that's why he missed many games and wasn't that fit in the others. Lately he was pissed from the French team attitude to kick him out from World Cup games since he was injured even though he was able to play. He accused them of cheating him and not allowing him to play for a reason or another.

It's better for benzema to stay at real madrid for the more years. Real madrid has been going to the last 16 and real madrid potentially to win UCL again. Benzema can come back anytime once he will be fully recovered from his injury. It's a common thing when a player takes more time to recover. Benzema can also be called as an old player caused by his age was 35 years old. It's very hard to find a new club at the half season. He might be ended being the same like ronaldo who has been terminated by MU.
It's better for him to stay with real madrid rather than try to go to the new club. There's no guarantee if he will be getting a new club as soon as possible before the transfer season will be end

So if real Madrid or Barcelona could draw or lose 3 match you know what effect this could course on their position at the table.
