I’m sorry, but I must disagree with you on this, Real Madrid are not in their best shape this season, or any other season compared to the talented players and squad they have got now. It’s really worrying to me when you see them struggle against teams that we consider having lower chances to win or perform. Their last match in Copa del Rey went for extra time against Celta Vigo, for many reasons, the defensive line of Madrid isn’t able to keep the pressure off, when playing against any team that can create or build a good attack attempt, we see many gaps and danger.
It’s disappointing for me that Real Madrid is always in the same road with Ancelotti, the coach is very limited in my opinion, Madrid can perform way better and win many matches if they only changed their strategies, they have players and strength to easily beat any team with a huge difference. Extra time saw them play with more stability and there's no denying that Valverde's spot-kicks are really hard to reach and he's always excellent with such spot-kicks because after all it's not the first time he's done it.The youngsters like Arda, Endrick and some of the other players like Asencio despite a few mistakes in the second half did pretty well overall for the age they are and the big competitions they are involved in.

It's not just the defence. People often talk about how a change in the defence is needed but they forget the midfield. I understand that Madrid needs a LB, a RB and at least a CB, but they also need a DM and a CM, and the central midfielder should be a very creative one. Tchouaméni is their DM and he's not good enough, Camavinga is not a natural DM and he's always injured. Bellingham is more of a striker than a CM. Valverde is good but he doesn't know how to control a midfield. When you have a midfield like that the team struggles.
