The idea Barcelona had was that if they could get away with one more season of postponing the problems, they could just win the league, and maybe super copa and all that, and make some money, and hell maybe do fine at UCL would also be nice, if you do that few times in a row, there is almost no money problems left because of how much they would make, look at Xavi time, he won once, and they had so much space opened up, do that two more times in a row and suddenly you are fine. This season, Real Madrid and Barcelona has met on 3 several occasions and there main problem has always been the same thing, the defenders are lacking and there is no way they could have won that game. The forward was good that Mbape was so fast to make a good entry goal early in the match but fast forward, the defenders were not doing there job and there is absolutely no way you are going to win a game when your defenders are playing like sick people.
