Atlético's performance was very unpredictable especially this season, they actually had a good start but disaster came when Suarez was injured and several other players followed. although the storm passed quickly but not with its productivity.

I've always considered Atletico to be a strong team, at least Diego Simeone can always make Atletico in the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League.
Although I admit that Atletico have often failed to win the La Liga trophy, but the 2020/2021 season Atlético proved they were the team that could
finally end the domination of Real Madrid and Barcelona. So it's only natural that this season Diego Simeone failed to defend the La Liga trophy,

That's why I said it's impossible for Atletico to sack Simeone, because basically Atletico are a strong team under Simeone's management so if they only fail to defend the title it is something that is natural. Because the stronger team will still be difficult to defend the title, so it is not wrong when there is a saying that "maintaining is harder than getting". So, a team like Atlético when they won the title was certainly great and good but we also can't expect it to be able to keep it because of course it's difficult for Atletico.

Next season will belong to Barcelona who will compete with Atletico Madrid's city rivals, Real Madrid. The 2021/2022 season wasn't a great season for ATM, but it has still been a good season for Barcelona in La Liga since the arrival of Xavi Hernandez in the middle of the season. Xavi will have more time to organize Barcelona's success next season.

That's right, Atletico Madrid's 2020-2021 season won Laliga and it was Simione's second title as their coach. Simeone has won a total of 8 titles since he coached Atletico Madrid, and he has also won the title of coach of the world's best club in the 2015-16 season.

But the reality is that, their defense was good enough, they just played a system very different in UCL and in La Liga, in La liga they scored third highest goals, and that is why their goals conceded didn't matter, but when you look at how they could defend in champions league, you see that they were quite capable of it and defended so well that it was like Mourinho Chelsea levels of park the bus and they were great. It just wasn't their system during the league.

Atletico Madrid has certainly lost their winning spirit. It is quite true that they often don't make very big transfers. It has been the case for quite some time now.

Making Griezmann permanent is obviously great news but I really think they should also keep Suarez in the team, they should invest some money to improve their defensive lineup. They have not been doing so great in La Liga as well as European competitions. I really don't know about others but I expect better from Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid is way better this season than all the others clubs, thanks to the performance of its main players especially Benzema and Vinicius Junior.
ATM used to be a quite solid club thanks to Simeone annoying tactics that let the club receive fewer goals, this didn't work perfectly this year.
Sevilla in the other hand fluctuated a lot and they need to consolidate their attack line in order to be more competitive.

Not as bad as imagined, Atletico Madrid still managed to finish in a safe position to qualify for next season's Champions League behind Barcelona with a total of 71 points. In the league, Atletico Madrid have lost just 9 times, draw 8 times and won 21 times this season. That's a good statistic for them even though they could have ended the season better.

There are rumors of Atletico Madrid's rejection of Morata's future at Juventus, he is rumored to be returning to Atletico Madrid next season. IMO, that would have made them more stable without Suarez and I've also heard rumors about Atletico's interest in Sterling recently.
