I think this result is fair enough. Two teams played well. Atletico stopped Villareal's winning streak. Their four wins came to a halt with Kondogbia's goal. I was pretty caught up with a long-range goal from Correa. Villareal's goalkeeper could only be stunned to see the ball go into the net. The draw leaves Atletico with the same points as Socieddad. After this they will compete in the Supercoppa de espana and Copa del Rey. Next they will play Valencia in the league.

I think Atletico Madrid are out of the title race they can't keep the title , this season Madrid and Sevilla are the main candidates while Barcelona and Atletico only compete for CL tickets.

I think that a championship race between Real Madrid and Sevilla will not be a very long race. Sevilla will break out of the race after a while and Real Madrid will be on their way to the championship alone. If we look at the games played this year, Real Madrid is the only team in La Liga as the favorite of the championship.

Atletico Madrid and Villareal made very interesting match with many goals and so many arguable moments.

Each coach has his own philosophy so you can not require a coach to change it. If he does it, he will make thing worse, not better. Please don't ask coach like Conte, Mourinho or Simeone have to manage their teams to play aggressively attacking. Don't ask coaches like Klopp, Pep to require their players to play seriously defensive.

They can make such changes but I am sure they will fail because they are not experts with such tactics so how will they bring success to their clubs?

Sevilla next match are against valencia , they could cut the points from 5 to 2 by 19 january as real madrid next match will be played on 23 january against elche. i wish sevilla could grab the full three points from valencia as los murciélagos have lost their last two matches consecutively, could be the third one against sevilla.

they shouldnt wasted that chance if they are being serious chasing the la liga title.

realistically speaking:
- Athletic doesn't have any chance of being champion and even for UCL they won't make it, they now just need to focus on this at least in the top 5 something that will also be a difficult mission

I still think that ATM are still capable of getting back in the top 4 and finishing the league in the top 4.
Maybe the league title is lost this season, but they can surely get back to the top 4.
They have quality players and Simeone knows how to win matches. Maybe things aren't working for a few matches but I hope they will be able to figure out the mistakes and fix them as soon as possible. So I think that Simeone should progress match by match and I hope that he will fix these mistakes done in these recent matches.

Atletico madrid has not performed to its potential this season and they must be dissapointed with that. Yes thete is still a chance for them to get into top 4 but things would have quiet easier for them if they performed at their best. They were my favorites so I am dissapointed. Still I would be cheering for them and I hope they will give their best now.

The difference in the score is getting thinner which is being built by Sevilla. Real Madrid hasn't fully experienced the nightmare yet, but we see Real Madrid, next opponent, Elche who is at the bottom of the table and provides an unmissable opportunity to add more points. It's still a tough task for Sevilla to put pressure on Real Madrid.

Real Madrid and Sevilla both won, so practically nothing has changed at the table. If there was no competition between Real Madrid and Sevilla then La Liga would be boring because Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are further behind Real Madrid and Sevilla. It's been a tough season for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Football is full of surprises just like when Getafe beat Real Madrid and I think it's surprises like this that make title races even more exciting.
