Espanyol have been regalated...Sad day for us Real Madrid fans, playing against espanyol were 6 points 100% garanteed almost every season  Cry
I thought it's only me who realizes that lol. That's a fact, Espanyol would rather let Madrid win the league instead of Barca.

Lol no problem mate. If Benzema couldn't convert it, guess what, there would be another penalty in next 10 mins Wink
Correct, because as Simeone says: "VAR favours those who attack because they're given more penalties"  Smiley
He is right! Though I think the amount of penalties given in La Liga because of VAR is higher than other leagues Undecided

-snip-
Never gonna get bored from Barca and Madrid fans comments lol Tongue
We evolved from complaining about referees decisions in the field to the VAR referees decisions behind closed doors. Well VAR isn't bad after all and a penalty for tomahawk9 Grin

Boring games today, maybe Athletic - Sevilla is slightly better...

Anyways, we have a pretty big game tonight: Bilbao - Sevilla. Both need the 3 points to keep the europan dream alive (europa for Bilbao, CL for Sevilla). BTTS is decent pick, i might risk it with First Half O1.5 cards @1.53 in a multi, i've got a feeling we're going to see a lot of yellow cards (Bilbao avg yellow cards per home game after the restart is 4).

EDIT* forgot to mention that if Eibar wins against Leganes today, Leganes will be relagated...this one's gonna be an intense match too.

Espanyol bid farewell to Liga after losing to Barcelona, in fact there is a significant decline in the performance of the Koran for Espanyol, he must search for a solution in order to return to the first degree in the next two seasons.

I genuinely don't know what happened to Espanyol this season. Last season I think they were on a Europe League spot and now they are on the last place. With the squad they have available,I'm sure next season they will rip through every team in the second league and have no problems promoting back to LaLiga but this is still a terrible result for a club like Espanyol.

Btw the win against Espanyol was a needed one, and a slip from Real Madrid would be welcomed too  Wink

Well don't worry, once things become tough and hard for Real Madrid to score, there would be a penalty given for sure lol.

But there won’t be a Ramos to take and convert it, LOL  Tongue

Tensions between Barcelona and Antoine Griezmann seem to have calmed down and love blooms again  Grin Grin
''Quique Setien started the Frenchman against Villarreal and Espanyol.
But the big news came this week when he met with the club and he was told that they have complete faith in him.''

So, it seems that the Frenchman is staying in Barcelona and that they are seriously counting on him.

Why would anyone trust this Barcelona board ? Griezmann is fantastic talent, but he was never the player meant for Barcelona to begin with, the board only signed him for a big signing and publicity imho. Barcelona are able to get a perfect winger or Dembele up to speed (and out of consistent injury), Griezmann time in the club will be severely threatened.

Ath.Bilbao - Sevilla

This will be very interesting match to watch and hard to predict, which adds more charm to it Cheesy

Both teams are looking for points. Sevilla needs to win to ensure Champions league as Villareal is getting closer and Bilbao still theoretically has a chance to reach Europa league.

Basks are always tough opponent when playing at their home stadium so predict this will be a draw in the end. By looking at Sevilla's away form draw seems like less risky bet as I don't believe Sevilla will loose this, but with Basks you never know after all.

Anyway should be a fun match to watch.

I agree La Liga without the Barcelona derby indeed feels strange, but the match Barcelona vs Espanyol is indeed very exciting.
Seen the two teams struggling to get the victory, it was proven in the match that Jose Munuera's referee had to issue 2 red cards.
The game was very hard, but in Barcelona's quality was better. Therefore Luis Suarez managed to make Barcelona win the derby match.
And Espanyol must be willing to go down to the Segunda Divisions.
Barcelona derby will always display interesting games. Almost every game, I think both Barcelona and Spain always look good and difficult. Although Barcelona are a star-studded team, but when the match starts, Espanyol will never feel afraid and this match is one of the awaited matches besides Elclasico.

Although there are two red cards in a match for each team, but the results of this match will be important for Barcelona because they must always win while hoping that Madrid loses. LOL. And of course, not the results desired by Espanyol because they will be out of the major league next season.

So, we sent Espanyol where they belongs - Segunda Division Cheesy. But La Liga without Barcelona derby will be strange.
Match was really tough. I can't comment much about game because my broadcast lagged a lot during whole game, so it was almost impossible to watch it. But from what I saw, Espanyol played decent and had some good moments to score.

Did you watch Maradona when he played for Napoli and when he helped average team to become champion in Italy?
Yes, I did. I have watched many matches played by Maradona and I know well how they can make a big influence to the match. Indeed, Napoli can be a big team because of his unusual performance there. He is one of my favorite players in that era besides Pelle from Brazil.

One player really can make difference and help his team to win.
Yes, I know it and I never ignore it. Moreover, he is a striker, the same as Linoel Messi. He has done many times the difference in his matches. As players like Maradona, Messi, Pelle, Zidane, Maldini, CR7, Ronaldo from Brazil, Ronaldinho, or others have extraordinary skills, then it will be easy for them to make a difference in the matches. But when you are not in your best performance, you cannot do it all time. So, you need teammates to support you.

other players are also important but in the case of Barcelona,  right now only 2 players are on the top level,  Messi and ter Stegen and it's not enough for them to make good result.
Of course, Messi and Ter Stegen aren't enough to win the matches. How if others play badly? They can ruin the matches with their mistakes. In football, we don't focus on making goals only but also on how to prevent goal conceding.

If Seville win against Bilbao in tomorrow's match, they will be able to compete against Atlético for the third qualifying seat for the CL.

So, Atletico slip up and if Sevilla lose the next match, there is a slim chance that Villareal can creep back up you think everyone? <...>
i would love to see Villareal back in the Champions League  Smiley would rather see Sevilla in a competition they know pretty well: europa league

three games today, but i'll add only one to a parlay: Barca - Espanyol O2.5 goals @1.45. Considering that Barcelona's true potential was unleashed in that 4-1 win versus a Villareal in great form, and this a great chance to put some pressure on Real madrid, i can see messi & co using the Camp Nou as a traning ground with Espanyol as cones =P
Today if Villareal won against Getafe then they have very few chances to reach Champions League because Atletico is already in good position and Sevilla and Villareal have some tough task to do for this and after today
Atl. Madrid vs Betis
Getafe vs Atl. Madrid
Atl. Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Sevilla vs Mallorca
Real Sociedad vs Sevilla
Sevilla vs Valencia

Villarreal vs Real Sociedad
Real Madrid vs Villarreal
Villarreal vs Eibar

When it comes to a derby match of old rivalries, it has nothing to do with present team form or league position and it is one reason why even playing in the best team does not guarantee victory. It's either a draw or Barcelona win with a goal margin

usually, this is not an easy match for Barcelona, but do not think that tonight Espanyol will have any chances with Barca, they are already relegated, and do not have some motives to fight, and without grit, it is just a regular match, with a fast first goal for Barca, there could be four or more goals in Espanyol net tonight

Barcelona is facing Espanyol tonight in the Catalunyan derby.
They have to win this game if they want to keep competing with Real and if they want to win the title.
Espanyol is not a strong opponent as they have only gathered 24 points in 34 games.

You have said it all, Barcelona has to win the match today against their long term rival, neighbors and stubborn opponents. Espanyol is known to be up for the fight and place with full determination when it comes to playing against Barcelona their old rivals and tonight fixture won't be any different. If Barcelona lose Tonight, it means they have signed off the league title to Madrid.

Barcelona - Espanyol, look at this :
Barca to win = x1.19
A draw = x7.6
Espanyol to win = x17. That's humiliating, although their last game was a draw. Go Espanyol you can make it  Embarrassed
A part Barca which seems easy to predict, the other two games are harder. I think Villareal will win vs Getafe and a draw between Osasuna and Betis.
