Stats may say otherwise but Barcelona played awful today. Under Quique Setien, Barcelona find the way to pass quickly between players but where is the final product? Just for an example, out of 14 shots Barcelona registered 11 came from Messi. He was only active player for Barcelona today apart from Ter Stegen. But his performance was also below par. He missed all his 11 shots. He failed to convert any of the 4 free kicks (one was only 21m away). When you are Lionel Messi, fans expect better from you.

So in the nutshell, coach changed but situation isn't.
Messi's Good Day = Barca's Good Day
Messi's Bad Day = Barca's Awful Day

Yup. That's what I love about football cos sometimes the stats doesn't really translate how good (or bad) the club played during that fixture. Prolly cos the way it is, it's more flowing... (That's why I hate VAR)

I remember some people told the same thing when Barca lose against Liverpool in the Champions League last year. It looks like whenever Barca loses or drops points some people find it difficult to accept.

Ah well, I didn't want to say anything but even silence couldn't jinx Real Madrid. I know the season is still long but I think the signs have been there for Barca for so long. Match fixing It is impossible for a big team, especially like Barcelona. They lost a little normally, because it was the first match with a new coach, and indeed before that Barcelona were not in good form either. indeed I also saw the oddities of some of the big teams leaving disappointing.

He did lot of great things for Atletico. I'm not saying that he should be sacked, but I'm not sure that he still have something new to offer for Atleti.
And I'm very sceptical about their chances in Champions league, because they meet Liverpool.

Atletico Madrid drew with leganes in his own home, even though he had a bad season. Real Sociedad was losing for 2 games this week, I can say that it broke the series. Let's see how much more it will be.

For a club as big as Barcelona I don't think it's possible to set a score. I saw the match on television. Valencia indeed played very extraordinary with a very good defense. And one more, Messi also played normal in this match. I think this week Barcelona did play poorly and Atletico Madrid were just out of luck

Valladolid will host Real Madrid tonight. I believe Real Madrid will not have the bad luck they have because Real Madrid has a commitment to win to catch Barcelona.

but if you look at Real Madrid statistics, they are also not so good often losing points in their last few games. Even when Real Madrid away against Alaves and Mallorca, Real Madrid lost even though both of them were the bottom-tier teams. even when playing at home they still often get draws.

In terms of performance the players are still not perfect for Real Madrid and I see the eden hazard game is not like in Chelsea which is so nimble but after moving to Real Madrid this is very different what might be many rivals in Real Madrid players?

Good thing is that Dembele is back into training session. Reports claim that he will get some minutes in Cup clash vs Leganes. I agree that Dembele showed lack of professionalism in past but such behaviour reduced his market value by $30M. I hope he had got back some senses and hope he plays better now because on his best days, he is even better than Mbappe to be honest.

And yes, we can't compare Dembele with Suarez. Dembele is a young winger whereas Suarez is one of the best striker. He can never fulfil his space in team and Barcelona still need someone else in place of Suarez for the striker position. But playing Dembele will surely reduce dependency on Messi. If Dembele could play on right wing and find spaces through defense then Messi can play mainly as attacking midfielder and take shots as false nine in the absence of Suarez. It is not possible with Ansu Fati as he's very weak on right wing and tackled every time he tried to make his way into the box.
