There are three ways to prove they're hashing.

1) Join a pool. - most obvious method. Maybe they don't have CGMiner drivers written or something like that.
2) Mark blocks.  They say they will start doing this 'soon', which implies their software still isn't setup to do it.
3) Point to a specific address.

#3 is by far the most obvious.  In fact, you can't even mine without doing it. So if they are mining they must have a specified output address.

There is literally zero reason why they can't tell us what address their solo-mining operation is pointing too.  All they would need to do is copy and paste it out of an email and post it in the thread.

This whole thing definitely feels weird. Something isn't completely on the up and up here.

I don't think they're an outright scam, but I no longer believe they're actually hashing.  I won't believe it until I see a stamped block or they join a pool.

I agree.

Think about it, you get your first 2,000 GH/s and you want to start earning back some Bitcoin, so you use a pool.

They could be mining at a pool, generating the first dividend. But nope. They are "solomining" and they will miss all the difficulty changes and lose our money.

They could be generating some amount of Bitcoin every day through a pool.

The issue with using a pool? They would have to give out their pool name because 2th/s gets you in the top 25 at btcguild.

I really think they said solomining because they are not mining at all.

There is no valid reason to not have posted pictures by now.

Self-reported hashing meter won't cut it now.

And how do you think the templates made?

I'm going to need a template of a template...

Lets not forget the faked chip order documents with the Photoshopped logos and cut/paste stuff. Its clear as crystal, yet Labcoin dreams live on.

How do you think real forms are made?  You don't think it involves cutting and pasting?

No, usually people have templates made that you can fill in or a program that takes the information and includes it in an automated thing. Logos are included in headers and such. I guess if the company is just really sloppy.

And how do you think the templates made?

Corporations don't hire graphic designers to design every single internal form that the company uses.  Usually someone whips something up in MS Office in a few minutes, and that's that.  If it doesn't need to look pretty, it won't.

CLARIFICATION:

The "48 hour" update was made based on information I received from Sam. The problem was that when I made the update Sam had already posted an update in the thread so it became pointless.

As for speculation that somehow me and TheSeven is the same person, I can only say that this of course is not the case.

TheSwede75 you know well about alter ego of project manager...how can you be waiting for his upate
and what is identity of mystery man here?

I found it strange looking back how TheSwede announced that the Q&A session was just about to start but didn't attend himself in the chat room.. Being the main PR guy and all, and the IP of labocoin_dev pointing to a Swedish host..  Roll Eyes

UPDATE:

The developers are now open for live Q/A on IRC irc.freenode.org - #labcoin

Labcoin is still waiting for the Bitcointalk accounts to be whitelisted. Unfortunately I will be traveling today and have very limited Internet access for a few hours, so if someone from this thread would like to transcribe the Q/A for the forum I would be very grateful.

The Founder and the Developers WILL hold Q/A sessions and answer questions here on the forum as soon as their accounts are white-listed.

TheSwede75 is located in USA.

Is there a way to monitor a team on BTC Guild? there is a team labcoin

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2568834

I dont know much about that kinda stuff.

Why would they test on TRC? If they have Avalons why not just use them to mine Bitcoins?

I get the feeling its a symptom of having to rely on foundries (third parties) and promising deadlines that cannot be kept.

2. the whole chip fabrication is very mathematically predictable based on the number of layers your ASIC has and the speed which the fabrication company can produce a layer. There is no such thing as a fabrication company giving a "fuzzy" date when it comes to when the chips will come from the assembly line. The only number that can vary is the shipping time from the fabrication company to the packaging company, but even that is no more than a few days of difference, depending on the shipping method.

Its only mathematically predictable if you factor in unforeseen developments/issues.

Funny how it can be so predictable yet Avalon is behind on its chips, BFL is behind on its chips, etc...

I'm not sure how much business you have been in, but the most seemingly simple task will break down at some point and cause delays.

You think that the world is in a optimal state and that all processes will run as if modelled in a simulator.

The fact is there have been delays in ASIC companies getting their chips. This is known and cannot be waved away due to a hypothetical best case scenario.

Hey Virgil,

Why dont you sell and leave this thread?
I am here because I want answers, to which I believe I am entitled.

Why doyou care about answers if you already think its a scam?

I want all of you to consider this:

Burnside has already confirmed that the vast majority of Labcoin shares are owned by an account he knows to be controlled by Labcoin.

If Labcoin were a scam, then the people involved would already know this, and of course would be monitoring the share price pretty closely.

As far as I understand, Burnside hasn't 'officially' locked those shares, and yet there has been no massive selloff from that account. Wouldn't you think that if it were a scam, the Labcoin account would try and get as much for those shares before they completely crashed?

But this hasn't happened.

Yes, many people here are concerned that an official response has not appeared to quell the FUD. If Labcoin were a scam, I would expect terror-filled scammers to be filling this thread with warm reassurances to prop up the price of the shares until they could squeeze out as much as they could.

Yet this hasn't happened. Why? They know it isn't a scam, and their future profits rest on the hero's portion of the dividends they will be receiving, not the price of the stock to sell off.

This is why I take their relative silence as a comforting sign. I would be far more concerned if they magically appeared at Limbaugh's sardonic tirade to attempt a 'feel good' PR response.

But please understand, I am a bear of very little brain, and long words bother me.

Because they haven't paid the fucking dividend yet when they get to raise the share price and dump! Jesus christ you guys are fucking retarded. Just because they haven't sold off all their shares at the moment doesn't mean they don't plan on doing so!
And yet another one of the unfulfilled promises. "Share-locking"

As said, this is a legitimate operation, and all signs should point at that if you ask your common sense.

We think we gave enough evidence that our company and achievements are real to avoid being labeled as a "scam". Our company is sitting on valuable hardware and intellectual property and we're confident we will delivery nice performances to our shareholders.

Look for a chip magnification, like those we posted, those are a good indications of the IC being really engineered and not a lie. But don't take them either as granted, it's not so hard to manipulate an EDA tool and obtain such images, or photoshop might be an even easier option.

You need to follow the development and do your own research about the consistency of the informations posted afterwards, and it's not always easy;

I want close this post by saying that we will provide btct.co or bitfunder full indentifications documents regarding the people behind this project.

I'm just saying, when you look at all the little pieces and all the inconsistencies or the consistent broken promises it forms a big picture. We are dealing with a scam.
