Clueless!
Diff on LTC now 9758801.1623634

Is not worth the invest right now, stop buying L3+ guys, now you get less than 2 usd daily in proffit, and it will be lower, it was 20 usd only 5 months ago, in 3 months you will pay
more for electricity than you mine.

Stop buying L3+  , lets give Bitman a lesson, they need to stop building this like toasters.

This is an L3+ at 500mh and 800watts and $150 LTC at my new rate (all year, month to month) of 14c kwh (up 2c kwh from yearly plan of 2017 in data hall)

$1.22 a day (which is the lowest I've seen since the $1.32 2 weeks ago calc on this thread) 10c drop ..this again is all time low...

I used www.litecoinpool.org/calc which is LTC only pool, free pool, and pays 101% which is reflected in their calculator

24 hours   0.02602488 LTC   3.90 USD   2.69 USD   1.22 USD
7 days   0.18217413 LTC   27.33 USD   18.82 USD   8.51 USD
30 days   0.78074626 LTC   117.11 USD   80.64 USD   36.47 USD

So, I had some windfall and sold some dubious alts about 6k  and found out I don't owe the 6k I thought to the IRS for my quarterly look-see with the CPA...so I'm gonna sit on this

windfall (retired source of income crypto...till I'm 66 and will touch traditional retirement funds and soc security..hey, it is a goal, unlikely maybe but a goal!) and just

HODL,HODL,HODL my LTC till this FALL 2018....sit on hands, mine like hell, live off above...pray a lot to the ASIC gods on an LTC price pump.....and fidget! a lot!

IF, the L3+ goes the way of the KNC Titan (doorstop) before say Bitmain puts out in the fall a new unit (the supposed 1.5gh 400-watt scrypt-pow miner) well, I will be

out of any big time mining at that point..not gonna start over from scratch and especially not go crypto to equip pre-order with these new 2018 Bitmain games of

mining themselves for 5 months before you get units, and almost daily adjustments to the pricing of the units (of any flavor Bitmain ASIC) and of course the massive amount of

'toasters' they push out...no ...I'll go back to 2 units in the basement for fun ASIC's of whatever flavor and hobby mine...not gonna watch all miners I have go toasters in 2018

and start over.....(and likely watch Bitmain mine these supposed 1.5gh and 400w units all summer and do a pre-order for middle of fall 2018) nope...I will like being a hobby miner

again..less angst!!!

So it is 2015 again and imagine $1.80 LTC and mine and HODL for that year...you wondered why the hell you were bothering, it sucked...but that is the plan..the only thing that is gonna save

any of us from all our current devices of any ASIC scrypt-pow from being doorstops, with the amount of L3+ toasters that Bitmain has and is tossing into the world is a price pump...or it will be

all over by Sept 2018, again IMHO, been there, seen that, got the t-shirts (bfl, knc, gawminer, etc)

Again, hope I'm wrong..but it is entirely possible, Bitmain mis-timed this whole mess for price/difficulty/etc, especially with the amount of L3+ toasters they have out in the world at this point

..that by fall the ONLY way you could mine..is to get their next unit of miners...in that all others are doorstops L3, L3+. KNC Titans, ...and Bitmain could be 'singing' to the world, lonely

with their data hall mining scrypt-pow, on hey, we did not mean to mess this up, by our new 4-5 month pre-order units..it will all be fine..we promise.... Smiley

edit: this may help, however, freeware mod (give donations) that from what I can tell MAY without much risk, allow your L3+ to mine at a level above an L3++

I'm not up on this, have not got my buddy at the data hall to try this, likely won't for 2 weeks, we have little time, BUT...from what I can tell a 10% pump

in profits might be worth looking into on this...just saying, don't know here is the thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3546316.0;topicseen

hey, it is not much good news..but it might help a bit! Better minds then me, post there and here on how it goes...

they are just using a new technology for the moment once they make a lot of money as they did with D3, B3, A3...they sell it to us for fun

At least I passed on those L3++'s

Reality sucks right now with an L3+...too much drama!

Well, I'm making on my miners with elec/data hall rent etc exactly $1.89 a day FML!

24 hours   0.02819964 LTC   4.58 USD   2.69 USD   1.89 USD
7 days   0.19739749 LTC   32.08 USD   18.82 USD   13.26 USD
30 days   0.84598923 LTC   137.47 USD   80.64 USD   56.83 USD

Yep, living the dream! (sob.....) Sad

You are using a hosting site correct?

yeah...this is next years rates month to month...I pay probably 1c more a kWh than I should (real data hall) but my buddy does ALL  the work....and I mean ALL the work
so figure it is fair to have a complete on-site fix available w/o the wait of 2 days or whatever with other data hall help

again, every summer it goes up at LEAST 1c kWh...even my residential for the past 3-4 years goes up every summer 1c kWh...must be great to be an elec utility monopoly

my residential is mainly going up DUE TO SOLAR indeed..with community solar farm and the rest...less folk using the traditional elec utility...thus they raise price....sheesh

can't talk the CPA in saying SOLAR on the house is for MINING....I'd mine USED CRAP to be able to pull that off....that was 'too cute' in her words...on the other hand

I could get my 100 amp service upgraded to 200 amps by keeping my miners in the basement (pictures for IRS in files) that may fly...having 100% of a 200 amp service

upgrade off my gross mining income ...like mining equipment MAY be my last hurrah...if I can't hack mining by August or some such...

well, right now my 16 L3+ equiv hash at the data hall is getting $1.77 per day ...damn I hate LTC difficulty!

yep, this circus...may be all over by August for me...if the bitmain 'toaster rate' of miners keeps up Sad

It will be 'soothing' to go back and be a hobby miners with only 3 or 4 miners in the basement at most......bitmain too much drama .....punt and sit on hoard may be wise Smiley

makes sense if as most of us suspect the L3++ is just an 'already overclocked' L3+..then all the problems above and flakiness makes perfect sense....another Bitmain gimmick

that has likely come to light Smiley Just my view...but when we tried overclocking...seems to be the same symptoms...so went back to L3+ baseline

wait till the Price goes down more on the L3 ++  i all most bought one but not now, and when it does im wiling to bet it will be as usage as the V9 is now running the V9 using solar.

I agree! Bitmain is insulting their customers! they are just looking for our money .....other companies are playing the game and both parties are wining....
if the difficulty is raising I'm sure they are using new technology for their own!!!!once thy make a lot of money they give us the bones!!! to complain.....

How many people actually bought L3++? Who would do that lol

I just checked diff and ROI and my old miners would be 2000 days lol

Now compare that to the new prices, it would still be over 1 year no?

thanks, will wait for your results.

@jstefanop

i wouldn't mind to pay for working version that can easily be updated using GUI.. is that possible since most of us here are probably using hosting facility. Has anyone tried down volting L3++ via lowering standard frequencies? any results?

I haven't, but I will be.  My goal for this weekend is to tent my setup.  In the coming days I'll try the down volting.  Need to make sure they're setup and stable in their new home first.

I was able to set the voltage on the L3++ to 0x90 on all but 1 of the boards.  On one I left it at the default for the L3++ of 0x60 which is interestingly higher than the L3+ which is 0x80.

That makes sense, since the L3++ is just an L3+ that is overclocked and they needed to raise the voltage. Thats also why its less efficient.

The L3++ is 580Mhs at what watts, 800 ?
How many HW errors do you get per minute once reducing the voltage?

On my L3+ I get around a HW error around every 2 minutes or so.
Current hash rate is 555Mhs - Freq 425 @ 770 watt power draw on a March built unit.

For anyone running stock firmware, or not wanting to pay a 2% free forever on a simple mod, below is my tool to change L3+ voltage for free Smiley

Its simple to use but requires basic use of ssh and command line. More info in the thread here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitmain-l3-voltage-control-toolfree-3546316

Since most boards come with ridiculously high voltage for the stock frequency (so bitmain can sell us stuff like L3++),  you can reduce the voltage to the lowest setting on most boards, which brings down power consumption from 800 watts to about ~650 per miner.

Would you be able to write a script that does it automatically for some $. I have all my L3+ in a hosting facility and if I can lower the voltage by 10-15% I can save on my electricity bill up there ven more.

Clueless!
Just fired up my L3++ that came last night.  I as many figured it would just be the L3+ overclocked, but decided to buy one for science so that I could report back.  Here is what I found:

  • Hardware Version: 1.0.1.3 - This is the same as other recent L3+ machines I've gotten.  I have one L3+ from an early batch which was at 1.0.1.1
  • Frequency: 450
  • Chip Temps - Out of the box I'm seeing temps at 68-69.  Other recent L3+ machines I've gotten I have at 438, those are running at 56-59.
  • Hash Rate - Have only been running for 30 minutes, but it's current average is 584.54, other recent machines I've gotten are at 570@438
  • Fan Speed - I haven't adjusted fan's on either box.  I noticed that the new L3++ was at 3,300 and the newer L3+ is at 4,230
  • Power At Wall - Sorry, I am not currently measuring this.

In summary, I think people's suspicions were correct.  I think I just paid 506 (606 - 100 coupon) for the same box I got for 262 (462 - 200 coupon) for a while back.

here is an open source firmware fix that likely does the same thing as Bitmain did to overclock (slightly) the 'supposed' L3++

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitmain-l3-voltage-control-toolfree-3546316

I don't code..but to my untrained eye....looks like a person could compare the L3++ with this freeware firmware (above thread) and 'tweak'

(without a lot of risks) your L3+ to be around these new L3++ factory out of the box specs...

I leave this to better minds than myself, but figured the threads could be useful for something like this ..to those MORE in the know than me!

(ie everybody)

much true respect for showing this --- appreciate more than u know --

trying to squeeze all i can outa the ones i have mining --

plus they JUST SENT ME 3 new ones to MAKE UP FOR a mistake with some old A3 orders they messed up with Huh        and they refused to do anything but take them back and hold my money to use for future products plus I pay shipping and customs !!!!

n now that they arrive months later I cannot sell since even they selling for 600 !!!!!!!   so i guess i will just ruin them -- but great using les power !!!! thx

i paid like 1500 plus each since it was really supposed to be the A3 and an S9 (which they sent the T9 with horrible specs as error or just sending m,e what they wanted it seemed !

was hoping they would hook someone up who dealt with soooo many D3 DOORSTOPPERS !     but they don't care one bit about customer service .....       crazy monopoly -- and to have monopoly on a decentralized industry Huh? huh Huh

OH YIPPEEEE

i got a BUNCH like 20 coupons to use ... FOR NOTHING ! - i don't trust anything to purchase or buy -- it is truly the wild west n gambling at this point !

bytom
x3 mini now -- which means do i buy mini -- or is that a test so if it works they put out the real one in 2 weeks for 1/2 price but then triple it when they feel like it -- then they just send me what they like or offer to "KINDLY HOLD MY BCH and bank MONEY TILL IM READY TO USE on new items that i don't know what to trust --

only ever been good IMO for the bitcoin miners ---like s9 etc ...still profitable YEARS LATER !    -   they stay n had power and next generation on way or mining away in thur new spaces !     this saturation tyo markets and customers that cannot use such power is just not "KIND or RESPECTFUL in the BUSINESS world !

at some point the customers must mean something !

and not the 3 or 5 huge customers that are smiling every day at the bank ! knowing everything 3 months prior jockeying in bed with bitmain !

ps

ive been a proponent of bitmain -- but its getting too crazy unless this is one of those momments in history where change is needed and one company really was too far ahead !  great to see samsung and other competition finally -- but only a few more years with bitcoin - so the other ASSETS ARE ONLY GAMES in TOWN as they delve into space and AI future  !
