Pogba will probably not receive the full sentence as it is thought to have been more of an error in the prescription and not taking a product capable of actually changing his athletic abilities.

It must be said that at this moment the betting issue (which in the past involved a lot of famous footballers here in Italy) probably needs to be clarified and this could have a devastating effect on many teams/players Roll Eyes

Pogba must have known the consequences of his actions before doing that. His career was already not going on well due to getting injured very often. He wasn't so much different than Eden Hazard for a long time. I wouldn't have become surprised if Pogba also decided to retire before all this happened.

He chose to take a huge and unnecessary risk like this instead and this must have brought the end of his career for sure.

By the way there have been many cases such as illegal betting in Italy too lately. I wonder if this will affect the national team negatively also.

I really don't understand why Paul Pogba made this kind of a simple mistake. He tested positive for doping as you know. He was expected to get a four-year ban from professional football after this incident. He is banned for now but I can't see the duration of this ban for now. If it is really 4 years then I assume Juventus would terminate his contract soon.

A ban of 4 years could mean the end of his professional football career at the same time. Because he is already 30 years old now. He might just return to football to play for Saudi teams for money maybe but not more than that.

Quote
Under the World Anti-Doping Code, Pogba is liable to a four-year suspension, which could be halved if he proves that he was not at fault. The ban could even be limited to a few months if the use of the substance took place "out of competition and is not related to his level of performance".

I feel sorry for him for what happened. According to him, he said he took a food supplement that was prescribed to him by a doctor friend in the united states which later tested positive to testosterone metabolites. I really hope he's telling the truth because he's career is already at rock bottom. Juventus almost terminated his contract during the summer to save the club a €10 million per annum wage but they later had a change of heart. As a result of the failed drug test, Juventus has slashed his salary to €2000/month and might terminate his contract pending on the final decision of the Italian sport judiciary council.

I don't believe at all that Paul Pogba didn't know that the supplement he was taking was considered doping, now the packaging of all medicines states whether they are doping drugs or not, a doctor knows that that drug/supplement has doping effects, what kind of doctor is he? this man who, knowing that his friend is a professional footballer, prescribes him a doping drug? I don't buy this whole story, it's just attempts to get the punishment reduced

On paper Inter would be highly favoured side. Because the season has started really badly for Roma. They are barely starting to recover with some wins recently. But there is a big question mark on what they can do about one of the toughest matches of the league. Roma beat Inter here last season but the situation was different back then. I think Inter will win this time.

Milan's fixture is quite challenging these days. A week before the match against Napoli they are going to host Juventus as well. I think Milan will beat Juventus home first. After that I expect them to make big difficulties for Napoli and even win the match. Because Napoli are very vulnerable recently. You know how they were defeated by Fiorentina home.  Sad

Exactly, you are absolutely right, what you said is correct, at the moment the team is performing very well.
I don`t know if he is doing well enough to overtake Inter who did very well at the start. Milan are starting now if we want, will Inter feel the breath down their neck? We will see
In this moment, is a Milan moment

I was checking out the next matches scheduled after the break for the European qualifiers, I saw good odds and I put down a draft bet.

Torino vs Inter, Inter's victory is given at 1.77, a good odds considering that Inter are playing away and you can't afford any more missteps in the league and will try to overtake Milan who will be involved in the big match against Juventus .

Verona vs Napoli, Napoli's away win is 1.52 and I honestly would have expected a slightly higher odds given Napoli's recent less than satisfactory results but I am convinced that Napoli will be able to win.

Roma vs Monza, Roma's victory is 1.66 and I think it's a fair odds, Roma can beat Monza but they have to do without some key players like Pellegrini and Dybala. these are my choices but there will be time to change your mind, what would you change about these predictions?

This week we have much interesting game to view, in my opinion:

2023-10-29 17:00  Inter - Roma (who win? I hope Roma)
2023-10-29 19:45  Napoli - Milan (interesting match!)

In my opinion the two matches will be very high tension, with Inter - Roma I hope Roma wins but honestly Inter is stronger

with Napoli - Milan, I see it very badly for Napoli, in my opinion Milan wins
You have chosen the most interesting matches, they are really interesting matches, especially for this season. In the Inter-Roma match, Inter started so well this season. On the contrary, Roma is a team that had a bad start to the season, so I cannot give any chance for Roma, Mourihno's job is really difficult.

While things are not going well, they will also be playing with the league's favorite team and they have a lot of injured players. Especially the absence of captain Pellegrini is a big disadvantage for him.

Already! in the tenth round of the championship there will be these two good matches, difficult to make a prediction now, also because they have to play the ninth round first, there could be expulsions or injuries, but if I had to make a prediction now I would say Roma and Milan win. On Milan vs Juventus I believe Juventus will win, Milan must play without Maignan and Theo Hernandez due to suspension

In my opinion Rudi Garcia needs some more time to create a solid bond with the team. I don't believe he is a bad manager actually. He even made a good start with Napoli first but things went upside down suddenly. But he is new around here so I believe Napoli can be more successful with him in time.

Spalletti and Rudi Garcia both have a good level of experience in the Serie A. There hasn't been any change in the formation since Spalletti left the team. They are still playing with 4-3-3 Attacking. The players just need to get used to playing in Rudi Garcia's management as soon as possible.

Have you heard the news? Napoli wants to oust Garcia and take on the crybaby Conte.
Surely Inter fans will remember what a bad manager Conte is.
Very well, I am revising all my Napoli bets downwards, at this point we are in really bad shape. He changes coaches constantly and instead of taking serious people, he takes whiners.

It isn't like Mourinho will be successful at every team he goes to. Actually he had a good chemistry with the team first. They won the Europa Conference League title also and qualified for the finale in the Europa League too. But they just can't give the expected performance when it comes to the Serie A.

They are even worse this season as you know. The target must be to finish a season in top 4 in the league every season. However they still can't make it there. It looks difficult for this season too as long as they don't start some lasting winning streak.

If they can't make it to the Champions League once again I believe that Mourinho's contract won't be extended.
Actually, Mourinho needs time to be able to bring many trophies to Roma. He needs lots of great players to support him in winning trophies with Roma. However, it is still early in the season and I think Mounrinho will succeed in bringing Roma to a better position in the standings table.

We have seen the efforts made by Mourinho to bring success to Roma last season where he succeeded in bringing Roma to runner up in the European League.
However, this season Mourinho seems to need time to show the true strength that Roma has. The defeat in Serie A was due to the absence of many Roma players, which meant that he did not have a squad that was truly ready for every match in Serie A.
But Lukaku's quality has shown quite good performance. He will be able to work well to bring change for Roma in the upcoming matches. Fans have to be patient because a storm of injuries has disrupted Roma's performance this season. They don't have to criticize Mourinho because Mourinho is not a small coach, he has a big name and has coached many big teams.

Napoli are in trouble with Rudi Garcia these days. I thought that Rudi Garcia would also do a good job after Spalletti left. Because these managers adapt the same system technically. Rudi Garcia managed Roma in this league before. He has a good history with them as well. He actually started really good with Napoli at first.

However this didn't last long. The point difference with the leader is increasing in time. Napoli have been quite inadequate in big matches so far as well.

First the Lazio loss and now they have lost to Fiorentina. Plus they couldn't get any points against Real Madrid in Naples as well. The critism will be more intense if things go on like this.

Napoli will do very badly this year, if they reach the Champions League they will have to thank all the saints including their famous saint: San Gennaro.
The problems are many and the magic seems to have broken. The players don't get along with the coach and everything is falling apart.

I was watching the highlights of the Napoli vs Fiorentina match, and I think that the entire Napoli team is already fed up with their new coach Rudi Garcia, even during the match a couple of players objected a bit to the coach's choices, so continuing the Naples that we were used to seeing last year, we will never see them again, too many strange events have taken place at the start of the championship for Napoli.

My bet went terribly wrong, and I didnt expect this defeat by Fiorentina against Napoli and it says a lot about how Napoli has changed in just a few months.

I think Garcia wont sit on the Napoli bench much longer, he is not making a move, he is just doing damage, he is making the players angry. Very bad.

next week will be quite a tough match for Inter who will play Torino away in the domestic league but with three days time Inter will face RB Salzburg in the Champions League in that short time I am worried that Inter players will have difficulty managing their balance and their stamina will decrease when facing matches in the champions league, all these matches are very important for Inter because to add points to be able to qualify for the next round because currently Inter is only 1 point different from Salzburg, and to get 3 points in the Italian league it is also important for Inter to reclaim its position in the Italian league because currently Inter is in second place behind Milan.
Simone Inzaghi must set a strategy to be able to face the match optimally in a short time that.

@hahay while no one can share the exact details but my gut feeling is that they had a bad fallout and they needed some excuse to end his contract hence they orchestrated the entire drama which made sure the fans don’t revolt against the management. @babo you’re right what happened with Victor show’s how they deal and in their statement they even refused to apologise which only shows how terribly Napoli is managed these day’s.

EXACT, match point!

I was thinking the same thing but I didn't want to be mean and say it
in all honesty it seems like they did it on purpose to tear up the contract
very stupid choice, in fact now they are paying the consequences

Is it true, at that time Napoli really fired or expelled Spalletti? Because based on the news at the time it was stated, that Spalletti chose to leave in his own way or chose to rest. So, which is true, was Spalletti fired and or expelled, or did Spalletti choose in his own way to leave because he chose to rest?

Because of course, it would be very wrong if Napoli actually sacked Spalletti after managed to get Scudetto last season . Although basically, Napoli are not a team that can always compete well in the title race in every seasons . Because anyway, last season also the competing teams in Serie A seemed to experience a decline in the quality of performance, so Napoli could strongly maintain its top position last season. But yes, about the incidents that are happening now in the Napoli squad it seems that it is not good and not healthy anymore . So yes, if there is no harmony between the coach and the players, then I think Napoli will also look for a new coach to replace Rudi Garcia and maybe in a short time.

He didn't exonerate him directly, otherwise the fans would have exploded with anger.
They had some very strong disagreements and instead of understanding that they had made a mistake, given that Spalletti led them to victory, they went wall to wall.
It's wrong to argue when you win, in fact Spalletti was bitter and left.
Now it's happening with Osimehn or whatever the hell you spell it.
