Hurts to see, people still fall for the oldest scam trick in the book, impersonation. Quotes can be easily faked too, if you haven't noticed.
Edit: The scammer too seems to be really dumb, the profile the "Quote from Ognasty" leads to, is your profile  Undecided

Both miners are running 100% to spec with no problems.

I am in the Uk so no taxes to pay, total cost inc. shipping via Parcelforce is 5.88BTC

If you want to grab them let me know and ill drop OgNasty a pm with the details to act as Escrow.

Remove the https:// when posting phising etc site. Anyway, as bitspill has said, it was clearly said in the last post that external links are not to be trusted, especially free ones

There is a user directing people to a fake bitcointalk website with a fake post by me giving a fake BTC address.  Please make sure you are trading safely.  You would think the URL would be a pretty good giveaway.

Please don't ask me to escrow gift card sales.  There is no way I would release escrow immediately after you provide someone with a carded gift card and I will flat out deny you unless you have a long trusted trading history and are willing to wait until goods are received by the buyer.  If you argue with me about this, I will ignore you.

Please don't ask me to escrow bitcointalk account sales.  If you do, I will call the seller a scumbag and will call you a scammer.

DO NOT SEND BTC TO ANY ADDRESS EXCEPT THIS ONE:
168WXhArv7Fasqvi2xm5MQMfLhG18jifMe

IMPERSONATORS WILL DOCTOR MY QUOTES, IMPERSONATE ME WITH SIMILAR NAMES, GIVE FAKE BTC ADDRESSES, DIRECT YOU TO 3RD PARTY SITES, AND WILL USE INFORMATION IN YOUR WTB THREADS AGAINST YOU.  DO NOT SEND BTC ANYWHERE BUT THE ADDRESS ABOVE!

I will not sell my forum account, PGP key, or the private key to my public Bitcoin address.  I will not act as a 3rd party escrow for a deal in which I am also involved.

Hi, do you provide escrow holding multisigs?

I have an address that needs escrow and need a trustful member of the community to be my pair sig.

No.  Traditional escrow only.  I do not like my actions tied to the actions of others.

Fair enough. Thanks anyway.

Do you have a minimum amount for escrow?
Or do you escrow even the smallest of transactions?

I'm asking because I need an escrow for a $3 transaction.

Please read the OP before replying to a thread.  That was literally in the first sentence.

I am providing escrow services for a 1% donation (0.01 BTC minimum)

A Friendly Reminder:  As the Bitcoin rate increases, so do the scam attempts.  If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Always use escrow, and make sure any communication of where to send BTC is sent directly from your escrow agent.  Trade safely!

The more parties you involve in a transation, the more points of failure there are.

every human can make a mistake.

Probably why you should rely on a trusted escrow agent with years of experience over a newbie who has probably never signed a multi-sig transaction or an unproven 3rd party service.

Exactly, that's why the arbitrator is not needed, every human can make a mistake.

MultiSig escrow sounds nice, but for 99% of use cases it is not a better way of doing things.  There are plenty of threads discussing it though.  You don't need to crap on mine.  Thanks.  Also, multisig escrow provides absolutely no additional protection in the case mentioned above.  An arbitrator would be needed in either case.

1) MultiSig can protect from arbitrator mistake - it is a very important point.
2) Actually, the additional protection in proposed MultiSig scheme is not required. Motivated to be honest participants is the best protection!

With all respect to your person,

How is the seller protected from the buyer claiming they didn't recive it or sending back a different item than they recived etc

The only one protection from this type of scam is collateral in MultiSig escrow. It will encourage both sides to be honest, and if something happens with the parcel to conduct a thorough investigation and find consensus.
Who provides this type of escrow?
