Actually I think that it's other way around. All other coins are compared with Bitcoin and Bitcoin price has always been some referent value for other cryptocurrencies. Sometimes people estimate how other coins have come to the Bitcoin value and adoption or how much are they growing on the market, more or leas than Bitcoin but still I think that Bitcoin is and will stay central coin in the market and every other coin that ever appear will be compared with Bitcoin as the first and most successful cryptocurrency.
I don't think this is a problem, we know that bitcoin is the price base for all crypto, so they are free to compare any coins with bitcoin. like XRP vs Bitcoin, or Stellar vs bitcoin and so on. as long as it's in the cryptocurrency or payment method, it's not a problem

I don't think that those sell offs is due to the comparisons that are being done in the community. It's only a result where everyone panics so I don't really think that will be a cause of the dump. They are just FOMOing so they are selling. And about the comparisons of bitcoin to ETH or to any altcoin, that comparison is nowhere to go. Just ignore those people that keeps on comparing bitcoin and altcoin.
Comparing this two top coin is nothing to do with their purpose and capabilities Bitcoin being created thru blockchain its unfair to be compared to other altcoins they have their own functions specially in future when the mass adoption happens worldwide
And your right mate about the affect on the prices from the comparison,crypto prices moves thre investors,by the law of demand and supply

They will definitely continue to compare between Bitcoin, Ethereum or other cryptos, because everyone will always try to know the development of Bitcoin, Ethereum or cryptos to be able to determine which choice they should buy and can generate profits for them. Every person who invests will always see that comparison and I think that comparison is not something that should be disputed because it is part of the way someone can convince themselves in choosing the investment they will make.

Well, every people has its own will to do what they wanted. We cannot force them to stop comparing the Bitcoin crypto currency to Ethereum or to any other crypto currencies. But for me, it is not good to keep comparing crypto currencies because each and everything of them has its own unique characteristics as a crypto currency.

Comparing cryptocurrencies is actually not a good idea because it tends to lame the technology behind some major blockchain networks. This wards off other investors who might have wanted to invest into the cryptocurrencies of some major blockchain networks.

I have to admit that i also don’t like when people compared btc to ethereum. This doesn’t seem necessary cuz they are already different. People started to act like this is just a race between bitcoin and ethereum. So it’s kinda ridiciluous. I believe both are very good in their own way, i prefer to hold both.
Yes, I agree, because Bitcoin and Ethereum have their own advantages and disadvantages, but when someone compares Bitcoin and Ethereum, of course Bitcoin is the most superior in price, so it's a stop to compare the two.

Yes.I also do the same.I don't see them as great competitors because they can be of great benefits once their prices have already increased.I used to hold them both not just in the past but even up to the present.Btc and ethereum are perfect combination for a good investment because they both give huge profits in time. I don't think it is relevant to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum or comparing any other cryptos to each other. I know its quiet tempting to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum because of their reputations in terms of their market cap and volume.But I do believe that the source of doubt in most people in the crypto community is mostly because of this comparisons made about cryptocurrencies. People who don't really know and understand the ideas and purpose of the creation of cryptocurrency will just share their ignorance to the world, which is not helping the crypto market. People sell their cryptos just because they heard that a particular coin is better than the coin they have. To add to these, I believe dumping of crypto coins is also as a result of this kinda comparisons made by people. Please let's find a way to talk about cryptos rather than comparing them to each other......

Yes when comparing with kind to other currency will not be a right idea because Bitcoin is more like huge expecting currency but other currency will not like that if Bitcoin will drop them all currency will not be valuable that's why Bitcoin will play an important role in cryptocurrency filed.

Bitcoin is more than just a cryptocurrency, it's an idea! Bitcoin is the basis on which the market holds. Therefore, I agree that the market is divided into two parts: bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Yet it does not change one rule: when Bitcoin sneezes, the whole cryptocurrency market gets sick.

I don't think anyone could just stop comparing cryptocurrencies especially when you're looking for something you want to invest that will be good in the future. And telling me people what they speculate about which coins are to be invested is also important. Because it helps the people to become aware of what coins you should be buying or holding.

Comparison is the eternal problem of man. We can not stop them, just listen to them and filter the information.

Honestly I sometimes do this comparing. But on top of that, Bitcoin is my favorite crypto currency. I admit that we crypro people cannot avoid to do such actions. But what ever it takes, what is important is the crypto world is keepon running.

Here and nothing to compare as 2 different coins with different protocols. I can say for sure that Bitcoin will be in the first place and Ethereum in the second, but will fight for this place with Ripple.

People are using bitcoin as investment so they are going to compare with other cryotos wehen the price increases and decreases,we can't do anything much about it until more people know what is bitcoin.
It's not surprising that when a newcomer begins to understand and trade crypto, it will find that most of the exchanges use Bitcoin as the medium of trading, so they not only have to follow the price of altcoins, but also follow bitcoin, so it's normal for them to compare altcoins with bitcoin, at least most newcomers will do this until they really understand crypto.
