Yes, I agree with you. It is waste your time to always compare bitcoin to ETH or any other cryptos. Instead of that you think about investing strategy to earn money with it
Although different cryptocurrencies have got different natures, sadly the price of Altcoins always follows the trend of BTC and ETH. All we care after all is just the value of each coins. So we just cannot stop that comparison.
Its very normal to keep coins being compared always since that makes the community alive. We cannot also deny that there are competition being a currency on the coinmarket.cap and everyone is doing their best to be number one. There is nothing wrong in comparing the coins and as long as we support them and continue to support them then they will still continue to exist and have a value.
Yes, I can agree with you. Every cryptocurrency has its own aim and so they pursue different goals. Moreover I think that a lot of cryptocurrencies should cooperate and support each other to survive and be legit
Why is this even a problem for you if someone compares Bitcoin to altcoins or not. Everyone has a right to have a different opinion on that and has a different perspective .
Making a comparison between currencies seriously affects the market cap of that currencies, as investors are always looking for a more reliable and most stabilized currency by means of profit and people will only choose a most suitable currency by comparing it to other currencies and the currency that is progressed more as compared to other currencies and a brightened future currency. So that's why the comparison is important.
Right,we don't need to compare bitcoin to ethereum or other cryptos because they are already different to each other. They have different uses,value and number of demand. Let us just support them if we know that those coins has a potential to grow in crypto world.
As long as all these Alt coins is falling under the umbrella of Crypto currencies, people will compare them. We do this with other products too, like cars / household appliances / Food Franchises / Commodities etc. You cannot stop people from doing things that comes naturally.

Completely agree with this, I think it's perfectly normal and good to compare different coins to each other, as long as you're comparing similar functions/aspects of that coin.
How could you measure progress if you're not comparing one coin to another?
Also, I think it's a good thing to have a bit of rivalry and competition between different cryptocurrencies. This serves as a motivation to do better in the future.
We cannot avoid comparing these two since both are under the same topic, that is, blockchain. Yes, eth is made for smart contracts and bitcoin is focused on p2p transaction, being a store of value but keep in mind that eth can also do what bitcoin is capable of--perhaps even better since it can host several tokens.
I do not think that those people comparing bitcoin with other coins are aware of the potentials of bitcoin to the world economy in the nearest future.
Bitcoin is an electronic asset which cannot be compare with other alt coins because it has a strong net work systems linked with the modern technology.Its features are very specific and attractive to the global investors. Bitcoins usability is very wide for the daily life of the human being hence its popularity is wide spreading world wide There will not be any other coins are there in the market to compare with the bitcoin .Bitcoins market capital and the daily traded volumes very high so it is the King in the crypto market.

Well it can't be helped. Since eth is the second in the market as well as the second alt next to btc, people will always have comparison. Though at this point, eth has a lot of catching up to to at least level with btc. If that's even gonna happen :p
Yeah each of the coin got their own uniqueness, but when we talked about crypto we talked about value, when we still think crypto as asset, we will keep on comparing, when we got a bunch of money to invest we will start to compare the price and the possibility of rising in the future, its normal to compare between coins when we still think it as investment, and its normal to compare it because we want to look for the best coin to used and to hold

bitcoin and ethereum are different, besides of the algorithm are different, those coins cannot compare even for the price. but like other member said, I'd love bitcoin and ethereum too because these coins have a great chance to increase higher in the future and until now, it's the best coin for the investment. maybe right now, the price cannot give much profit for us but I believe that it will happen in the future because these coins are the stronger coin in the cryptocurrency.
I don't think it is relevant to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum or comparing any other cryptos to each other. I know its quiet tempting to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum because of their reputations in terms of their market cap and volume.But I do believe that the source of doubt in most people in the crypto community is mostly because of this comparisons made about cryptocurrencies. People who don't really know and understand the ideas and purpose of the creation of cryptocurrency will just share their ignorance to the world, which is not helping the crypto market. People sell their cryptos just because they heard that a particular coin is better than the coin they have. To add to these, I believe dumping of crypto coins is also as a result of this kinda comparisons made by people. Please let's find a way to talk about cryptos rather than comparing them to each other...... 
You are right. Each cryptocurrency have a unique advantage. I love both ETH and Bitcoin, Bitcoin is good to pay the bill, ETH is to buy altcoin. We need to wait and see their futures.

I also think that bitcoin is more than a currency. This is the symbol of a new technological leap. A new digital economy requires a new tool.
Btc is the one and only that's used as storage of value, so it can hardly be compared to anything else at the moment.
If I may ask, what is the benefit gained comparing Bitcoin and Ethereum? Both are independent blockchains technology that the success of one isn't influenced by the other. Also they both operate on different consensus algorithm. We cannot control people's thought or writing but we always send out the right info for all to learn from.
We can do compare them base in their plan here in crypto and they all have different worth so that's good so no need to think negative about that then if the coins/tokens have price in market of course that is already have development and if a new coins/tokens grow of course btc will grow too then after that all coins/tokens will grow too
